New Teaser! Talking After Midnight
Today, I'm sharing the third teaser from my forthcoming novel!
Talking After Midnight will be my first co-authored novel with Morgan Locklear since 2014 and this book reminds us both of Exposure in a few ways. There's comedy and romance, but there are also moments of drama and tension.
While Exposure took place on a Hollywood blockbuster movie set, this new story will take us all behind the scenes of an up and coming syndicated radio talk show.
Add Talking After Midnight to your Goodreads TBR today to receive more excerpts, the cover and blurb reveal, pre-order links, release event news, and promotional giveaway invitations.

World Read Aloud Day
Today is #WorldReadAloudDay
For those who may not be aware, Morgan Locklear was born legally blind. When we first began dating back in high school, I discovered that he wasn't a recreational reader. Not because he didn't enjoy books, but because he believed his eyesight limited his ability to do so.
As an enthusiastic reader, my solution was both simple and eager. I offered to read books aloud with him, so we could enjoy stories together. And I didn't break us into the activity lightly. The first book we read together was It by Stephen King. That gave us 1,116 pages to figure out if we had the stamina to keep going with other books.
Fast forward thirty years ...
Over time, Morgan has gone on to read many, many books without me. But we still make time to read books together. We usually choose to read in the evenings, once the chaos of the day is behind us. It's a great way to lock ourselves away, and relax as a couple. I think I speak for both of us when I say that reading novels together is a cherished experience.
Right now, we're reading The Raven by Sylvain Reynard, and are having a great time in the Underworld of Florence, Italy. Tonight, we'll be moving through Chapter Thirty-nine ...
"William was conscious of the tension in Raven's body, but she accepted his touch. He tried not to be distracted by the warmth and softness of her form, or the delight he had in wrapping himself around her.
He'd never held a woman this way before. He'd never asked a woman to tell him her secrets or share her hidden pain.
Raven was different."

World Introvert Day
My New Year's resolution for 2020 is to share more of my day to day life online (within reason of course).
Today, I'm easing into it by celebrating World Introvert Day.
My name is Jenn, and I've been an introvert since 1984. Before that, I spent the first 10 years of my life talking nonstop. Seriously. My parents used to beg me to take just a 5 minute break from chatting. Then one day, I went into my shell and decided it was an okay place to be. Come to think of it, this was around the same time I discovered creative writing.
Not that being introverted is carefree. We all know the challenges.
In college, someone decided I wasn't chatty enough during an elevator encounter in our apartment building. He stepped off the elevator and then told the entire 15 story community that I was a real snubber. It didn't take long for word to get back to me on that. My true friends helped me take the episode in stride, and turned the insult into an endearment, calling me The Snubber until graduation.
But even all these years later my quiet nature can still be misunderstood from time to time. Just a matter of weeks ago, during a meeting, after being asked a yes or no question and replying with my one word answer, the room was then informed that I'm frugal with my words. I won't lie, that remark bristled me. Not because it was true. It stung because I felt singled out for not being someone else.
That's probably why I've always liked Twitter so much. I'm just a 140 character type talker. (BTW, you can find me there - @RandomCran.)
I'm quiet, but I'm a nice and (mostly) even keeled person. I sit back and observe my environment. I let my thoughts percolate before I put them out into the universe. I'm less anxious in smaller groups than at parties. I have to psych myself up for social interactions. And I admire fierce extroverts. Just look at who I'm married to.
So if you see me somewhere out there in the world and I'm quieter than you'd expected, I promise it isn't because I'm snubbing you.
I'm just waiting to for you to say hello.❤
