Unique

Don’t let others define you or change you to be more like themselves. They are just perfect as they are and so are you. The world needs someone like you and someone like them. Two people like them would be way too much of a good thing.

Inspired by Tosha Michelle (https://laliterati.com/author/taraleigh90/) in her book Self Help to Self Harm.

Personal

A certain multinational corporation may or may not have recently announced anew set of three corporate values to its employees. This may or may not be the first of those values. Shh – don’t tell anyone!

Culture is a combination of all the things that make up our behaviour, i.e. ‘the way we do things around here’. Values go further in that they drive our judgement and behaviour – in other words: It ain’t what you do (it’s the way that you do it).

These are the components of the value ‘personal...

Astrology

Definition from Oxford University: “Astrology: the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world“.

Let’s play pretend – you are a modest bungalow. Everything inside the kitchen, lounge, bedroom, toilet and spare room is known to you. When you go out, to the shops, and bringsomething back into these rooms, it becomes known to you.

This bungalow has a cellar. It is dark and immense – many times bigger t...

Humility

Many people, myself included, confuse humility with low self-esteem. On the face of it, they can seem to be rather similar. They both seem to be about not making a big deal regarding the positive qualities of the self.

There is, however, a big difference between the two, and the way they can make us feel about ourselves and relate to others.

False humility (lack of self-worth) refers to attacking one’s own talents and accomplishments. This can lead to feelings that one is not good enough and...

Oracle

Oracle

Usually, when I’ve finished writing, I do a lot of editing in order to make sure that what I have said is proper and lined up. I’m not going to do that today so what you are going to get is a stream directly from my subconscious processes. This is my method of writing stories, but not sure how well it will apply to articles such as this. Let’s see.

The Oracle is a concept that’s not really in play in the ‘modern world’ but that doesn’t mean that we can’t use it. In fact, because it’s no...

Inheritance

Certain authors are hailed as being masters in the art of writing. With careful study, we can inherit this mastery and convey benefit to our own writing. Some authors areeven courteousenough to write books on their art, such as On Writing by Stephen King, thus bringing us more benefit.

But there are still ways that we can profit from those excellent writers who don’t share their best practice in the form of a book.

Here are a few tips to enable us to do that:

Beginning. Seek out the writers,...

Positivity

I have an amazing job with a very supportive manager. My beautiful wife loves me through all my ups and downs, offering advice and commitment at every step.

My football team – Sheffield Wednesday needs just 2 more points from their final 2 matches of the season to guarantee a place in the playoffs for promotion to the top flight of English football.

I am an intelligent, healthy, loving person at the height of my creative powers. I enjoy my life and all the things that I do and am. I love the...

Confidence

logo-heartI’msuper confident. I’m confidently happy that good things have come my way and that more good things are coming my way. I’m so confident of my confidence that I can state my confidence and then feel more confident as a result of saying it.

Of course, I’m saying this to feel confident. I’m confident that confidentfeelings will follow my confident words. I’m confident that comments on this post will follow and I’m confident that they will all say how confident I sound, and I’m also uber-confid...

Immortality

“Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed DJ
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life”

(‘Panic’ – Johnny Marr & Steven Patrick Morrissey)

What you should do to make your book immortal:

Get the obvious things right: spelling, syntax, grammar, character, plot, message etc. Make it speak to successivegenerations about their life.

There’s a whole set of other, more peripheral stuff, but if you get these two things right, then you have a Classic in the making o...

Sight

I want to see into the heart of the being. I want to let the layers of perception fall away into the periphery of my life and see the joy and experience of being at the heart of all life. I want to raise my voice in praise of the light at the beginning(not the end) of the tunnel. I want to breathe peace in and then swamp the whole of everything with this peace. I want to be a conduit for all the positive energy in the entire universe. I want to bathe in the ocean of light and life so that I b...
