#SocialGood… Take our money…
So Limecello over at The Good, The Bad & The Unread is donating some money to (RED), a charity for AIDS relief in Africa. And if she gets enough comments on her thread, I'm going to donate $50 as well.
So go over there and comment. Make me give my money away. (FYI, the comments must be done at The Good, The Bad & The Unread, thread here)
Tarnished Knight… Blurb & Excerpt
Think you know fairy tales… guess again…One look at Jack Wallace and Perci knows he's going to be trouble. Even surrounded by soul stealers, he's a one-man wrecking crew. What does he need Grimm training for? He's already hell on earth, a warrior bent on destruction. And something…more.
He's too strong and fast to be a mere mortal. Even covered in blood, he makes her forget she's only here to do a job and get out. It's twisted. Sick. She hasn't felt...

Post HEA Nookie
RRRJes/Read React Review did a review on Veil of Shadows *and holy crap, she liked it, yay!*
But one thing she mentioned was that she didn't much care for the sex that comes at the end of the book…once the HEA has been achieved. Tongue in cheek, I replied,
you don't like HEA sex? You're a sick puppy, Jess.
Although I will admit, I was curious as to why…I mean, I've read a lot of books where there wasn't any HEA sex, and I felt cheated. Not with all books, but with a number of romances...

Monday… I'm having one.
My keys are missing. SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY missing.
And one of the kids left a green crayon in a pocket. I discovered when I was getting the clothes out of the dryer.
#SpeakLoudly
Dr?/Mr? Scroggins:
In regards to your article:
One such book is called "Speak." They also watch the movie. This is a book about a very dysfunctional family. Schoolteachers are losers, adults are losers and the cheerleading squad scores more than the football team. They have sex on Saturday night and then are goddesses at church on Sunday morning. The cheer squad also gets their group-rate abortions at prom time. As the main character in the book is alone with a boy who is touching her...

Romance, haters, bashers… whatever
Okay…so it's not really a surprise that I like romance. Right? I mean, I write it. I read it. I think anybody that calls it porn without actually have it…well, it's safe to say they are close-minded judgmental idiots.
When people mock it, mock the stereotypes, the genre itself? (I'd orginally linked to a post, but it's been deleted…sorry!) Still… typical post, let's make fun of romance…fill in the blank…
Shouldn't I, as a romance writer...

PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive through September 19th
Wow. This is easy. Anybody who blogs about dog adoption and the PEDIGREE adoption drive going on thru 9/19 is going to help out dogs. That's easy.
We adopted our cocker after we had to put our dog to sleep almost two years ago. She came from a rescue operation and they'd rescued her from a puppy mill. Every time I think about the miserable life she'd had, I'm so glad we chose this route.
Adopting a dog is easy and it can save a dog's life. Plus, it can make you really happy…

Things a writer doesn't want…
There are certain things that just don't do a writer any good at all…
Things like…
Screeching about bad reviews. Deal with it. It's going to happen. Everybody is entitled to an opinion and when you rail about somebody not liking your work, you're basically telling them they aren't entitled to their opinion. Move on.Griping about how other writers have it better than you. Sour grapes, anybody? Nora Roberts gave a fantastic speech at RWA's conference this summer… paraphrasing here because...
