Larkin climbed the stairs to the second floor. She was weary to the bone, but at least she no longer smelled like a midden. She looked longingly at the solar. The bed there was soft and warm, and she dearly wished to sleep in comfort. But Sir Talon the singer occupied that bed. He might welcome her, but she would not welcome the consequences of joining him. Especially not if it involved meetings and greetings like those he’d sung about. That cursed song had tortured her thoughts all afternoon. She’d tried every trick she knew to escape the bawdy verses and met with failure at each attempt.She shook her head and told herself firmly to get about finding a place to sleep undisturbed when a shout of laughter from the solar stopped her. There was a small chamber, directly across from the solar that was not too filthy. It held a cot with ticking, and she’d gotten linens and blankets from the laundress. Tomorrow she would scour the room from top to bottom. For tonight ‘twas enough to have clean linens, a warm blanket, and privacy. No skin-tingling, toe-curling, off-key voice would disturb her rest. She’d not allow it.“Arrh, you’ve no need to be sharp with me. I am beset with feminine invasions of my chamber. First that red-haired nymph steals into my bath. Now you, Cat, steal into my bed.”Anger carried Larkin through the solar door before she had time to think things through. “You wretched man. You knew I was here.”He dropped his jaw, as if her words made no sense. “I beg pardon?”“All the time you sang that horrid song, you knew I listened.”His lips turned up. He stepped between her and her view of the bed’s occupant then pulled the bed curtain closed.She wanted to strike the grin from his face. “And then you stood up, while I watched. You knew I watched. Did you enjoy it? Did it please you to flaunt your nakedness like any bawd?”“I think it more to the point to ask if you enjoyed it?”“Y. . . You . . . you . . . know I could not.”“Why?”“’Tis unseemly.”“You could have left,” he said blandly.“With you to see me, and all the world to know I was in the room when you bathed?”“If you shout any louder ‘twill be known all the same.”“You wished to insult me.” She reined in her voice.“Nay, I do not insult women.” His tone became hard. “’Tis not uncommon for serving women to assist nobles when bathing.”“It is if they are . . .” aware she was about to reveal that she too had been naked, Larkin stopped.“Yes? If they are what?” he invited her to finish.Larkin opened her mouth to speak, then shut it. What could she say? If they are naked in the same room with you, as I was. She couldn’t, wouldn’t say that.

She was like a roulette wheel and he needed it to stop so the ball fell in his favor. Lifting his finger, he replaced it with his lips.Just a gentle kiss, like the night before. He was Stephen’s brother, a Newtimer, and he would leave tomorrow.Oh no. The village would be long gone by then. What would happen to Braeden then? She glanced toward the door, listening to the floorboards creak under his weight. Quickly, she pulled her quilt from the chest and grabbed the pillow.Too late.The door opened and he ducked inside, obliterating the opening from her sight. He stood stock-still, studying her once again. The lantern light softened his features, proving how different he really appeared from Brom.Straightening her shoulders, she stepped toward him. “Your room is all set. I’ll just make my bed in the parlor.”He didn’t move, and she couldn’t go through the door unless he did.“Braeden? You need to step aside for me to leave.”“And what if I don’t want you to leave?”Her breath caught in her throat as tingling sped from her head to her toes. She turned to review the bed. “I assure you these are clean sheets.”The door closed.She spun and the quilt knocked the pitcher off the table onto the floor with a crash. “Oh no.” She knelt, suddenly wanting to cry, though the pitcher wasn’t anything special. In fact, it had a crack along the handle and was bound to break soon anyway.“Come. It’s okay.” Braeden’s hands on her arms helped her to stand and sent fire through her already taut nerves.Gently, he enveloped her in his arms. Her heart slowed as a feeling of rightness settled through her. With her face against his chest, she could hear his strong heartbeat.“Kat.” The soft-spoken word came from deep within him and she met his gaze. “Don’t be mad at me.”The loneliness she glimpsed in his eyes undid her. Nick shrugged off his coat and worked open the buttons on Luke’s waistcoat. Neither man gentle, or patient with the other. Luke tore open his coat, the last button flying off.
Nicholas attempted to save his clothes from the same fate by falling to his knees. He freed Luke, stroking him while licking his own lips.
“Do you suck like a girl?” Luke asked, his fingers curling in Nicholas’ blond hair to hold his head steady. Luke rocked his hips, thrusting into Nick’s mouth.
Nick sighed at that first taste; male musk, and something else—something distinctly Luke flooded his taste buds. Tonight, he took his time, sharing the pleasure. It reached a deep, haunting ache inside him. He rolled his tongue over Luke and opened his throat to the other man’s thrusts.

