The antisemitism and anti Israelism has been going on for a very long time. Nothing new, but still shocking. These are from 2014.

Antisemitism from Europe

 I wish that Yaakov were here to give his wisdom, but here is a golden oldie from 2014 about the situation in Europe. It is sad and shameful what is happening there.
 I see the news about the Glastonbury Festival in England, and it is so sad and shameful and frustrating.. It is taking me much longer than I expected to recover from the sleep deprivation and anxiety of the last 2 weeks, But I finally slept through the night last night. Much love and wishes for peace and for all of our hostages to be released and for our soldiers to be safe.Wishing everyone a very good week ahead.

Sink the Sinai, a classic Dry Bones Golden Oldie

 I wish that Yaakov were here to give his wisdom. Here is a classic golden oldie that is a favorite of mine. Hoping that the peace will last, but still we have the Gaza problem.  Sink the Sinai 
This cartoon was from back in 1975.  Back in 1982 when Israel gave the Sinai back to Egypt, we were friends with an American official who was part of the negotiating team, and he told us that Israel tried to make Egypt take Gaza as part of the deal, and Egypt refused. They well knew what Gaza was like. So Israel got stuck with it. Let's hope that the situation in Gaza will be better soon, and that all of our hostages will come home and that we will lose no more soldiers there.
I finally had a nights sleep last night without sirens. But I woke up every 3 hours, maybe out of habit. I hope that this fragile ceasefire holds. We will probably still have missiles and drones from the Houthis,  and from Gaza and Hezbollah, but those are not the level of danger as the giant ballistic missiles from  Iran.

Hoping that the Ceasefire Holds

It looks like a major threat here in Israel, of a nuke from Iran, was neutralized now that there is now a ceasefire. I wish that Yaakov were here to give his wisdom. Here is an older cartoon that I found. Hoping that the peace will last, but still we have the Gaza problem.

I almost had a night of sleep, but the sirens came again early this morning, and we had 4 rounds of sirens here in central Israel. Very unfortunately, one of the 400 kilo missiles made a direct hit on a large apartment building in Beersheba and killed 4 innocent people. They were in their shelter room according to the Homefront rules, but the missile made a direct hit exactly on the shelter. It is pretty frightening to see what damage a 400 kilo missile can do.
I am so hoping that this peace will hold and that we can now do something about Hamas in Gaza. Israel is distributing food packages, but Hamas is shooting at their own people to try to keep them away from the distribution center. We are all praying for the 20 or so remaining live hostages to be released, and the 30 or so bodies too.Love, Sali, the LSW (Long Suffering Wife)

Trump and Bibi pull it off

It looks like our major threat here in Israel, of a nuke from Iran, was neutralized! Trump and Netanyahu pulled it off! Trump did it! I am super relieved. I found this cartoon from Yaakov just now. I wish he were here to comment for real on today's events. But, hopefully, maybe, he is watching. 
I wrote a long musing on the events and my feelings, I will put it under the cartoon, so you can skip it if you want and just enjoy this Dry Bones cartoon that I found. Also, thanks very very much to all who have contributed! I have not gotten around to personally answering. My anxiety level has been higher than normal this last week or so. Enjoy the Dry Bones cartoon from about half a year ago.

 

Sorry If this is a bit rambling, I have been a bit sleep deprived these last few days from siren warnings.I am not at all a religious person, but maybe I am becoming so, I am seeing miracles.  I really believe that God saved, and put Trump there for a purpose.  And that he just fulfilled it, and saved the world from a nuclear war. And Trump for sure, saved Israel from likely nuclear destruction.
I read a very poetic line today from a woman that I follow on Facebook. Sarah Tuttle- Singer, and it expresses well my feelings today"I’m somewhere between pride and panic and a pall of existential grief."
Well, back to the LSW....Here are some of my musings and observations, if you are interested. I am sitting and writing into an email,  at a bet cafe at a mall very near my apartment.  All of Israel's malls have very good public bomb shelters.  I could not stand to sit at home any longer. I went to the gym near me, at the mall, on Friday and it did my nerves a world of good.
But following attacks earlier this morning, almost everything has been closed. However, all food stores, and pharmacies, and some restaurants, and most cafés remain open.  All of the schools remain closed, so all of the children are at home.
There was another round of missiles about 8 am this morning.  I went to my mamad (safe shelter in the apartment]) as usual, and heard lots of booms. None super close to me though. 
It is a miracle that with so much destruction that these new bombs are causing,  there are very few casualties. So far...... please God. 🙏 Contrary to some rumors,  Tel Aviv is still standing and normal. But , yes, here and there, these missiles are able to destroy multiple buildings at a time. I saw a picture of a city block destroyed. It is not a danger of just falling debris or a roof and a room, being destroyed like it was before this last week.So.... I am fine.  I am having a bit of anxiety. Mostly I am going a little stir crazy. But hopefully this will all be over with soon. At least, if a siren goes off at the mall, I get to experience it with the comradery of other Israelis.  I miss that in my mamad. But it is comfortable there for for sleeping.  So, late morning here in Kafar Saba. Just finishing my fresh orange,  carrot juice mix. It has been an another night of mostly sleeping in the bomb shelter, and worrying about our neighbors. and getting used to a new reality for a while. Israel will prevail though. We are doing what the rest of the world would not, and taking some hits for it.

Sali the LSW here, I am posting Dry Bones Golden Oldies in the fond memory of Yaakov.

Well it has been an interesting night. The whole country was woken up by sirens at 3 AM. But the siren was much shorter than usual and was not accompanied by a loud siren alert on our phones. Instead we got a message to go to our safe spaces and to be prepared to stay there for an extended time. It was a strange tactic, as no missiles were yet launched at Israel, but put everyone on very high alert. Today, all activities have been cancelled, and it seems that Iran launched 100 drones at us that are due to arrive at about 10.30 to 11.30 AM. And then more, faster missiles after that.

I am making this posting early. I was planning to do it in the afternoon, just before Shabbat, but I will probably be in my safe room by then for an extended stay. We certainly do live in interesting times.

We are seeing images on TV of preparing the hospital underground parking lots with all of the hospital equipment and beds for the patients.

Thousands more soldiers have been called up, and I am praying for the safety of all of our soldiers and all of us. Here is a Dry Bones cartoon from 2014, but exactly what he probably would have done today.
