Welcome!

Hey, you found me! Don’t be fooled by the seeming tranquility. I’m scheming. Trust me. Or maybe you shouldn’t trust me. Just sayin’. It’s always a bit crazy at our house.

I’m a mom to four great kids, one husband *coughbiggestkidofallcough* and two dogs.

The dogs have their own page here. The kids don’t. This is my spot and I’m keeping it. Of course, it may mean giving up the last bit of sleep available in my day, but whatever.

I write. A lot. I just finished my first manuscript (a contemporary romance with the working title Moms on Missions), which I’ll soon be querying. I’m currently working on two others in the same series, and there’s another work in progress: a sci fi romance.

I edit for four professional authors, beta some hobby writers and tutor a bunch of newbies. Love it.

I got my start four years ago, in fan fiction, and I’m proud of it.

FYI, if you see promotional info, a review or an interview with an author on my site, I’ve either read the book and given it 4 to 5 stars, or I endorse this author’s work.  I don’t promote just anyone. I stand behind the quality of the authors I recommend. Please don’t just send me your ARC as I get a lot of them. Ask me first, and if I can fit your book into my schedule, I’ll gladly read it. I don’t share books that I rate 3 stars or less, but I will always give the author a constructive critique.

The house is messy. My garden’s overflowing with blooms, but weedy. The grass always needs cutting, provided it’s not buried beneath snow. This is Canada, eh? The dogs are walked, the kids get fed, the hubbs hasn’t killed me yet, the books I read I review, and somehow, the people in my head manage to make it into stories. Occasionally, I embarrass my kids by doing Zumba in front of their friends. It’s just how I roll.

Thanks for hanging out with me. I hope you’ll look around, get to know my friends and maybe pick up a tip or two to make your busy day a bit less hectic.

Hello and welcome to my blog ;-)

I live in Australia, I’m a mom and my profession is Nursing! I decided to do this Blog to express myself more out into the Universe ~ I can be a bit shy and hold alot of myself within! It’s baby steps and I am learning as I go but I really am enjoying putting some of myself down to share…mainly for my “Sticky Little Leaf” my beautiful son! He is a talented writer, who is forever correcting my english lol as I’m not very good and I hope to inspire him to believe in himself more xoxox

My job has allowed me to meet some amazing people over the years, especially in working with the older generation ….I love to hear their stories about their life ~ where their from and what they’ve done in their lifetime!

When I was younger I use to write Poetry but stopped in my 20′s…..recently I have been inspired to start again, I’m not great but am enjoying expressing myself again!

Also I have an addiction called reading!!!  In books I do believe “You can loose yourself and find yourself there too…share in great minds, actions and undertakings…I love it when the words just reach out and grab you”!

Exposure Blog Tour: A Slice of Fiction

A Slice of Fiction:

Obviously I love to read; “Have books will travel!” (My Kindle app has eased the pain of sitting at red lights & doctor offices.) For me, reading is an escape into a story that lets me drift away for a short period of time, something that we all need once in a while, and in some cases every day. I like reading various genres but if it’s too farfetched or extremely mushy, it’s not for me. I want to be on the edge of my seat when reading, either from angst or laughter, you know it’s a good book when you are either shaking your Kindle (my poor Kindle) or snaughling (snort/laughing).

Besides reading my other immense passion is music, as in ‘don’t get me started we could be here all day discussing artists’ lover. One of my favorite quotes from a song (Hip Hip Chin Chin by Club Des Belugas) about music and life is, “The Beat, The Driving Force That Holds Our Lives Together.” It speaks volumes, so many volumes that I had it tattooed on me! I have several different play lists that I use for different points of the day, my mood and when I am reading. My all-time favorite artist or albums to listen to are; Ella Fitzgerald, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Justin Nozuka, D’Angelo, The Civil Wars, the soundtrack to the movie W.E. and covers by The Vitamin String Quartet. Listening to music while reading just enhances the book just like the movies, music can just set the scene!

Some of my other interests are (mini dating form here); anything pertaining to the UK (Anglophile in the house!), traveling, art, museums, photography, laughter, sarcasm, tattoos, random facts, and Doctor Who, The Golden Girls and Family Guy. Family & Friends are extremely important to me, they inspire me each day.

I look forward to giving my perception on books I review and to relay author’s or character’s interviews with you, oh, and the music that I like to pair with them! Get your read on!
