Coyote Bound Release

Coyote Bound 5 has a release date. Claiming a Beta Coyote releases July 16th. In the meantime, here is a snippet of what to expect.
I don't have the cover yet, but I've seen it. It looks okay.

Enjoy this, snippet.

“Buy you a round?” Claudia asked allowing her gaze to slowly slide over the black outfit and the thick ponytails cascading over her shoulders. Her brown eyes were the shade of smooth whiskey and preoccupied even as they swung to meet Claudia’s.

“Sure.” She smiled, her eyes lighting with interest.

“What are you drinking?” The shade of her gaze seemed wrong. The color a little muted, and Claudia wondered if it was the light or she wasn’t the woman Claudia thought she was.

“Just ginger ale,” she said and bent over the table. She looked down the length of the cue at Claudia before adding, “You want to play?”
“Sure.” Claudia threw her word back at her. “Be right back with those drinks.”

“I’ll be here,” she said and took a shot. She sank a couple of balls, and Claudia turned to head to the bar.

****
Kyra watched the woman go. She knew who she was, but Kyra doubted the mayor of Snowbury knew who she was without her black leather mask and the distinctive perfume she used to hide her very subtle but true scent.

She couldn’t help wondering what Claudia was doing this far from town in what was fast becoming jackal-wolf country.

She had had a meet with a jackal who was on his way out of town before his boss went down for running drugs. He was certain it wouldn’t happen with Dillinger dead, but he wasn’t taking chances.

If Kyra was smart, she’d be jumping ship, too, instead of allowing her emotions and an imagined debt to Dillinger to keep her on the case.

His replacement, Ava, had taken over in Dillinger’s death, but she was giving every impression that capturing Dill’s murderer and Russo was on the back burner while she got her kid out of town to someplace safe.

Pride Month

It's been a while since I posted. I know. I did do a piece for pride month. It was featured on the Evernight Publishing Blog.

Even in today’s society being a lesbian still raises brows as much as being gay does. Curious stares abound and that’s okay, but hate is unacceptable.

Love doesn’t come in colors—I don’t see color really which is one of the reasons I write interracial romance and why my characters are often neither black nor white. I’m neither. I’m Indian, black, and white. I see a rainbow rather than race, and I see the same when it comes to love.
The link below is to the rest of the piece.

Since I've written this post, I've made a great deal of progress on the book. But you can check out the post and an excerpt. Remember, its unedited and rough.

WIP Wednesday

Today's post is a brief look at one of my current WIPs.

I mentioned I had finished Coyote Bound 5. I have a tentative release date for that. I’m working on 6 as well as a new Assassins book. I don’t know which will take off for me, but I’ll be working on both until one catches fire.

For the Assassins book I’m not sure whether it will be a trilogy or a series. I’m thinking of focusing on Alexandra, “Alexi” and I have a good idea for the storyline. However, I have a few good ideas for characters from Ace and Devin’s team as well floating around in my head which is why I’m not sure whether I’ll do two separate trilogies or just a series. It’s hard to decide right now.
I can tell you that after working on this last night I've already made some changes. Aurora's name is one of them as well as her romantic status. The story is obviously quickly evolving, but the ideas for Coyote Bound 6 are too.

Any thoughts, You can use the comments box below to let me know what you’d like to see.

Well, here is a snippet of the Assassins book. Don’t forget, this is a rough draft. So, overlook the errors.

How I Unplug

I enjoy writing, but I do need to unplug and recharge at times. I enjoy doing several things as a matter of course, but for unplugging there are a few things that top list of activities.

I love to read. I mostly enjoy reading the kinds of romances I write. However, I read romance as my top genre which means I can and do read anything from contemporary to urban fantasy. I read lesbian, gay, and straight stories because there is something to be enjoyed in them all for me.

I also like reading non-romances such as Sandra Brown. I’m still new to her but I love the mystery she writes. I don’t read a lot of YA because I prefer hotter romances though I’ve been known to enjoy sweet romances. I enjoy listening to books too. Some of my favorites besides the ones in the picture, Harper Bliss, Radclyffe, and Ali Vali to name a few.
