Kids & Beat Sheets

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #19| 10 Minute Novelist: Update #10

I spent most of my time this week editing. I only have fifty percent left on the last set of edits pending, and I’m hoping to finish that tomorrow. I had it scheduled for the weekend but decided to spend the time with my kids instead. I really liked the new Trolls movie. I was a fan way back then, and love the new version.

They are off for Spring Break, so I’m planning to wake up early and do some writing or editing before they...

#RainbowSnippets *~* March 11-12, 2017 *~*

We are about thirty percent into this story. Not sure where time’s going, but it’s moving fast. At some point, I’d need to give it some structure. Perhaps when I’m done with the fifty-two weeks. Will see what had happened by then.

Week 16 of 52: Luci’s POV [story continues right after the previous entry]

And talking about men that follow him, “Where’s Vincent?”

“I have no idea. Why was he here in the first place?”

So he had followed his command. Lucifer closed his eyes and let his mind wonder...

[Fridays with Favorites] Great Expectations

When I say Great Expectations, I’m talking about the 1998 movie with Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow. I have not read the original Dicken’s novel, but I’m thinking about it. I want to see how far removed the movie is from the original.

A friend I had a brief relationship with recommended this movie to be when we were in college. He always joked that it was our story, but we still good friends.

What I like the most is how Finn discovered his talent and how it relates to his relationships as a...

30 Weeks of Kink: Week #10 – 3/09/2017

Week 10: What are your hard limits?

Deciding my characters’ hard limits goes with the plot and their personalities. It’s something I decide before I start writing. I need to know what they like and how far they’re willing to go before it becomes and issue. Yes, you might think it’s good for this to take place on page, but I write characters that are comfortable with their sexuality. I don’t think I can psychoanalyze them fairly. I prefer when they talk to me voluntarily.

Other than scat and n...

More Outlines and Some Games

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #18

Okay. I’m still working on the outlines for my next two stories, so the sharing continues. After I wrote last Sunday’s post, I remembered about the Tarot outline. Stop scrunching your noses, it has nothing to do with dark forces or anything like that. It’s a fun way to break the monotony and get you thinking about your story. If you want to give it a try, here are the links. It’s a two-part series.

Monday Flash Fic – Cavalry – 03/06/2017

Cavalry

As I walked through the valley of death I observed the hands of those asking for clemency. They had served enough of their sentences to start rising into my kingdom. Some almost escaping the trap between realms to wondered around until their next cycle comes.

One pair of arms called my attention. I moved toward it as fast as I could. A wrist watch still ticked. This soul had been dropped here in error. I looked up to the skies and called for the cavalry. In a swift wave of color, the...

Outlines and New Stories

2017 #ROW80 Round 1: Check-In #17 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update #9

Knowing the next story I want to write doesn’t mean it’s easy to start writing it. Getting start it has always been the most difficult part for me. Perhaps because I have to gather my ideas in a way that makes sense before I can start working on a basic outline. Sometimes I only have one or two characters I want to work on and it takes some time to find a plot that fits or vice-versa.

One thing I do between stories is to read a...

#RainbowSnippets *~* March 4-5, 2017 *~*

Time to see what Lucifer is up to this week. His normally quiet during the week, but for the last couple of days, he had been rooting for his own story. Will see, maybe next year when Elliott’s story is completed.

Week 15 of 52: Luci’s POV [story continues right after the previous entry]

In reality, he only wanted to see Elliott happy. He had had that with Edgar for centuries. Lucifer laughed. He remembered having this conversation with his own father, but he was lucky enough when the demon p...

[Fridays with Favorites] Canva

Lately, I have been using Canva to make my graphics. It’s quick, easy, and a free substitute for Photoshop. If you’re looking for a nice addition to a blog post, an attention-grabbing facebook post, or a graphic for your blog tour, Canva is a great solution. They have options you can add and pictures you can buy if you’re looking for something more specific.

It’s not time-consuming which is a plus. Sometimes, the designer in me wants to play around and procrastinate, but the simplicity of th...
