AM PM - DLF Galleria - Gurgaon - GuruGram
I was talking to a friend the other day about how DLF Galleria market despite having great eateries does not enjoy the same food hub level as Sector 29. My friend reasoned that DLF Galleria is not meant as a party place or a place where you would want to go with large groups. Its setting is more intimate, the seating spaces constrained and enclosed.
So imagine my surprise when I reach AM PM, a recent addition to the Galleria's food places to find generous seating layouts and large outdoor spaces. I went there with a friend on Wednesday night when the band The Third World was playing some awesome rock music. I am not a huge fan of this type of music, but I do appreciate a change and like the fact that the cafe has taken pains to invite someone to energize the evening.
Drinks
A special cocktail menu of the place has been designed by Yangdup Lama. So I asked the bartender to recommend one from the list with a bias towards Whiskey. This is a trick thing because all the cocktails look so awesome and their descriptions so interesting that you want to have them all. So to make things easy, I approached the bartender to make a choice for me and narrowed down things to whiskey. He recommended Dirty Scotsman at Indian Harem, a name which enticed the writer in me. It's description reads, the aged whiskey rocks, and rolls in the arms of exotic Indian spices like mint, ginger, cinnamon and sun-kissed lemons. The insatiable thirst of Scotsman muddles the waters.
Let me tell you, I was apprehensive about cinnamon in my Scotch, but when I sipped the chilled steel glass, it was too good. It complimented the flavor of the whiskey but too much ice, though had a soothing effect but somewhat diluted the spices.
Starters
Bruschetta is something I am never fond of. My friend had some and he also ordered Chaat at AMPM. The Chaat was quite good but not of much help if you are nursing a drink. Ranjodh Singh, who manages the kitchen here, is the person to whom I consulted to recommend the food, as the menu is quite vast. He got us a bite of Bhel Puri, which is an all time favorite. On his suggestion, I tried Bacon DimSum which tasted better than the chicken ones I prefer.
The fried chicken is a must if you have ordered a beer. It has almost zero oil and is soft yet crunchy. I didn't really enjoy the honey chili chicken, I don't know why. It was cooked okay and tasted okay still it was not that great.
Dinner
At AMPM Indian dinner is more of fun than a daily ritual. We all eat too much of snacks nibbles, only to avoid the proper meal. So the team here offers you a portion of chicken or dal or mutton with two pieces of bread or rice. Just the amount which is required for a complete meal. I got butter chicken, two pieces nicely set on two rotis with gravy in a bowl. My friend, the veggie, got Dal in two cute shot glasses.
Dessert
If you are at AM PM, you got to try the Chocolate Bomb. The server brings this cute little ball to your table and pours hot caramel sauce over it. The shell breaks and voila, you get a walnut brownie, vanilla ice cream and of course Nirvana.
Lickables/Shakes
I don't know why they call Shakes, lickables, but it is an interesting concept. I have heard a lot about it so decided to order one. If you want to decide one to try on basis of pictures, it would be a real tough choice. It took me some time to order one, as these are very heavy and fulfilling, you can't expect to consume more than that. I ordered Magnum Upside Down, which is your basic chocolate shake with ice cream, magnum ice cream, cookies and almonds. Fully loaded, so much so that it can be your full meal too.

Window Shopping For Loans hurts your credit score
Window shopping is taken very seriously by some shoppers when they visit markets or malls. This isn’t surprising when it comes without any costs attached. However, the same analogy does not apply everywhere and especially when you are in the market for a loan for your small business. Each window you make some inquiry ends up lowering your credit score and making you and your small business a little less creditworthy.
The impact of a clean credit history, a track record of timely repayments, and impeccable relationships with lenders could easily be offset by serial window shopping. The result is that you end up paying a higher interest rate than someone with a similar credit and risk profile as lenders have indeed started to consider your credit score not only for the initial sanctioning process but also to determine the rate of interest.
So how does casual scouting for loans result in higher costs?
When you approach multiple lenders for your loan in a ‘spray & pray’ strategy, each lender will pull up your credit score to know your credit profile and credit history. Each such ‘bureau pull’ by the banks and NBFCs brings your score down if that inquiry does not result in an actual loan. The reason why the application did not conclude into a loan is not relevant. You may have turned down the terms offered or postponed your borrowing decision, but still, this impacts your credit score. In addition to this, there is an inquiry section in the credit report that shows all loan inquiries made by you with any lender. This again leads to the creation of a poor perception of being credit hungry leading to an entirely avoidable pain.

