Romantic Friday
A romantic evening can be almost anything we can conceive of
from a simple walk to dinner and a movie. Here in my city there is almost
always something to do. Good food is almost always a good thing for a date. We
have some nice restaurants with something for every taste. One of the places I’ve
dined at is Earnest’s Orleans Restaurant.
The atmosphere is okay, they had nice cloths on the table
and the lights were rather low. The steaks were okay, but the iced tea was fantastic.
The service was okay too.
I heard about the Vintage at Eldorado, Eldorado is a river
boat casino with a nice view of the Red River. The view isn’t visible from the
restaurant which I think is too bad.
Red Lobster is good. I love the cheddar bay biscuits but who
doesn’t. The lobster and shrimp are good.
Casa Jimador if your vein runs to Mexican food. I’m not the biggest
fan but I’ve been known to indulge on occasion.
Fertitta’s was okay. I haven’t been there in a while. I’m not
sure if it’s still open.
Course you can go out and dine and enjoy being served and have
a night off from the dishes. Those are the perks of going out. Also, you get to
dress up a little and there is a bit of specialness to the moment other than
sitting and staring into each other’s eyes.
Distractions can be limited if you turn off the phone and
just focus on each other because that’s what going out for date night is all
about right?
You can linger over dessert with coffee and just talk,
reconnect. Being in love isn’t all about crawling into bed and savoring warm
skin. It’s about connection, a bond that forms soul-deep for some of us. It’s
about getting to know that special someone—what they really think, who they
are, what their ambitions are, where they want to be in a few years.
Are they looking for a good time tonight or are they
searching for a companion to spend the rest of their life with?
A quiet dinner out can help you find these things out when in
the early days of a relationship. And they are the best times to figure out if
this just another ship to pass in the night or someone you want to spend
several weeks or a lifetime with.
I don’t think people talk enough about what they want in a
relationship or what they expect from the other person. They go with the
feeling and later down the line realize they aren’t getting what they were
looking for.
So, talk, by all means. Stare into each other’s eyes, hold
hands, kiss, but talk. Get to know the person as well as you can. Love is an emotional
connection not a physical one.

WIP Wednesday
This week I'm doing a final read through of Assassin Core 2 before submitting. I'm getting good vibes from my beta readers, s hopes are high about submitting it by Monday. I'm torn about where to go next. Another trio of shorts, Coyote Bound 7 or Assassins Core 3. I do have a title for book 2. Well, sort of. I have a couple of titles.

I’m working on last edits for Coyote Bound 6. I like the story and the MCs Dylan and Montana....
I’m working on last edits for Coyote Bound 6. I like the story and the MCs Dylan and Montana. Dylan was mentioned in the last book and I liked the character for so much I had to bring her back. This story wraps up the arc from the last story but starts a new brief arc that will be ended in the next book.
I brought back some of the other old characters as well. Some of those characters will be getting their own stories which will likely be shorter.
I’m also working on Assassins Core 2 still. Edits have slowed progress, but I should have it finished soon.
Here is a peek from where I am so far. This event takes place after Tatiana’s grandmother is kidnapped.
Alexi stared at him, six-foot-two inches of slim male with honey-brown skin and neatly cut short black hair. His brown eyes were blazing with question and his body tense like an animal ready to strike.
She could almost care, but her give a damn was turned off today.
“Pardon?” Alexi asked with a frown.
“My father is already planning on how to kill you,” he snarled. “Where is my fucking mother?”
“I should know, why?” Alexi asked coolly. “If your father can’t keep up with his own wife, why should I be keeping tabs on her? She’s nothing to me.”
Daryl’s brown eyes were filled with anguish. “I know you know, especially after last night.”
“What part of last night are we talking about?” she asked, lowering her voice an octave. “The part where you stood there like a dickless fuck and allowed your father and uncle to threaten your daughter? Or the part where your uncle grabbed my woman like she was some prick on the street?”
He stepped up to her desk. “He wouldn’t hurt her.”
“If believing that makes you sleep better at night, keep thinkin’ it,” she snarled. “But we both know he and Banks were giving me a warning that there was a price on her head.”
Daryl looked away. “Send her home, and she’ll be safe.”
“You call your daughter and tell her she has to choose between what she wants and what the family wants,” Alexi told him in a pitiless tone. “Tell her you’re going to stand by and allow your father to go through with the hit on her if she doesn’t choose you.”
