A game of tones
How you say it is just as important as what you say. Writing is a game of tones. Personality, pace, how you keep the reader engaged are all dictated by tone, at least in part. Master the how and watch your writing improve.

As the week comes to an end, take some time to reflect on whether or not you’re keeping the promises you’ve made to yourself. We’re so quick to put things off or let things go, but we need to look at those broken promises as a betrayal.
We owe ourself more.

Don’t ignore your offline writing community
Conferences are great, but get active in your local community. Go to readings, attend book launches regardless if you’re familiar with the author or their genre of writing. Join local writing groups where you meet in person. Other writers should be your first true fans (not counting friends and family) and opportunities to spread your work come to life when you’re willing to engage with the offline community.

Study your craft
Don’t get bored with the process. So many writers are trying to break through and distinguishing yourself on quality of work is one way to stand out. Improving your quality takes studying your craft. Take an editing course on study.com. Take a weekend scriptwriting course or one of those masterclasses. Take a college course on creative writing at your local institution or online.
The goal is to never stop learning.
