PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive through September 19th

Wow.  This is easy.  Anybody who blogs about dog adoption and the PEDIGREE adoption drive going on thru 9/19 is going to help out dogs.  That's easy.

We adopted our cocker after we had to put our dog to sleep almost two years ago.  She came from a rescue operation and they'd rescued her from a puppy mill.  Every time I think about the miserable life she'd had, I'm so glad we chose this route.

Adopting a dog is easy and it can save a dog's life.  Plus, it can make you really happy…

Hey, have you ...

Things a writer doesn't want…

There are certain things that just don't do a writer any good at all…

Things like…

Screeching about bad reviews.  Deal with it.  It's going to happen.  Everybody is entitled to an opinion and when you rail about somebody not liking your work, you're basically telling them they aren't entitled to their opinion.  Move on.Griping about how other writers have it better than you.  Sour grapes, anybody?  Nora Roberts gave a fantastic speech at RWA's conference this summer… paraphrasing here because...

Coming up… and it's so damn good.  I wonder if book 3 is done yet…must go bug Carolyn more…

(part of a series… read the first book before this one…but so good) Not due out yet-about 2 weeks, so you have time to buy book 1, read book 1, and get antsy for this one.  See?  I timed it perfectly.

Death Blows by DD Barant

I love this book.

Loved it. And damn it… I'm stuck waiting until December for book 3.

(this is a series… some books work okay out of order-I don't need to read in order, but these will work better that way, I think-the first one is Dying Bites)

The series is based on the idea that there are alternate worlds and an FBI profiler got pulled from our world into one where humans make up 1% of the population and golems, vamps and lycanthropes make up the other 99%.  Awesome, awesome books…

About 9/11

Sept 11 monument in Jersey City. Pictures, Images and PhotosImage via Flamedrinker @ Photobucket

This was going to just be an 'In Memory' post, but some of the things I'm seeing on the news, online this week have bothered me deeply and I can't keep silent about it.  FYI, I'm out of town today and because I don't want to run the risk of a few trolls turning this ugly-comments are turned off since I won't be around to monitor things.

I generally don't discuss things of religion or faith on this blog.  I make no secret of the fact that I'm a Christian-I...

On Dragons… specifically, DragonCon

So I did my first Dragoncon this year. Even got to speak on one a panel, and be still my heart… Josepha Sherman was on it. Now some of you know I have a mad love for certain authors…one of them would be Mercedes Lackey and some of my favorite books are the books she co-authored with Josepha Sherman.

Let me tell you, when I saw who she was, I literally had to just stand there and get a grip before I introduced myself.  Otherwise, all I would have managed was mad, insane babbling.  Authors...
