We all experience fear at first, and it’s good to feel it at times. Fear reminds us we still respect and care for something enough that we don’t want to fail. The problem is when we allow fear to overpower who we are. We weren’t designed to have fear. We were designed to have love. Fear and love don’t abide together. #MMCM #MirthaMichelle

My first book #LettersToTheMenIHaveLoved is coming up on its 5th year anniversary in a month and a half. I still can’t believe how fast time flies. I self-published this book without little to no knowledge on the publishing world. All I had was a desire to accomplish a goal I had since I was a little girl. I was going through a trying time in my life, in which I felt completely alone, and I only found solace through writing. Although it was a painful time, I discovered my strength and the courage to face the disappointing parts of life. Now looking back there are many things I would’ve done differently 5 years ago, but I don’t take it any of it back. It’s not easy to go through life, learn to build yourself from nothing and then without guidance manage what you’ve been given. I’ve learned that every single person was designed with a purpose. Maybe, it’s taking you a little while longer to find yours, but trust me don’t look around for what’s already inside of you! Many times we have to experience pain in order to be polished. I myself, I am still being polished. I am still learning. Yet, I hope I am able to continue to share my gift and that many will continue to find strength, and inspiration through my words. #MMCM
