Lady Snowblood

Back in the day, watchingJapanesemovies, with there non-synchronizedEnglishvoice overdubbing, was a source of humor for myself and my friends.  We would sit around someone's basement on the weekends, smoke a couple of spliffs, and put on the TV to watch the latest importedKung Fu Movie.[image error]
I even had a favorite actress at the time.Mind you, this is during the 1970s.I can't actually remember the names of most of the movies, except of course for some of the big time classics likeBruce Lee'sEnter The DragonandJackie Chan'sDrunken Master, but I will never forget myJapanese  heart throb,Meiko Kajiand her role in the movieLady Snowblood.I wonder if she is free these days so I can ask her out on a date?Image result for meiko kaji photosImage result for meiko kaji photosOne more thing. We were not allKung Fu Fighting!

Did You Know About Tuesday?

We have all heard it a thousand times before.People say,"I hate Mondays!"Well,I don't hateMondays,I really dislikeTuesdays!YesTuesdays. With it smug little attitude, knowing you have to get through it's day before you can get to"Hump Day."Which is officially known asWednesday.I am telling you,Tuesdayis laughing at you behind your back, because it knows it is much harder to get through, then any
Monday is.And who are theseNorsepeople who got to name this day of the week? Here,I will letWikipediaexplain it.Then you might be inclined to distasteTuesdaysas much as I do."Tuesday is a occurring after Monday and before Wednesday. According to some commonly used calendars, it is the third day of the week. According to international standard ISO 8601, however, other calendars have it as the second day of the week. The English name is derived from Old English Tiwesdæg and Middle English Tewesday, meaning "Tīw's Day", the day of Tiw or Týr, which is the god of single combat, victory, and heroic glory in Norse mythology. Tiw was equated with Mars in the interpretatio germanica, and the name of the day is a translation of Latin dies Martis."Tuesday - Wikipedia
Confused yet?You need not be.Who cares if;"Tuesday is associated with the planet Mars and shares that planet's symbol, . As Mars rules over Aries and Scorpio, and these signs are also associated with Tuesday."Or if;"The Latin name dies Martis ("day of Mars") is equivalent to the Greek ἡμέρα Ἄρεως. In most languages with Latin origins (Italian,[3] French,[4] Spanish,[5] Catalan,[6] Romanian,[7] Galician,[5] Sardinian,[8] Corsican,[9] but not Portuguese[10]), the day is named after Mars, the Ancient Greek Ares Ἄρης ." And really,does anybody believe thatTuesdayis on fire?"In Japanese, the word Tuesday is 火曜日(ka youbi), meaning 'fire day' and is associated with 火星 (kasei): Mars (the planet), literally meaning "fire star". Similarly, in Korean the word Tuesday is 화요일 (hwa yo il), also meaning fire day."So gather up some sticks,so we can feed the fire to;
"Burn the whole day down!"That way,we will get toHump Daythat much quicker, which means we will get to the weekend faster too! This is,You Know I Am Pulling For YouWe Are All In This TogetherJim Hauenstein,

Help Me! I'm Trapped By Santa!

Help me! I’m trapped. I was searching the plausibility if Saint Nicholas is real. I was in my study, typing away at my computer, when a tactical team of Green Barrette looking Elves busted down my front door and came through all of my windows. I would have laughed at the sight of it, because they looked so cute, but I was scared. One of the elves, with a toy gun, proved to me it was lethal by shooting up my sofa. I had no choice, I did what I was told. Luckily for me the Elves were not very good at frisking because they are so short and they missed my cell phone in the top pocket of my coat. Now if you are reading my Blog and wondering why I don’t call for help, I have. No one will listen. They are all under the influence of Saint Nick's spell. I’m telling you and you better listen. Santa Claus is real, and he delivers all the Christmas presents to the children all over the world in a single night! He is an inter-dimensional being. There are no toy factories on Earth. His Elves make all the toys you see. When adults think they are shopping for their children, they are actually under a hypnotic force where the Elves are investigating who has been good and who has been naughty. Then the Elves plant a memory into all the grownups, making them believe they did all the shopping. To pay for all these toys, the Elves also get the adults to give them their credit cards and then the little tykes maxes those babies out! They brainwash everyone into thinking that they spent the money! It’s a trillion dollar business Santa has going. Wait? Somebody is coming. Please help me. Call the police! Call Now! This is, It’s Too Late.....

