Music Monday – In the Shadows
[image error]
Today’s #MusicMonday is ‘In the Shadows’ from Amy Stroup, which (of course) Spotify gave to me on the Discover Weekly playlist, and the moment it came on I was just like, “Yes, Spotify, you do understand me.” And then I listened to it, and every time the weekly playlist came back to it, I found myself listening to it again and again trying to catch the lyrics because there’s so many good lines in here. “A whisper in the darkness / in the quiet it’ll grow” just screams for some kind of sinister story to be told, and the opening line is just great, “What happens in the shadows / no one has to know.” I just love it, and her soft voice works so well with it! There’s no real video, but you can scroll down, hit play, and enjoy!
PS – After lots of people asked for it, I finally got off my ass this weekend and put together a Spotify playlist of all my #MusicMonday posts. #MusicMonday from Jennifer Bene @ Spotify Now you can binge listen to the same songs I do as I write. Seriously, I probably listen to the #MusicMonday playlist more than any of my others combined!
Favorite Lyrics
What happens in the shadows,
no one has to know.
The truth is in the gallows,
it’ll burn but won’t let go.
A whisper in the darkness,
in the quiet it’ll grow.
You can try to hide it in the farthest place,
but everybody knows…
There’s something in the shadows.
It cuts you like an arrow.
Shifting through the dark,
your strength is in your weakness.
This fire in your blood,
hanging from that hope,
but everybody knows…
There’s something in the shadows.
There’s something in the shadows.
It finds you in a cold room,
a silhouette against the wall.
Lit up by the white moon,
we’ll out run the waking dawn.

BAM! I’m officially a Top 5 Bestselling Erotica Author on Amazon!
This totally happened, and I’m still sort of in shock, because I was thrilled earlier in the weekend just making top 10! Front page of the Amazon Bestselling Erotica Authors page felt impossible, and so that was already mind-blowing, and then…
[image error]
Can we just pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and then FREAK OUT?!
Neil Patrick Harris knows what I’m talking about. Honestly, breaking the top 10 is something I’ve come close to before, I think I got up to #12 when ‘Security Binds Her’ hit #1 in a bunch of categories, but there are always some big names holding down the top 10, and even if I sell a bunch of copies of one book in a weekend, those authors are selling a bunch of copies of a bunch of books. So, to break top 10, much less TOP FIVE is freaking amazing. I was shocked, and so very fucking grateful to be supported by so many amazing readers and fellow authors.
Now, this was even more surprising because last month I went through the very annoying process of moving most of my books into Romance (and other) categories on Amazon because my sales had dropped a lot and this is because unless there are a lot of people buying your book, Amazon doesn’t like to show erotica books to readers. BUT! If your book is getting some “meh” sales, and it’s in romance, then Amazon will still toss you around the site at random using the magical unicorn created algorithm that no one understands. The bonus? I’ve been selling more books / finding more readers / exploring new places on Amazon. The draw back? My rankings tanked (obviously) because I had gone from the comfortable bay of erotica into the giant ocean of romance where there’s about a million more authors / sub-genres / books. I wasn’t too worried though, because I may have started back at point A with all of those books, but it was getting me in front of new people.
So, you might be asking, without a bunch of books in erotica, how the hell did I move up the list?
Well, the books I still have in erotica have always sold well and maintained pretty good ranks in erotica. And then… we released The Dark Forest anthology. And let me tell you, lovelies, this boxset is selling like crazy. How crazy, you ask? Pretty fucking crazy.
We’ve taken #1 in BDSM, #1 in Action & Adventure, #1 in Horror, #1 in Fantasy, #1 in Suspense, & #1 in Thrillers! All under the Amazon Erotica category for bestsellers. AND we’ve been inching up the charts in overall Erotica too, we were even holding at #3 in overall erotica for a while (we’re still top 5 as I post this). Not just that, but we went sub-1000 on Amazon’s overall bestseller rankings hitting a high point of #616 I think. That’s #616 in the entire fucking bookstore on Amazon. Meaning we’re up against every author on the planet with a book on Amazon, so this is pretty much what all of my fellow authors in ‘The Dark Forest’ looked like on Saturday night:
Totally reasonable freak-outs were happening all over. A bunch of those lovely ladies hit top 10 in Erotica as well, and we’ve all had a pretty freaking amazing weekend, and it’s thanks to all of YOU. Our publisher for ‘The Dark Forest’ was nervous about the boxset, and that’s understandable. They generally release spanking romance/erotica that doesn’t come anywhere near the land o’ dark – but these results speak for themselves. The fact that the Dark & Seductive Events people are able to run their own author event (happening this July in North Carolina) is wild. Just a couple of years ago you had to be extremely creative with how you wrote the blurb for your dark erotic romance. Had to be ultra sensitive with your cover. Had to cross your fingers when you submitted hoping that the book sites wouldn’t realize just how dark you’d gone and let you through. Even BookBub didn’t have a Dark Romance category until late 2015 I think? The world is slowly catching on, starting to realize that there are readers and authors who like it dark – and we all know I like it dark. ^_^
[image error]
(Yes, that’s from Zoolander, my favorite movie)
So, in conclusion, thank you guys. Thank you so fucking much, and just know I never take a bit of this for granted. I dreamed of being an author when I was a kid, and while I didn’t know I’d be writing kinky, twisted, devious & dark erotic romance, I did dream of the day when someone would actually want to read the crazy stories in my head. Even with the sleepless nights, the fact that I totally can’t quit my day job yet (not even close), and the frustrations and challenges… I am so fucking lucky, and I absolutely know it.
I adore you, lovelies. Thank you.

