Burnout and links

Last week on Monday and Tuesday I felt great. Energetic, productive, creative. I was able to do contract work and my own work and ISBW content and all sorts of things. I wrote thousands of words, I did housework and errands, I thought I was on a roll. But then I crashed on Wednesday and have been barely productive for the rest of the week. I was puzzled till I realized I had burned out. I pushed it too hard.

I do this most often when I'm sick. I'll get sick, then start to feel better and think, '

It will probably be enough to eventually release as an ebook, but for now you'll get it in free PDF form.

In this PDF:

Intro- my writing past.
Chapter 1- It's OK to suck
Interlude: Excuses 1

This is released under a CC BY-NC-SA license. Please feel free to print, distribute, even change as long as yo

Links and stuff. Pants. You know.

Pants report- not much pants on the weekend, spent time in sweatpants doing yardwork or being lazy with the family. It's a weekend. I did pants up to go to a party, though. But today, I got up early to finish a freelance project, then worked out, then PANTS before noon.

Writing report- around 4000 words on a freelance project over the weekend and today.

Links links links! I'm too freaked with deadlines to make a big blog post, but these people have a lot to talk about:

Good writing skills are taugh

Calling myself out

My kid is sick.

My husband is sick.

My house is a mess.

My power is out.

My Internet is out.

I'm angry.

I'm tired.

I've already written something else today.

I need more than the 15 min I have to get into the story.

I have to go pick up the kid from camp.

I have a headache.

I have errands to run.

These are the reasons I haven't written as much as I wanted to this week. They're all true.

And they're all bull****.

Other people's deadlines. Pants report.

I was talking to a good friend of mine today who is a personal coach. I don't employ her officially but I know when we get talking about career, I do trust her opinions. We talked about my difficulty in focusing, and she asked me if I had a time in the past when I focused well, and what made that happen. That was easy.

Other people's deadlines.

It's not just the promise of paying work, it's someone else counting on me. For example, I have a sponsor for ISBW now, but it's still tough to get on a r