The ProblemOnline platforms for securing business loans have proliferated in recent times. These offer a convenient service for both lenders and small businesses in terms of loan origination. More often than not, these companies are actually doing you more harm than good – the moment you apply on their websites, they forward your application simultaneously to multiple banks and NBFCs in a Scattershot Strategy. This indiscriminate spreading of your loan application then leads to multiple pulls of your bureau report. Imagine the collateral damage done by this open broadcasting! Banks are also very wary of lending to someone whose bureau report shows multiple inquiries in the recent past. Another problem not necessarily relating to the cost of funding that arises is that multiple inquiries invite unnecessary queries from lenders, which increases your administrative costs and needlessly wastes your time.
The Solution
One solution to restrict these multiple credit inquiries is to get your own credit report because that does not impact your score. CIBIL provides you the facility to download your credit report for free once in each calendar year. However, many banks and NBFCs will still pull it themselves as they do not rely on reports provided by the borrowers.
At Loan Frame, we assist small businesses like yours in getting their own credit reports, which helps preserve their credit score. In addition to this, we NEVER broadcast an application. We expend a lot of effort in studying each application thoroughly including reviewing the financial records and bank statements. This helps us to understand the true merits of an application and know exactly which lender is best suited for an applicant’s business loan needs. Further, we undertake targeted inquiries with the borrower to know what kind of business loan will suit their requirements in the best manner. Our proprietary ‘LenderMatch’ algorithm logs and retrieves policies of multiple lenders across the country and is able to connect small business loan applicants to the right lender. This matching, combined with a rigorous process of hand-holding ensures that the documentation is up to the mark leads to a higher willingness by the lender to accept a credit score pulled by the applicant.
In this way, not only does the chance of success of small businesses go up, but they are also in complete control of their bureau score, which in turn leads to approved loans at reasonable cost.
Contact Loan Frame now for personalized advice on how to get the best interest rate either for your new loan or for refinancing your existing loan at a lower rate. We have solutions for small and medium businesses from all sectors and for all types of loans.

The Clock Tower - Golf Course Road Gurgaon/Gurugram
On the Golf Course Road, just right opposite IBIS Hotel likes a gem, almost hidden from plain sight. To reach The Clock Tower you have to take turn the left after the Faridabad turn (the one opposite Horizon Drive). This place is nestled in between the posh DLF residences.
The first thing I noticed when I entered the place was a long drive and parking space. I mean, how many times we get comfortable parking space to park our vehicles?
As you walk up to this eatery set in a stand along the building, it looks like you are entering a medieval European tower, complete with high ceilings, glass lights and heavy usage of wood and stone. The architecture just takes you to another time.
Being a stand-alone building, the property has featured multiple outdoor seating options including one on the terrace which should be terrific during good weather. Unfortunately, when I visited the place, it was quite hot to sit outside and gaze through the Gurgaon skyline. So we sat inside in a wonderful ambiance and comfortable lounge seating.
We went for aa group get together to try out the place. In starters, we had Chicken Satay, Double fried Pork, Chicken 65 and Barbeque Chicken Pizza. Chicken 65 and Pork were something I enjoyed with my Beer. The Pizza was okay and the Satay was neat and tasty but not that extraordinary as Chicken 65. My recommendation, don't miss the Chicken 65 and if you like Pork, go the Double fried pork too.
Starters
The veggies amongst us ordered Dahi ke Kebabs, Jalapeno Poppers, Spinach Pizza and Spring Rolls. You can easily avoid the Spring Rolls, as you have much better options like the Poppers which were very tasty. The Dahi ke Kebabs had nuts and dry fruits and were cooked just perfect. As for the pizza, I liked the Spinach idea but then the chicken always tastes better to me so I would recommend the barbecue chicken Pizza.
Main Course
Grilled Fish was yum and so was the Chicken Stroganoff (served with rice). I liked the Noodles but avoided the Thai Curry and Rice enjoyed by friends. They, however, liked the combo. I think the grilled fish was very well grilled and presented with butter. Made my day that one.
Desserts
In desserts, we had a slice each of chocolate cake and brownie with Vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was good if I had to compare the chocolate cake was way better than the brownie but I have had better cake than this. Also, if served with ice cream, it is always better to heat up the cake or brownie a bit for that extra taste. This was missing.
The Clock Tower is a nice place for long pending catch ups and group get togethers. It provides the right setting and great food and drinks.
Nearest Metro Station - Rapid Metro Station is right outside this placeLandmark - Direct opposite to Hotel Ibis next to DLF Phase 5 residences

