RAMSQUEEEEEEEEEEEE CAMPBELL
This is a collage of images Grey put together because he is evil. This was NOT the look on my face when I opened my package and saw that Ramsey Campbell had dedicated his new novel to me under my new name.
My look was more like this:
Those are sticks of Blackpool rock, because I will, of course, always remember Blackpool. Especially the empty children's ride in the rain with the evil clown on it. (Please don't notice how badly I need a haircut.)
Cannot wait to read this book. I love you, Ramsey!

Ich Habe Kopfweh
That's about all the German I remember from a whole year of it. (Well, that and "Ich bin müde." I had it the last period of the day.)
I am sick with some kind of virus that's going around and have gotten very little done for several days. I've also been somewhat discouraged about art due to feeling like I wasn't selling much lately, but when I printed out eBay packing slips just now and saw I have seven paintings to ship, I realized I was being a whiny ass. An ASSS. (Little New Orleans City Council joke for the local political geeks reading.)
Since I posted the Nothing and Zillah character portraits, a couple of people have asked for ones of Rickey and G-man. I'll try, but I warn you, when I tried to paint Ghost, he came out looking unsuitably insane, and also rather babydoll-colored -- I haven't really mastered the skin tones of non-gothy white people. So it may take some practice before I come up with anything I'm not embarrassed to show.

New Work By My Honey
Grey has a bunch of new work posted for viewing and sale, including my new favorite, "Within The Storm": a massive cube that, in his words, "represents five aspects of the Hurricane and being caught within it. Character Portraits: Nothing and Zillah
Zillah from Lost Souls, acrylic on canvas, 9" x 12", $75
Trying something new with these character portraits: I'm going to do them as individual paintings, but in small editions rather than one-of-a-kind, beginning with five of each. (Of course, since I'm doing them by hand, each one will be one of a kind; it just won't be a unique composition.) If people like them, I may do more of these and/or other characters.
I can't take full credit for the idea of painting character portraits; someone suggested it to me in e-mail a while back, and if I could find the e-mail or remember who wrote it, I'd thank them individually. If you're reading, Helpful Correspondent, thanks!
