Friday Feast | My Meeting with a Celtic Chef
Welcome to a new year on Friday Feast! Whew! I can actually see the sun while I’m writing this post. We’ve had rain in my part of California since the day after Christmas. I’m sure you’ve all heard about the horrific storms here, too. Beginning on New Year’s Eve, power outages everywhere. We’re talking hours and days. There were no special meals, no recipes to try out. Each time I thought of a new recipe to share and photograph, the power would go out. An interesting time here on the west coast ...

Medieval Monday | Would You Dare Make the Journey? #Medieval #TimeTravel #Romance

If you’ve read a few of my older guest author interviews, one of the questions I ask is, “You’ve been given a golden ticket to time travel into the past. Whom would you meet and why?”
Sounds exciting, right? In truth, the thought of hurling through time and space is exhilarating and frightening. And what if I didn’t land in the place I wished for? Yet what happens if all goes well and I’ve arrived at Urquhart Castle, Scotland in the 13th century? And it’s raining? No. Let’s say it’s snowing and...

Medieval Monday | Word for January 2023

Welcome back to Medieval Monday!
It's been a couple months since I've shared a medieval word of the month. With all the celebratory events for Wishes Under a Highland Star, those medieval posts were set aside. Now, it's a new year and unique word: Collation. I thought this word is perfect for January. It takes a few weeks for me to settle back into my regular eating pattern after enjoying the holiday baking and cooking.
For those who are interested in the full description from Merriam-Webster ...

Medieval Monday | Winner from "Wishes Under a Highland Star" #Giveaway

Welcome to a new year in the Tavern! I hope your holidays were filled with joy, love, lots of food, and laughter. Our family had a fabulous time, though I did indulge in far too much sweets. Who doesn't at this time of year, right? I've tossed all the remaining cookies to the freezer. It's a new year, fresh start, and cookies are for the weekend. At least for this gal.

As promised, I'm announcing the winner of Wishes Under a Highland Star Giveaway. Thank you to all who left a comment or email ...

#Winter Newsletter

Friendships. This word resonated strongly with me during the month of December while reflecting on this year. However, I'd toss the word aside many times since I had no idea what it meant. Yes, I have lots of friends—some who I’ve known most of my life. Yet the more I fought against the “friendship” theme for my winter newsletter, the more the universe kept reminding me to take a hard look at my relationships with friends—new, old, and those who are walking another path. And to write about it!
