Change

If, as they say, our thoughts create our world, then trying to change the world is theequivalent of a TV broadcaster trying to change the programme that has already been transmitted. Both are extremely difficult, if notimpossible.

Instead oftrying tochange what has alreadybeen created, we must send out a new signal. We must change our ownthoughtsin order to changethe world.

Pictograms and Alphabet

I must have missed the class in school where they taught us about word types (Nouns and Pronouns,Verbs,Adjectives,Adverbs,Prepositions, Articles and Conjunctions) because, apart from Nouns and Verbs, I have no clear idea of the meaning of all this stuff. But here’s the thing – it never stopped me from writing these articles!

That aside,I decided to read around a bit, and it seems that these word typesthingies are all aspects of the Alphabetic System, which is about units of speech being repre...

Mastication

Some thoughts should be kept secret, some should be stifled in the crib, some put in chains and thrown into endless depths. Despite all precautions – this one escaped all of these fates and fled from me onto the page.

But wait. As I reflect on this first paragraph I realise that I am selling this thought short. It is actually a brilliant observation. It shines and illuminates the depths into which it was not thrown, it throws off the chains with which it was not bound, it breathes the rarefie...

Normallythe format is to share one’s writing with the circle and improve one’s craft by listening to the feedback and su...

Wind Power

What motivates you to write? What puts the wind in your sails and sends you speeding across the page? What fires you up?

The answers will be various and multiple and will depend greatly on what kind of a person you are.

That said – here are three fundamental ideas to underpin and facilitate your achievements:

Be clear, in you mind, what you want to achieve by the act of writing your story – then require that it be so. Write as if you have already achieved your writing goals. You will begin w...

Mistakes

They say that we should learn from our mistakes, but maybe a better idea is to not make mistakes in the first place?
