Lies vs Truth

But not much seems to change. We still hear the lies of starvation, genoside, and purposly shooting civilians etc, etc, in Gaza.

Here in Israel, the scent of a coming winter is in the early morning air despite the heat wave, and pomagranetes are abudant in the markets. (Signs of a soon to be Rosh Hashana, New Year.)

This cartoon is from 1994 and is one of many in Yaakov's big cartoon book collection available on Amazon called "Dry Bones Fights Back" Please check it out. I think it will be very relivent to these times., Wishing you Shabbat Shalom

I drew the cartoon back in 1994, 26 years ago.

Here is what Yaakov had to say about this cartoon when he first published it. Maybe it will give us hope to overcome....again

"After The Second World War we reacted to the Nazi horrors by trying to convince ourselves, and the rest of the world, that the "Holocaust" had been a "crime against humanity" instead of the expression of an ages-old and unique war to destroy the Jewish people.

It wasn't the German people who were responsible , we liked to think, it was the Nazis.

But like the Germans who cheered the vile acts of their beloved Nazis back then, today the Palestinian Arabs and their supporters around the world are cheering the vile acts of their beloved Hamas.

"Never Again" is not a wish. It is our pledge to fight any reappearance of the beast. And the beast is back."

We are living through weird and crazy times. Yaakov and I are/were not particularly religious or observant, but he was a firm believer in the book of Ezekiel and his prophecy. This is part of what he had to to say about this cartoon when he posted it 10 years ago. 

"When I came to Israel in the early seventies, I named my comic strip Dry Bones. That was because of Ezekiel's vision of the Dry Bones and the ingathering of the Jews to the Land of Israel. Want to know what awaits us? What comes next? Sit yourself down and read the Book of Ezekiel."