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about my new release Sex Is The Best Medicine and help my readers get to know me better. I appreciate you all being here.
Tell us about your title featured in this set: Sex Is The Best Medicine started out as an idea I had for a free read. The more I wrote, the longer the story became and it outgrew the minimum word count. I’d tucked it away until I was contacted by a friend of mine inviting me to submit any medical romance story to this boxed set. Once I’d read over the submission guidelines I knew this would be the perfect fit for my novella. How’d I come up with the title? Driving along on my long commute to work stuff pops into my head all of the time and this title was one of those random things I find myself grabbing my phone and asking Suri to help me remember.
Tell us something about yourself.I was born and raised in California, the Napa Valley to be more precise. I went away to college and graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1994 with my Bachelor’s degree in nursing. I have a lot of boring certifications that go along with my degree, more specifically my specialty of practice (intensive care and as a flight nurse) but I won’t bore you with all of that stuff. It’s a snoozer. I have four beautiful children and two adorable twin grandsons. Interestingly enough, three of my four kiddos are going into the health field. I will have two nurses and possibly a physician’s assistant. My youngest is like “Uh huh, Mom. There’s no way I’m going into healthcare. I can’t stand the sight of blood!” LOL. I currently reside in Arizona where I work as a helicopter and fixed wing flight nurse transporting critically ill patients from the scene of accidents on the side of a rural highway or from one hospital to another if the patient requires a higher level of care.
Tell us about your writing process. I don’t really have a writing process. I write what I know—Medical— The details I use are accurate and true to life. I like to mix the heavy sad stuff into comedy where I can because some of the most ridiculous things happen at work and it is funny!!
What is your favourite genre to read? This is a hard one for me. I love all genres fantasy, contemporary, historical, western… My youngest daughter who is as much of an avid reader as I am has me hooked on a few YA series.
What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about? My family. I love my children and grandchildren and I have the most AMAZING husband in the world.
When you are not writing, what do you like to do? My husband and I love to take our Kayaks out on the lakes here in Arizona. The all year round sunshine guarantees we can go at any time and the breath taking desert vistas make me appreciate life all the more.
If someone who hasn’t read any your books and asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say? Necessary Roughness Meets ER!!

Half way through the song, a coldly familiar voice barked, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Kate's eyes snapped open and she nearly stumbled. She gasped and the pencil fell to the carpet. “Mr. Anderson!”
“I repeat. What in the hell do you think you’re doing?” He said crossing his arms over his broad chest.
Kate fought to control her scrambled thoughts through the sensual haze of the Latin beat that never failed to fire up her libido, but it was extremely difficult to accomplish with the fine male specimen who’d suddenly jumped out of the fantasy of her mind becoming reality.
“I…ah…um, well,” she began cursing herself for her innate curiosity. She cleared her throat. “I’m dancing,” she said lamely.
“I can see that,” he said rolling his eyes. “Why are you doing it here?”
“I’m so sorry,” she began. “I was just taking out my trash and saw your door open. I knocked and called out, but no one answered and… Well, obviously I came in and snooped... I wasn’t going to steal anything I was just curious and…” her voice trailed off. She smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand, embarrassment flaming her face. “God, I’ve got diarrhea of the mouth,” she said with a grimace.
He just stared at her an incredulous expression lit his face. Obviously his man of few words persona he’d displayed upon their first meeting wasn’t due to his visit to the emergency room. She straightened her shoulders and sighed. “I’m Kate by the way. Kate Sumner. We met last week in the ER.” She held out her hand and gave him a sheepish smile. “You’re obsessive compulsive busy body neighbor.

Tell us about your title featured in this set: It took me about a month to write On Call. I came up with the name as I was writing it because Erin was always ‘on call’ when she agreed to go out with Adam.
Tell us something about yourself. I live in Ohio with my husband and two kids.
Tell us about your writing process. Before I start a story, I do a character write up where I get to know my characters better. What do they like to do? Their background, hair color, eye color, family traits, basically everything I need to bring them to life. Then I plot out the story chapter by chapter before I begin writing it.
What is your favourite genre to read? Science Fiction Romance
What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about? Aside from my family I’d say animal rights. I love animals and try to donate when possible to local animal shelters. All our pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) are rescues.
When you are not writing, what do you like to do? Spend time with my family. We love to go out for bike rides.
If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say? Erin’s a single mom struggling to get by when she and Adam begin to have a fling. She knows its not going to be anything serious, but he’s cute, has a good job, and can’t help falling for him even if it will break her heart in the end.