Geminid Meteor Shower

Spot 2 or 3 Meteors Per Minute When the Geminid Meteor Shower Peaks TonightBy Elizabeth Yuko for LifeHacker.com"Keep your fingers crossed that there’ll be clear skies tonight, because the 2020 Geminid meteor shower is expected to peak. Known as the best and most visible meteor shower of the year, the Geminids started on December 4th and end on December 17th, but tonight, December 13th, will be the climax. Here’s how to watch one of the most exciting astronomical events of the year. Tonight’s meteor activity will start around 9 p.m. and will continue to increase in frequency through 2 a.m. at your local time. Most meteor showers feature around 100 meteors per hour, but tonight we may see as many as 150 meteors per hour—averaging out to about two or three meteors per minute—in very dark areas, according to the American Meteor Society (AMS). So why are the Geminids expected to be so good this year? According to NASA: The Geminids produce a good number of meteors most years, but they’re made even better this year as the shower’s peak coincides with a nearly new moon, thus making for darker skies, with no moonlight to interfere with the fainter meteors."How to See the Geminids Meteor Shower | Time

Does Anyone Need A Job?

I like to believe that I'm an avid reader.I'm wondering,do audio books count when I'm on my daily walkor driving in my car?
Unfortunately,I started reading late in life.I never brought homeworkor my school books after class because I could get a passing grade without trying too hard.I did try reading comic books as a kid,but never really got into it consistently.  It wasn't until I was in
High Schoolwhen the bug bit me.It started when my brother gave me"The Hobbit"to read. The Hobbit: 75th Anniversary Edition by J. R. R. Tolkien, Hardcover | Barnes & Noble®
After that, the wonderful worlds of imagination I found inside of books has been a constant joy in my life.I do read the occasional nonfiction bookbut on the whole I'm a fiction fan.
That is why I try writing fiction myself these days. There is a joy in writing a story where you create a person, place,or thing out of nothing
and it all comes from your imagination.
I'm writing two fiction stories right now, where I already have about 52,000 words for each. The problem I have is editing.I have a real hard time editing my own work.I do queryLiterary Agentsonce in awhilebut I always get the same type of email which states,"Nice work. Let me know when you are done editing it."The consensus is that I'm a bit too wordy.
I might start a"Kickstarter"project to publish my book.I haven't decided yet.
But,anyone who signs up as aFolloweron myBlog
will get a free copy of the first book I get published. Also,if I do start aKickstarter Projectthe people who donate to it will receive a free copy too!

Scholar Or Academic

I usually don't like to promote one search engine over the other but in my studies....Don't I sound so pedagogic!Keeping with my theme of yesterday, that of learning,I have found that reading scientific papers late at night can really put me to sleep.I mean,it feeds this craving mind I have for knowledge!Like the other day, when I wanted to read articles on"Planetary Boundaries Framework."Just your usual light reading I dare say.First I went with the old granddads of the search world,Google Scholar & Microsoft Academic.Found everything I was looking for, including tons of tracking cookies to bog down my web browsing. Then I went to one of the newer kids on the block,DuckDuckGo Semantic Scholarbecause they profess that;"DuckDuckGo is an internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results. DuckDuckGo distinguishes itself from other search engines by not profiling its users and by showing all users the same search results for a given search term."Which is a good thing since they are not using algorithms to put forward groups who pay to be first in line when you search a subject. Also, these algorithms like to put up the worst case scenarios to hopefully outrage you so you keep clicking more websites, which in turn pays the bills for these grandad search engines.Sorry, sometimes I get carried away when I am talking about theInternet Age!Back to all the scientific papers on the
"Planetary Boundaries Framework."Ahhhh, just go toWikipedia,it's easier.