Not only is this anthology deliriously hot, but we are having all kinds of fun with it! My story ‘Wet’ is definitely out of my norm, but my fellow authors insist they love it! What will you think of Alexander Reed and Sienna Davis?
Check out the blurb for Wet below:
Sienna doesn’t like to talk when she plays at a club. She likes to escape, to be treated like an object so she doesn’t have to think. It’s nice, it’s easy, and she can do it with just about anyone… or so she thought.
When she gets paired with Alexander, a Daddy Dom who insists on calling her ‘little girl’ and making her talk, she realizes that spinning a giant water tank for breath play is the least of her worries. Now, with every unanswered question, she’s plunged into icy water – but the tank isn’t the only reason she’s wet.
Pleasure and pain give Sienna’s temper a voice, but will it force her to connect with herself and the man whose talented hands she’s beginning to crave – or will she break under his touch? And if she does shatter, will Alexander be able to put his little girl back together?

Ask Me Anything: There’s no “right” answer in BDSM!
Today’s #AskMeAnything is more of a rant because a question was asked in a submissives group I’m a part of on Facebook and some of the most horrible answers were provided to this struggling submissive who had been looking for guidance in how to express her frustration with going months and months without sex. While that part of the post was bothersome enough, some of the incredibly dangerous responses I saw ticked me off to no end. Therefore, I wrote this. If you’re curious about what the AMA is, check out the explanation on the first one (read that over here if you like).
Q: This isn’t really a question, but let me make something clear to everyone in the community. There’s no “right” answer in BDSM!
A: Earlier this week I was involved in the most infuriating, hours long, asynchronous argument with a woman who said she is involved in a Master/slave relationship with her husband, and has been for a long time. Over several posts she repeatedly told the original poster, me, and the general population of the group that if someone chooses to call themselves a slave they have zero right to express concerns.
I pulled the mental emergency break RIGHT THERE.
Look, I’m not going to rehash the mind-numbing, rage-inducing discussion we had, but I am going to rant a little on the dangerous behavior exhibited here. First things first, just because YOU choose a term for your relationship, and YOU negotiate guidelines for that relationship with your partner, does not mean you wrote a rule for the entire community. As long as you are safe, sane, consensual, and both parties involved are adults – I don’t care what you do. I don’t care if you choose to call your dynamic HIGH OVERLORD OF EARTH/tiny ant of mediocrity and your main kink is getting covered in grape jelly on Tuesday nights. None of that matters to me. I will respect your use of that term, and your kinks, and your decisions, even if I choose to use the same titles in my relationship and they mean something else to me and my partner.
Someone else’s definition NEVER has to be your definition.
Each relationship within the BDSM community is unique. There are zero perfect copies from one to the other, whether we are going with Master/slave, Dominant/submissive, Daddy/little, etc. Everyone is beautifully different, and negotiations happen in all directions. Kinks take relationships in new directions, the boundaries of social requirements, work requirements, etc. can change things. And that is completely okay! Just because something works like a magical cure-all in your relationship, does not mean it works for others, and to TELL others how to feel/act/etc is so dangerous and irresponsible that it makes me see red.
You can absolutely set boundaries in your relationship where you’re not allowed to voice complaints. You can make it so that no matter what is commanded, you say “Yes, Master.” You and your partner (regardless of what title you agree on) can decide to set just about any magical rule for your relationship that you would like. For me? I make my Dom’s coffee for him whether we’re at a nice dinner, or in his house. It’s just a rule. For some people, that would be silly, for us it works. Now, just because I’m a sub, and he’s a Dom, I do not expect everyone else that uses those terms to suddenly have a coffee guideline to their relationship.
That would be ridiculous.
And that’s the point I’m trying to make. We have a D/s relationship. We have our own kinks and rules. And that’s how the whole thing works! YOU can set rules for you and your partner too, or have THEM set the rules and you agree to them, what-the-fuck-ever, but you don’t get to make it THE ONE RULE TO RULE THEM ALL for the entire community of kinksters across the planet, and you don’t get to look down your nose at those that don’t adhere to your rules like they are somehow a malformed, less-than-real submissive/slave/etc. Doing that just makes you a dick, whether you have one or not.
Now, if you go so far as to say you have no safeword within your dynamic, I’m going to respectfully suggest that you’ve sort of left the boundaries of BDSM and ventured into something else, because no safeword means your play is not safe, sane, and consensual. And telling others that THEY don’t get a safeword, or get a voice in general JUST BECAUSE you choose to call your partner Master, and he calls you slave, is fucking insane.
No one in the community gets to tell others what they can or can’t do within the BDSM kink.
You can have opinions. You can describe YOUR relationship and how well it works for YOU. But you don’t get to write the rule book on BDSM culture and pass it out to brand new subs like it’s iron-clad material from some secret bible of BDSM that only you have access to. Doing that would put far too many submissive women in serious danger to abusive and terrible men who might choose to call themselves a Master or a Dom. Telling others they have no right to speak up just because they’ve elected to identify as a sub or a slave is a recipe for trauma and disaster.
BDSM has a million different flavors, just like it has a million different couples in it. This concept is the whole reason that I write these ‘Ask Me Anything’ posts. I talk about my relationship, but I do my best to always remind you guys that it’s my POV. And I preach the basic tenants of good relationships regardless of kink. Communicate, communicate, communicate – & be safe. Be smart. Protect yourself.
To say anything else, to condemn or put down another sub because of your beliefs, is not just ridiculous – it’s cruel and pointlessly mean to people who we should be lifting up and supporting. We’re a fucking community for God’s sake, we get enough shit from the straight-laced vanilla crew, we don’t need to be tearing each other down, or insulting each other like we know better than the other on what gets them off or makes them happy.
Your kink is not my kink, and that’s okay.
I think more people could use a refresher course on exactly what that means.

