Pythagoras Trees

My friend Francesco Mancini alerted me to these simple but elegant concept. So, I tried it with my class today and it was a great success. The students were too young to go into any geometry, but really enjoyed putting it together.

I’m in the NOA magazine

I’m delighted to say my “rhombic unit” is featured in the monthly NOA magazine #491. I was first featured in issue 140 and a few times since, but it’s still a rare honour to be published in Japan. They very kindly sent me half a dozen copies and apparently, I will possibly feature in the next issue.

Rock around the clock

A paper-folder of my reputation, rocking a club at quarter past midnight? Yes indeed! And sporting an Origami USA t-shirt into the bargain. Note the elegant “dressing room” ;)

Welcome feedback ;)

Had a lovely email from Amir…

Dear Mr. Nick Robinson,

Once I sent u an email and ask a question about a diagram of your designs. It was about the “container” of your book “Origami Bible”. You answered me patiently. I succeed to complete it. The other one was “star dish” which was amazingly nice. I like the simplicity and at the same time complex feature of your design. I wrote all of these as gratitude and appreciation. I live in Iran. 59 years old mechanical Eng. origamisophy (one who likes origami).

Happy folding and Best wishes

Amir

OrigamiZauber (Origami Magic)

I’m working on a new German language book alongside the talented German origami artists Evi Binzinger and Stefan Delecat. It will be a collection of attractive designs created by the two other authors, plus a few of mine and some traditional designs. I made the diagrams. Here are a few photos of my designs…

Ribena Rabbit

Have been folding a stop-frame model for an animated promo video for Ribena, featuring (purple) rabbits. Should be released sometime soon. Great fun working with the creatives at the Brass Agency in Leeds.ribena_rabbit