Learning For Free

I will be completely honest about not writing.I have been extremely lazy lately.Sorry.
Hopefully I haven't lost all of my readers because of it.*****I haven't been wasting all of my time though.I have stated in an earlier post that I tried volunteering to work at the polls this lastNovemberduring theElectionand signed up online to work withGreenpeace.Nobody called me back.Greenpeace actually sold my cellphone number to other organizations who did constantly call me asking all kinds of questions about my political affiliations. I block all of the telemarketer's numbers. In the meantime I have found The King's Centre for Visualization in Sciencewhich is inCanada.Explaining why the word centre is spelled theBritishway. They do have a lot of free educational tools you can use for yourselfor your children.Visualization education is so much more effective these days with young people. Before they can even talk

How Dependent Have I Become?

I can tell you that I am not as dependent as I was in the early days of the computer age.I got my first computer in 1990.Nine years afterWindows 1was released. The operating system I was using was 3.1,which meant I had to upgrade toWindows 95when it came out. WinWorld: Windows 3.0 / 3.1 3.1 Anyone under the age of 20 has no idea what we had to go through in those dinosaur days.We actually had to pay a monthly fee for a web browser. And I am talking about long befor AOL came along.During the 1990s I would hack into different software companies because I never wanted to pay for anything.Everything back then had a back door.I did it because I needed my money to raise my seven children. We all know how expensive that can be.Not complaining, just stating a fact.I remember starting out oneSunday Morningand spending eleven hours before I found a way to back doorAOLso I could get free internet through them.I wanted to be aCyberpunk back when it was still an underground movement.I used to sign all my emails;Jim Hauenstein Keep The Internet Free.
When high speed internet came along that all changed.I did get a discount because I worked at a cable company for almost 20 years, but it wasn't free.Besides,I couldn't risk my job any longer since I kept moving up the ladder because of my computer skills. Now,to get to the point of the title.Ever since I retired I no longer stay up on all the new tech.If I had,I would have jumped on learning everything I could on how to make an app for cellphones.I just don't have it in me anymore. When the internet stopped working at my house the other day it was harder on my kids than me.No WiFi,no Xbox,no On Demand, just unlimited data on our cell phones.Oh the pain.To stir the imagination of my kids who were bored,I told them to do what people have been doing since the time ofGutenberg.Read A Book! This is,Suggesting Reading One Of The Classics When You Get Bored Because It Stirs The Mind Better Than Watching A ClassicJim Hauenstein And, “A classic is a book that has never finished saying what it has to say.”

My Internet Is Down

Sorry, but I don't have much time. The router from the internet company I use has failed. After being on the phone for over two hours, the technician I was talking to finally decided that the router had to be replaced. He said, they will send me a new router by priory mailand I will get it onMonday. Then all I have to do is hook it up myselfand mail the old one back to them.Remember a time when the satelliteor cable companies would send out a technician that same day on aFREE Servicecall because they were afraid they might lose your business? No longer. Now if you want somebody to come out to fix your system you have to pay a service fee or pay a monthly fee so you won't have a service fees when they do come out.Either way they are passing the cost of service calls onto their customers. The other thing these huge profitable companies like to do is charge a large installation fee when you first get hooked up.Even though the infrastructure in your house has been there for over 30 years.Well, since I don't have internet,I don't have theXboxworking, which means my grandson didn't want to come over to visit this weekend.I also have three young adults, with three computers living with me who aren't too happy either. To top it off,I won't be able to write on this blog until probablyTuesday!I better get some kind of credit on my bill for all this inconvenienceor that company is going to get a really badYelpreview from me.Get Yelp - Microsoft StoreHow am I writing this post you ask? That's why I am in a hurry.I told my neighbor my problemand said I was going to hack into hisWiFifor only this morning! All he asked was that I don't hack into any of his household computersor equipmentand that I would tell him after I was done so he could change the password. This is,My Neighbor Carlos Is Such A Great GuyAnd His Checking Account Number Is........Jim Hauenstein And, “Hacking is a talent.