Ready to get Wet for #SatSpanks?
It’s #SatSpanks time again and I’m excited that after my TWO releases in January (Black Light: Exposed & my more recent The Dark Forest anthology of twisted fairytales) that I will be releasing yet another boxset on February 10th! It’s in the world of Black Light again and it’s called Valentine Roulette! Here’s the blurb:
Get ready to explore some of your naughtiest desires while you celebrate Valentine’s Day with eight kinky stories from eight USA Today and international bestselling authors! Black Light is the most exclusive BDSM club in Washington, D.C. and for one night they’re changing the rules of play to entertain their members with a game of chance – Valentine Roulette. Challenge and adventure awaits as these sexy dominants spin to win their submissives, and the subs spin to choose how they will play. Their prize if they last the night? One free month at Black Light, and for some of our daring participants… even a chance at love.
Three hours. Four hard limits. Eight sexy stories.
Are you brave enough to spin the wheel?
My story is called ‘Wet’ and it follows a humiliation loving sub who gets paired up with a Daddy Dom who has a penchant for breaking his subs down so he can pick them back up again. When they spin a kink for water-based breath play, they end up by a giant tank of water. The only thing is that Sienna doesn’t want to talk, and Alexander can’t figure out what makes her tick if she won’t speak!
—
Alexander took the steps slowly, each of his shining shoes landing heavily before he continued. Once he was on the floor, he paced around her slowly, and she shifted her posture to ensure she was presenting in a proper kneel. “You are beautiful, little girl.”
Her teeth clenched, but she stayed silent, only letting out a gasp when he eased his fingers into her hair, gliding down to the back of her head before he gripped hard and made her look up at him.
“I want to know more about you.” He smiled slowly, a look that she was sure charmed most of his submissives. “Tell me something.”
“What would you like me to say, sir?” It was a plea for him to give her direction, to make it so she didn’t have to think, but he seemed determined to make her come up with her own answers.
“I want to know you, little one. Tell me something you like or don’t like.”
“I don’t like being called little girl, sir.” Sienna muttered, and he chuckled, tightening his fingers in her hair until little pinpricks of pain rushed over her skin.
“I already know that, and I’m enjoying it very much, little girl.” Pulling her to her feet, he pushed her to the stairs so that she climbed them in front of him, the angle of her neck growing uncomfortable. “Tell me something I don’t know.”
“Like what, sir?” she whispered, unsure what he was looking for as he planted her in the odd chair. Garreth had clearly slid it backwards on its track, because she was still able to put her feet on the floor for now, her toes just able to touch the damp edge of the cold tank.
Alexander leaned down to brush his lips across her shoulder, nudging her hair out of the way as his mouth grazed her neck before stopping beside the shell of her ear. “Tell me anything. I want to get to know you.”
Sienna found herself mute, because his intimate touch had sent her thoughts somewhere else, and it was hard enough to speak even when she was fully aware. No matter what he called her, Alexander was a Dom in the truest sense. It was evident in the sophisticated rumble of his voice, the commanding way he held his fist in her hair, and the possessive way he nipped at the skin just below her ear.