“And I thought you invited me out because you wanted to get in my pants,” Erin said, her voice lowering to a whisper as she wagged her brows at him. Heat crept over her cheeks. I can’t believe I just said that out loud. God I sound desperate.
Adam chuckled. “I’m not opposed to that, but I don’t want to complicate things. I’m not looking for anything serious.”
Yeah, you already said that earlier. But...
She shifted in her seat as stared at her plate. He was giving her an easy out. They could keep things entirely platonic, but it had been a long time since she’d been with someone and if someone was going to burst her semi-recently single cherry she kind of wanted it to be Adam. “Who says it has to be complicated? I recently ended a long relationship, and I know you aren’t looking for anything serious. After all, we’re two consenting adults.”
Adam leaned forward. His sea-blue eyes sparkling as he met her gaze. “Too bad you have to go back to work in a bit.”
She licked her lips as her heart fluttered in her chest. So, he is interested. Good to know. “Too bad.”
Adam reached out and touched her hand, rubbing his thumb over her palm in a soft caress. “What time do you get off again?”
“Five in the morning.” She’d be more tired than hell by then and he wouldn’t want to wait up for her. It was probably better that she didn’t pursue this, even though she really wanted to.
“Yikes. I have to be at work tomorrow at 7.”
“Don’t you think you ought to take a day off?” She motioned to his forehead where the freshly sewn gash was. Even with his forehead split open he still managed to look stunning. “You took quite the hit to the head.”
“Nah. I’ll be fine. I have a high pain tolerance and I don’t like to be stuck lying around. I’d probably find myself in more trouble without something to do all day.”
She shook her head and took a sip of her drink. “If you say so.” Her eyes drifted to her wristwatch and she sighed. “I have to get back.” Sixty minutes wasn’t enough time.
Adam set his napkin on his empty plate. “I’ll walk you back.”
“You don’t have to.” Nor had she expected him to. The hospital was in a fairly good neighborhood, and she darted across the street a lot during her late night shifts.
“Are you kidding? It’s almost eleven. I’ll walk you back.”
She smiled at his thoughtfulness. “Thanks.”
Adam paid for the check and they left the diner. He took her hand in his and they walked hand in hand down the sidewalk.
“There’s a Fourth of July party at Ricardo's. What do you say we get together with Laney and Graham then?”
Fourth of July. That wasn’t too far away. “I don’t think I work that night, but I’ll have to double check. Why are you so intent on getting Laney and Graham together?”
“Graham’s in love with her. I just want to help them along.”
“You’re meddling? I thought you didn’t believe in marriage.”
“I guess, yeah, I am meddling. I don’t believe in marriage for myself, but Laney and Graham, I don’t know, if anyone deserves happiness it's them two.”
He had a point. Graham was a great guy from what she’d seen, and Laney deserved a man who would be attentive to her and her daughter. “I can get her there assuming we are both off.”
“Good. In the meantime, when can I take you out?” he asked.
Erin’s mind raced. Between work and finding a sitter for Caden there wasn’t much free time. “Um.”
“When’s your next day off?”
She was off all day tomorrow, but she hadn’t seen Caden since dropping him off at daycare and she usually spent the afternoon and evening with him after pulling a double. There was no way she was telling Adam she had a kid. They weren’t getting serious and the news would likely scare him away. Men always seemed to run when they found out you were a single parent. She imagined it’d be the same thing in a no-strings attached relationship.
“Why don’t you give me your number and I’ll look at my calendar,” she said.
“You’re not trying to blow me off now are you?” he asked with a grin.

Quickly he attached a second cuff on her other thigh and tightened the ankle restraints, leaving her laid out on the bed, restrained and open, her legs parted and bent, entirely helpless and accessible to his touch.
"You have no idea how beautiful you are like this – splayed for my desire, unable to resist the pleasure I can give you." It was his voice that kept the rising panic at bay. She felt the bed dip on her side and knew he had come to kneel beside her, but the first real touch was a soft kiss on her belly, a loving touch more than a seduction. Then his hands began to play over her in gentle caresses and soft massages, touching her everywhere without a pattern that would have forewarned her. One moment his hands were playing along her flank, over her hipbone, the next they circled her wrists above the restraints, reminding her of them, or massaged along her thigh. But he never touched her pussy or let even the gentlest movement play over her breasts. This absence made her skin there hungry and sensitive to him, more so than he could have done with hands or lips. She started to burn, inside out, every cell of her body reorienting itself to him, her mind consumed entirely by the expectation of his touch.
