Would I Be Happier if I Were Rich?
I’d like to be rich, but I would also like to be happy. In addition, I would like to be healthy and have my family intact.
To Me, From Me.
The Change in my Pocket
Regarding the smaller, and on going, alterations to my continued evolution.
I Choose Me

I choose me, today and every day after
I choose to stand, in spite of you
In spite of how unworthy you make me feel
I choose to love me, to want me
I choose to live
I choose me, today and every day after
I choose me, now and forever
Me, because I am replaceable to everyone but me
Me, irrespective of deadlines and urgent messages
Me, because my dreams come first
I choose to thrive
I choose me, now and forever

Dear Shanice L
Paradox

Humans are a chaotic tumble of circumstance, perspective, and feelings. A messy tangle of violent boilings overflowing.
We clash away like the tips of a crystal. Rigid facets. Points pushed by love, pulled by fear. Each believing their facts to be Truer than the others.
I possess a horde of crystal Truths. I examine them in the palm of my hand. Rightness battles.
One rosy crystal I study daily: My children cry for me, guilt pausing my prose, severing the thread. My pages call to me, necessity severing play, guilt weaving the thread. A shifting balance of responsibilities. A seesaw of aspirations. Tipping this way and that.
Closing my hands around my crystalized contradictions, I look inward. A dawning realization: The rocky paradoxes are not in my hands. They are within me.
I am a paradox.
I stand on the precipice of two slopes. Peering down both sides. Seeing the good and the bad. The rights and the wrongs. I do not slide down one or the other, but rather pivot. Walk the narrow Between.
Kind, but not Nice. Tough, but not Hard. Holding Accountable, but not Shaming.
Love over Hate, one foot over the other.

It’s Time To Follow My Heart after The Success of Hard Graft
Heartbreak, Home & Hip Hop

There’s a new story out on Love & Literature this week and it’s already making waves. Think Love & Basketball meets Love and Hip Hop and you’ll understand why we’re so excited.
The first chapter of the story is called POPULAR and follows Allison Gaine’s as she frequents the night scene in New Orleans, Lousiana as a college student. People know her and she knows some people, which eventually lands her in the graces of a popular local rapper.
Their interaction is friendly, although Allison admittedly has a bit of a crush. That’s not a problem, but her already having a boyfriend at the time makes things…interesting.
You just have to read it.
Chapter 2 will be out this Sunday and every Sunday throughout October. You’ll have to subscribe to Love & Literature to keep up.
What is Love & Literature?
In case you’re wondering, Love & Lit is another storytelling platform started by CRY. On that platform, we select writers from all over the world to share intimate stories of joy, pain and overcoming obstacles.
Writers are given four chapters to share their story which we release every Sunday. Each month, we select a new writer and start the process over again.
The stories have been beautiful and sad and inspirational, sometimes in a single chapter.
Check it out and subscribe if you like what you read.