The Punjab Kitchen Gurgaon
Gurgaon has an overwhelming floating population with hundreds of people living away from home to work here. The Punjab Kitchen is serving lip smacking home style food. The packaging is quite good and as the name suggests, it does remind me of Punjab.
TPK, as it is mostly called, is akin to FoodVook and Yumist but has far better value and taste. I ordered food on a Friday, a non-veg simple thali, which had mutton, rice, eggs, and paranthas. The order was delivered well on time and packaged quite well. The food was hot and fresh.
Non-Vegetarians have to keep in mind that the Thali is not usually available on Tuesdays and Saturdays. So you should check before ordering. The food is simply awesome and they keep coming up with some discount schemes or promotions so definitely check up on that.
I liked the mutton and the portions were quite good. In sweets, they added chocolate nutties which were a pleasant surprise.
I asked the owner, Amit about his concept and vison for this venture and he emailed me a response,
"With Gurgaon becoming the center of corporate India, there is a great influx of office workers from all over the country. Despite its cosmopolitan reputation, with its choice of lunch and dinner options, where most are produced in masse in commercial kitchens, the city has a shortage of options for good, nourishing home cooked food. This is where TPK aka The Punjab Kitchen comes in. All of TPK’s lunches and dinners are actually cooked at home with fresh ingredients, in small batches by a smaller team of people who truly love cooking, and delivered to your doorstep, as if personally by your mother! As with all home cooking, TPK’s meals are cooked with the purpose of feeding and pleasing a family, a large one in this case”
If anyone wishes to order from this place, they can check out the website www.thepunjabkitchen.com

