1972 MGB. Blue Hill.
Paul Raspante owns the car. We caught up with it in Blue Hill, Maine. Did you ever read the Smell of Smoke story, that has an MGB as supporting cast? Reid Cunningham ran into a herd of MG's last summer, including a Magnette and several A's and B's.

Saab Sonett
From Reid Cunningham: Orange is perfect on this car. Overall, a beautiful restoration of an interesting sports car from the wedge era of TR7's, Fiat X/19's and others, with their pop-up lights and bold colors. The details all work, including the bullet side mirrors and the chrome gas cap –their curves contrasting with the angular body work. This one has a manual trans, and a quick search says it should have a V4 (with a modest 74 hp) driving the front wheels. Not stunning performance, but in line with an MGB of the era. AL: we have posted a Saab station wagon of this era...and that modified Saab 9-3 Turbo for sale in Brooklin, Maine.

Red whitewalls. Very period. We posted a TR6 from California, also with red shoes. There are a few TR6s on the block at Hemmings. We loved this c. 1965 TR4A stashed in an industrial garage in St Louis. And remember Trevor Pitchford's Spitfire?

c 1980 Dodge Power Wagon, Denver
From Markus Anstadt: "I came across this interesting Dodge Power Wagon in a Denver neighborhood. It's a dually, too. And yes, there are raccoons in the city."AL: Our favorite truck in Cambridge, Mass. is a Power Wagon. Haven't seen any raccoons in Cambridge but there is a flock of turkeys up the street, a massive encampment of Canada geese along the Charles River, and plenty of rabbits in the neighborhood. (Someone from the neighboring town said to me, "In Cambridge you got BUNNIES! In Somerville we got RATS!" We posted a Power Ram Prospector in Maine last Spring.

The Whale Wagons: 1990s Buick Roadmaster
Alex Emond: "This wagon was parked in front of my place in Banff today. Much more appealing, to me, than a van . Big V8 motor, so lots of power, but a ride comparable to a Rolls Royce–not that I'd know for sure. Long and wide, so super stable. The seats were a burgundy velour. I do know that, when choosing upholstery fabric, discretion is the better part of velour.
A sunroof that opens, and with the back seats folded down you have a king size bed. Very nice." AL: This generation of GM wagons were the last of the vinyl woodies. Here's a Wounded Whale we caught in Cambridge. That post has links to others. And here's Jay Leno's ride in a 1994 Buick Roadmaster.
