Catching Up

Being on panels at Albuquerque's Bubonicon convention was a blast. Caught up with old friend David Gerrold and newer friend Jane Lindskold with whom I was on a panel centering on Alchemy. Co-judged their Costume Competition again.

On the downside, fell at home while trying to get to the door quickly to sign for a package. Fractured a toe in two places. It's been two months but it is still tender. Don't recommend it!

I'm going to get busy finishing the sequel to "Futurus Rex" after I get back from relaxing at New Mexico's premiere mineral springs resort Ojo Caliente. Soooo, hang in!

Hi Folks!
I enjoyed being a panelist and costume contest judge at this summer's Bubonicon in Albuquerque.
Great, fan-friendly convention with amazing panels. Broke a toe so been hobbling around (it is much better now). Will lead a big sing-along at the Albuquerque Folk Festival on Sept. 28th then back to writing the "Futurus Rex" sequel!

Bubonicon panelist

I will be on a couple of panels and co-judge the costume competition at Bubonicon 56 in Albuquerque August 22-24th... We will discuss subjects like the melding of science and magic (alchemy) and how we writers get into our headspaces and what those look like. Should be fun!

Been a while....

To be truthful, I had trouble concentrating on the sequel to "Futurus Rex" when Trump was re-elected and it has only gotten worse and worse. Even friends who voted for him have decided they made a mistake. I have spent so much time protesting, contacting my Congresspeople regularly (I live in a Blue state) and mourning what has become of this country that writing time is minimal.

Some writers can "escape" into their fictional worlds. With such a sad reality I've been unable to easily transport myself into the world of the novel ("Futurus Rex: Entrusted") and maintain concentration for very long. (Any other writers have this problem?)

Lately, I have been a little more adept at this so I hope to finish by the end of the year. Hope you will hang in!

Update

Well, with the state of American politics I've had to put the sequel to "Futurus Rex" aside in favor of being ultra-politically active against the Orange Excrement and the Muskrat! Spending all my waking hours fighting them. It's Rebels vs. The Evil Empire time and I'm working with local and national organizations.

Catching Up

I haven't posted for a long time. First, was working for Kamala to win then mourning Trump's win, then was ill. I am now getting back to writing the sequel to "Futurus Rex". Have gotten off Facebook because of Zuckerberg's groveling at the feet of the Orange Monstrosity but still have the "Futurus Rex" fan page up there. Somebody Else's Book!

Argh. It's always something! Goodreads has another Lynn Barker who wrote a book on "Erotic Bedtime Stories". Uh, not me but I can't seem to get action on getting it removed from my profile page. There is also a Carrie Lynn Barker... Can't help it. I have a short, simple name (It's really Alta Lynn but I got rid of the Alta a long time ago!!) Frustrating. I hope the author of that book will realize it is on my profile (seems to come and go) and will contact the powers that be here at Goodreads to have it put on HER profile.