“Speak,” he growled, and her lips parted at his command, but she couldn’t make words form.
What would she even say? What could he possibly want to know about her? About her boring life?
“You’re a quiet one, aren’t you?” he asked rhetorically, releasing her hair to walk around her. With a firm grip he captured one ankle, lifting it to attach it to the cuff on the seat of the chair. “There’s only one problem with that…” Alexander came back to the other ankle, repeating the process so that her legs were folded in such a way that she seemed to be kneeling, thighs stretched wide, over the chair.
“Sir?” she managed to ask, and he chuckled behind her.
“I like to hear my subs talk, and you’re mine for the evening.” Capturing her wrists from where she’d been bracing on her legs, he pulled them to the back of the chair, cuffing them separately to either side so she couldn’t budge forward at all. “That means you’re going to talk, little girl. Even if I have to make you scream first.”

Interested in learning more about Alexander and Sienna in “Wet”? The anthology will be out just in time for Valentine’s Day but you can check out their blurb right here!
Relentless, he works to find the weaknesses in Sienna’s armor, testing her limits as she struggles to ignore him and just feel. But with every unanswered question, she’s plunged into icy water – and the tank isn’t the only reason she’s wet.
Pleasure and pain give Sienna’s temper a voice, but will it force her to connect with herself and the man whose talented hands she’s beginning to crave – or will she break under his touch? And if she does shatter, will Alexander be able to put his little girl back together?

Thankful Thursday
It’s #ThankfulThursday and it has been a very bittersweet week for me. I had a surge of people join me and my Street Team to help launch my new releases and get the word out. We released ‘The Dark Forest’ and it’s hitting #1 in a ton of categories and the praise for these twisted and devious fairytales has been better than I could have ever imagined! I got invited to attend D&S Events ‘A Dark & Seductive Affair’ in Charlotte, NC this July with other fantastic NYT & USA Today bestselling authors. And all of that goodness was interspersed with wonderful readers and fellow authors supporting me like crazy! Unfortunately, my mom has been in the hospital since Sunday and she’s not doing well, I haven’t been able to sleep or eat, and with the day job and everything else I’m responsible for in my life I just feel stretched so thin and exhausted in a totally insane and manic way. Not sure I even have the right words for how I feel, but I can’t say enough how grateful I am for all of you. And because it’s Thursday and we are close to the weekend. I can’t think of anything better than to stare at TWO gorgeous guys, blue skies, and sunshine. (Although I secretly adore the rain much more). What do you think, lovelies? Tell me something GOOD in your life right now!

A rare sheepdog, gifted by the father she barely knew, is the first of many cracks in her perfect life. A mystery surrounding a famous painting intrigues her, and how does she decide which of the men she has met on the spanking site to meet in real life?
This book is laugh out loud funny and explores the worlds of high tech art restoration as well as the role social networking can play when a smart woman longs to have her bottom scorched by a man who demands the best of her.