Unveiling of Nelofar Currimbhoy's second book “Eyes of the Healer”
Nelofar Currimbhoy along with Bloomsbury her publishing house hosted an evening soiree to celebrate the unveiling of her book “Eyes of the Healer”. The theme of the book set the pace and the aura of the evening. There was an unmistakable enchanted feeling to the party that took place at Long Champ, Hotel Taj Mansingh. The highlight of the evening was a Chapter of the book read out in the resonant voice of Actor Kabir Bedi in the presence of, Theatre Actor and Lyricist Piyush Mishra. The guest list was extensive Maneka Gandhi Nelofars L.S.R. alumni, Mrs. Salma Ansari wife of the vice-President of India were among the guest of the evening.
The evening also revealed the potential of the writing and the many shades it could take. A dance performance by Preeti Jaideep Mehta to lilting music as a backdrop to two chapter of the book read out was a sensory treat for the guests. It was Composed by Rajiv Choudhry.
It was also a revelation of Nelofar's multifaceted creative interests, with the showing of a surreal audio-visual choreographed by her to symbolize the poem.
Eyes of the Healer is a saga in verse that holds you spellbound with its engaging rhythm of words and narrative. It is the story of Govinda a young man who challenges the boundaries of the mind, to soar through the spiritual Universe in search of divinity and his muse Maya, a devoted young woman who spins her universe around him and redefines the fruition of love.
Shahnaz Husain with Maneka Gandhi at the "Eyes of the Healer" Book launch
With Eyes of the Healer, Nelofar Currimbhoy guides the reader through a landscape that resonates with palpable human emotions. With surprising and unsettling detail, Currimbhoy pens a story of human fragility, of love and temptation, of spiritual journeys through limitless realms. Eyes of the Healer is a saga in verse that lifts our transcendent souls past perfunctory existence; a testament to our infinite potential. A book that will stay with you for a long time.
Salma Ansari, wife of the vice-President of India unveiled the book
'Eyes of the Healer ', is indeed a unique piece of work and perhaps may not have a parallel in Indian English writing. This is an extremely individualistic form of writing, experimental in nature, it is a brave attempt at a time when popular fiction is the order of the; here is an author who has written not for the numbers but simply to connect to her inner soul and her creative limits. Interestingly the writing adapts to Indian dance forms and has in it the makings of a dance drama. That is in fact how Nelofar hopes to see it eventually. If wishes could be true, perhaps off-Broadway someday. With its deep spiritual note running through the narrative, it is not surprising that the word ' prayer ' comes up repeatedly in comments from those who have read it. Reading Eyes of the Healer is a spiritual experience. It is not a book that you put away. It will stay with you for a long time.
Author Nelofar Currimbhoy with Actor Kabir Bedi

Her major fiction book is simmering for some time now but she estimates another year before she puts the saga love story into the world. Yes! There is still more a light comedy and plenty of Hindi poetry. Being from Lucknow I am absolutely bilingual she says. I also believe deeply in the Indian Languages. I have been published in Malayalam, Hindi, and Bengali. I really would like everyone to be able to read my writing.

Shahnaz Husain with Maneka Gandhi at the "Eyes of the Healer" Book launchWith Eyes of the Healer, Nelofar Currimbhoy guides the reader through a landscape that resonates with palpable human emotions.
Salma Ansari, wife of the vice-President of India unveiled the book'Eyes of the Healer ', is indeed a unique piece of work and perhaps may not have a parallel in Indian English writing.

Chutney By Noodal Town - Rajouri Garden, Delhi
Ordered from this place for dinner. Earlier, I was planning to visit the place which is in the main Rajouri Market.
But last minute program change resulted in a delivery order. The mood of the day was Chinese, so we ordered some Chowmein, Manchurian gravy and Spring Rolls. The food was quite good but delivery took some time, so my advice would be to order well in time.
Chutney by Noodal Town has a diverse menu offering a good variety of quick munchies and fast food. They have the traditional fast food menu with South Indian, Italian and Chinese dishes.

Moti Mahal Delux - Sector 50 Gurgaon
Recently went to lunch at this recently opened Moti Mahal at Good Earth City Center Gurgaon. It is a cute little casual dining place perfect for relaxed outings with friends or family. Moti Mahal is renowned for its Tandoori dishes and this is what I aimed for taste spotting.
For started we ordered the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Dahi Kebabs first. Dahi Kebabs were okayish but the chicken plain awesome. It was spiced right and prepared right. Maybe it is my own bias towards non vegetarian dishes, I liked them more. We also tried Lahsooni Tikka and Murg Malai Tikka but the Tandoori Chicken Tikka is the best of the lot.
In main course we had Murg Bemisal and Butter Chicken, both of them quite good. But if I were to recommend one, I would say do try Murg Bemisal.

Marshmallow Cakes & More - PitamPura, North Delhi
Nikhil Chawla has created this small but excellent bakery in Pitampura, Delhi which is a must visit. The young entrepreneur has worked hard for this dream and it shows. He takes extra care for hygiene ad quality and is always humble towards his clients.
I got some pastries packed for home. He suggested an assorted mix and each one was simply amazing. Although, if I had to pick my favorite it would be the chocolate pastry. Rates are quite reasonable and basically, you get value for your money. The owner has made sure to keep a wide variety at the bakery to cater to different tastes.