His kiss made her stop talking. It was a kiss full of sweetness and yearning. It was a kiss that hinted at summer wine and fleecy mittens, the clasp of a tender hand and pussy pounding sex. She stood stock still with the shock of the perfection of that kiss and he said, “This is as romantic as it could possibly be.”
Bliss. Until she thought about it for a millisecond. “That makes it worse.”
“How?”
She recommenced her pacing. “If this is romantic, I cannot possibly get naked before we have even gone out to dinner.”
“Honey,” he tried to interject and she waved him off and paced a wider spiral.
“Honey,” he tried again.
He stepped in front of her. “Elizabeth.” That got her attention. “Honey, you only have to take off what you want to. I promise.”
She was determined to be frazzled. “No. In a real punishment I don’t get a say.”
He shook his head. “Not true.”
“Are you sure? Because I am pretty sure it’s true.”
“It’s not. It would be crazy of you to trust me that much right now. I understand.” He kept his hands under her elbows to prevent the bolting that she was seriously considering. “This is a gift. I don’t deserve it. I won’t insist upon it. You are pretty and smart and funny.” He ran his hand through his hair, leaving it sexily mussed. “That you trust me that much is huge. I’m not a sadist. This is only good for me if it meets a need for both of us. This is a two-way street. I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
She did not visibly relax but she sat down on his right side. She held up a finger in case he was considering doing any overlap hauling. “So. Are you going to ask me on a date later?”

From what I’ve read in the reviews, this is a classic spanking romance book mixed with that does of modern day reality as the two lovers meet in a chatroom. (Hell, I met my Dom on FetLife, welcome to 2017!) The cover immediately caught my eye, and at only $2.99 if you love a sweet Dom and a witty heroine, this latest release from Susannah Shannon is right up your alley.

Music Monday – Flames
[image error]
Oh, lovelies, this man’s voice is going to melt you six ways from Sunday, and I’m not even sorry. ‘Flames’ from Tedy is one of those songs that stopped me in my tracks the second I heard the opening fucking line. Every bit of the song is hot, the lyrics are perfect, and I just want you to imagine the baritone of his voice against your ear. UNF. I promise, you’re going to love it. There’s no way this song doesn’t inspire a character in me, I can already feel them coming to life. Scroll down, hit play, and love it with me. (PS – I chatted with him on Twitter, and he’s so humble and wonderful, and deserves all the praise we can heap upon him and his effortlessly sexy voice!)
Lyrics
I trust no one it’s a habit.
I don’t belong, no need to panic.
I see the end before it started.
Don’t need anybody,
’cause all you bring is sadness.
But when I’m near you I feel flames,
I touch the fire and I get burned.
I feel this rush beneath my feet, it’s like I’m falling.
Is this love? Oh, is this love?
This is so sudden I need time.
No need to rush ’cause I ain’t trying.
I see me wrecking you to pieces.
I’ll suck out all the good in you,
the time is ticking watch it blow…
But when I’m near you I feel flames,
I touch the fire and I get burned.
I feel this rush beneath my feet, it’s like I’m falling.
Is this love? Oh, is this love?
So, tell me can you take the pain?
’cause this a warning – I won’t change.
But then again it’s not like you’re perfect,
you bring the bad right out of me.
You hold the gun, I’ll pull the trigger.
My blood is spilling, now I’m cold…
But when I’m near you I feel flames,
I touch the fire and I get burned.
I feel this rush beneath my feet, it’s like I’m falling.
Is this love? Oh, is this love?
But baby you’re so dangerous.
I let you in,
you make a mess,
you leave… leave me in the dust!
But when I’m near you I feel flames,
I touch the fire and I get burned.
I feel this rush beneath my feet, it’s like I’m falling.
Is this love? Oh, is this love?

Ask Me Anything: When can I touch and hear your books?
It’s #AskMeAnything today and I’ve been receiving a variety of questions from all of you lovely readers around a central concept…
Q: When can we touch and hear your books?!
A: Honestly, nothing makes me happier than hearing how excited you guys are to get my books in paperback and in audio format. What most people don’t know (and I didn’t know before I started writing) is that each of those things takes a completely separate process, time, and usually an investment of money.
Currently, I have the Thalia trilogy, Of Fog and Fire, and Taken by the Enemy available in paperback. I’m currently working on getting Lethal Sin, Early Sins, Fae, and Tara into paperback. (Livia and I are also working on the Black Light series.) However, this will take a bit of time!
The only audiobook I have right now is Taken and that’s because my publisher chose to do that (I was not involved in the process) and so not only do I need to learn HOW to get books into audio format, then I need to actually do it.
I promise I’m working on it though, and it’s my big commitment to do it the first half of 2017!
There’s a ton of exciting announcements coming, some I can talk about, and some I can’t, but just know that this year is going to be amazing and I’m so glad to be in with all of you!!

Something wicked this way comes for #SatSpanks…
[image error]
It’s #SatSpanks time again, and by now you’ve probably seen me posting teasers of ‘The Dark Forest’ erotic fairy tale anthology on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Well, get ready because there’s only a few days left and then…
[image error]
…it’s here. The Dark Forest. Seven truly twisted fairytales told as you have never heard them before by seven of your favorite best-selling authors – Zoe Blake, Alta Hensley, Tabitha Black, Maggie Ryan, Addison Cain, Maren Smith, and me!
The Tower is my twisted, modern take on the Rapunzel story with a lot more capture fantasy, and dark / terrible naughtiness, and I think you lovelies are going to enjoy it a lot! Here’s the blurb:
Rebecca ‘Rapunzel’ Sinclair has spent her entire life in The Tower. A forty-two story monument to her father’s tech company where she lives and works, trying to be worthy of Daniel Sinclair’s incredible legacy.
But while her father has kept her sheltered and safe, he has also made enemies, and when one of them rips Rapunzel from The Tower and takes her prisoner she is dropped into a nightmare of pain and pleasure.
There are secrets this damned prince knows, and a dangerous history behind his motivations. As her masked captor works to break her down will she be able to face the darkness in her past, and the dangerous desires she’s discovering inside herself?
—
EXCERPT:
Turning she tried to kick at his leg, but he barely grunted and she screamed in frustration as she reached back to dig her nails into his bare hands. Air hissed between his teeth as she tore his skin, but it was pure victory when he released her and she scrambled backwards. Breathing heavily she took in his huge, broad form, knowing that another dash for the doors was useless. “What the fuck do you want from me? Why won’t you just tell me?”
“Haven’t I made it clear?” He tilted that flat, expressionless mask as he looked down at her. “I want to use you to destroy him.”
“I won’t let you. I’m done.”
“You are so blind, Rapunzel.”
“Stop calling me that!” The scream was a combination of all of her rage, her shame, her pain, but he used that moment to lunge forward and grab her arm, hauling her forcibly back into the room. Instead of throwing her to the floor though he turned and lifted her, pinning her to the wall, his body flush to hers.
Forcing a knee between her thighs, he spread her as she tried to push his chest back. “What bothers you so much, Rapunzel? That I call you that, or that daddy wanted to keep you his little princess forever?”
“Fuck off!”
In an instant he cupped her ass and lifted her from the floor, his hips splitting her legs until she had no choice but to wrap them around his waist. The tingling hum at the base of her spine ushered a surge of shame through her system. She was not enjoying this, didn’t want this, she was not –
“Tell me… if I touch you right now, will you be wet?” His voice was a low purr that amplified the sparkling heat inside her and she hated it, hated him, and hated most of all that it was true.
“Let go of me.”
“You’re wet. I know it. You always are for me.” The man leaned forward, brushing the mask across her shoulder as he nuzzled her neck. He took a deep breath against her skin, a groan escaping him as he pressed his hips forward, the growing hardness unmistakable. “You need it as much as I do, princess.”
For a moment her hands were still braced against his chest, trying uselessly to push him away, to ignore his words, but then a thought struck like lightning. Before the fear could stop her, she reached up and ripped the mask over his head in a single, fluid motion. Tawny brown eyes immediately went wide beneath sculpted dark brows. He had the features of an angel, too beautiful to be so evil. A seraph with high cheekbones, the faintest shadow of a beard covering his cheeks sloping towards lips that parted in shock. The mask hung at her side, gripped white-knuckle tight in shaking fingers, as his beautiful face contorted with rage.
He caught her by the throat, slamming her head back against the wall as he snarled. “What the fuck have you done?”
