Sorry, Hubble Did Not Find Aliens On EuropaBy Sarah Fecht for Popular Science on MSN News.com "NASA, you should really know better than to say you've found something "surprising" without telling us what it is. That can lead a lot of people to speculate. Yesterday our space agency announced that they'd found "Evidence of Surprising Activity on Europa," and promised to reveal more in a teleconference on Monday. Scientists think Jupiter's moon Europa might be capable of supporting alien life in the ocean beneath its icy crust. So of course, people's imaginations ran wild. Well, NASA would like you to know that it's definitely not aliens."
Alien Planet Has 2 Suns Instead of 1, Hubble Telescope Reveals
By Hanneke Weitering for Space.com
"Imagine looking up and seeing more than one sun in the sky. Astronomers have done just that, announcing today (Sept. 22) that they have spotted a planet orbiting two stars instead of one, as previously thought, using the Hubble Space Telescope. Several planets that revolve around two, three or more stars are known to exist. But this is the first time astronomers have confirmed such a discovery of a so-called "circumbinary planet" by observing a natural phenomenon called gravitational microlensing, or the bending of light caused by strong gravity around objects in space. You can see how researchers found the planet in this video."
Stephen Hawking wants to find aliens before they find us
By Eric Mack for CNET on MSN News.com
"Stephen Hawking is again warning about announcing our presence to any alien civilizations that might be out there, especially those that could be more technologically advanced. In his new half-hour program "Stephen Hawking's Favorite Places" on science-themed subscription service CuriosityStream, the world's most famous theoretical physicist flies by the potentially habitable exoplanet Gliese 832c in a CGI spaceship as part of his hypothetical dream itinerary for a tour of the universe. The super-Earth is only 16 light-years away and just the sort of world the Hawking-supported Breakthrough: Listen initiative hopes to scan for signs of alien signals using our most sensitive radio telescopes. "If intelligent life has evolved (on Gliese 832c), we should be able to hear it," he says while hovering over the exoplanet in the animated "U.S.S. Hawking." "One day we might receive a signal from a planet like this, but we should be wary of answering back. Meeting an advanced civilization could be like Native Americans encountering Columbus. That didn't turn out so well."
Water plumes spotted above Jupiter's moon Europa
By William Harwood for CBSNews.com
"The Hubble Space Telescope has again spotted what appear to be towering plumes of water vapor erupting from Jupiter’s moon Europa, hinting that future spacecraft may be able to sample the hidden sea, a possible abode of life, without having to drill through miles of rock-hard ice, researchers said Monday. Today’s results increase our confidence that water and other materials from Europa’s hidden ocean might be on the surface and available for us to study, said Paul Hertz, director of astrophysics at NASA Headquarters in Washington. The observations, and earlier Hubble studies that found signs of plumes using a different technique, are at the limits of the space telescope’s capabilities, and researchers cautioned they were not yet ready to say with certainty that water plumes have, in fact, been detected."
Earth is the warmest it has been in 120,000 years, and CO2 levels have passed symbolic 400 ppm threshold
By Seth Borenstein for The Associated Press on the National Post.com
"WASHINGTON — A new study paints a picture of an Earth that is warmer than it has been in about 120,000 years, and is locked into eventually hitting its hottest mark in more than 2 million years. As part of her doctoral dissertation at Stanford University, Carolyn Snyder, now a climate policy official at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, created a continuous 2 million year temperature record, much longer than a previous 22,000 year record. Snyder’s temperature reconstruction, published Monday in the journal Nature, doesn’t estimate temperature for a single year, but averages 5,000-year time periods going back a couple million years. Meanwhile, 2016 is on track to become the year that the Earth’s carbon dioxide levels officially passed the symbolic 400 ppm mark for good, according to a report in The Guardian. Many scientists contend that the carbon dioxide levels should remain well below 400 ppm to avoid long-term disruptions to the Earth’s climate."
U.S. FDA Approves “Artificial Pancreas” for Diabetes Treatment
By Reuters Staff on Scientific American.com
"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved Medtronic Plc's "artificial pancreas" designed to automatically deliver the right dose of insulin to patients with type 1 diabetes.
The eagerly-awaited approval offers patients greater freedom to live their lives without having to consistently and manually monitor baseline glucose levels and administer insulin, Dr. Jeffrey Shuren, director of the FDA's medical device division said in a statement. The device, called the MiniMed 670G measures glucose levels every five minutes and automatically administers insulin as needed.
About 1.25 million American children and adults have type 1 diabetes. Patients take insulin injections at various times of the day. But blood sugar can drop to dangerously low levels if too much insulin circulates in the bloodstream, requiring patients to frequently or continually monitor their insulin levels throughout the entire day. This device will mean peace of mind, in knowing a person will be in normal blood sugar range a great majority of the time, said Derek Rapp, Chief Executive Officer of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which has spent $116 million on research on the artificial pancreas field."
Huge dinosaur footprint discovered in Gobi Desert is possibly largest ever
By Ben Guarino for The Washington Post.com
"You know what they say about dinosaurs with big feet? They left big holes.
Some of the largest footprints known to science were made 70 million to 90 million years ago, when a type of dinosaur believed to be a titanosaur galumphed across the muck in central Asia. A few of these mud tracks filled with sand and silt, which hardened like plaster. Long after the titanosaur died off, the casts in the sand remained. We know about these big feet because a Mongolian paleontologist discovered a few of them in the Gobi Desert in August. And what a titanic foot the dinosaur must have had. One of the most detailed tracks was a convex mound 42 inches in length, with impressions of the animal’s massive nails. By U.S. shoe standards, it would stretch its sneakers to a size 104. (The world’s largest human feet max out at about 15 inches, about a size 23 or 25.) The print was also much wider than any human foot, at 30 inches across."

Trickle-Up Effect
As I had stated yesterday,my good friend Bob suggested that I talk aboutThe Trickle-Up Effect."Or, it is sometimes referred to as the Keynesian economics in which stimulation is enhanced when the government lowers taxes on the middle class and increases government spending. The Trickle-Up Effect is an economic theory used to describe the overall aggregate demand of households and middle-class people to drive and support the economy. The theory was founded by John Maynard Keynes (1883-1946)."
"Keynesian economists often argue that private sector decisions sometimes lead to inefficient macroeconomic outcomes which require active policy responses by the public sector, in particular, monetary policy actions by the central bank and fiscal policy actions by the government, in order to stabilize output over the business cycle. Keynesian economics advocates a mixed economy – predominantly private sector, but with a role for government intervention during recessions."
In other words,if you leave it up to the private sector alone, there would have been anotherGreat Depression. The Federal Government had to bail outThe Auto Industry,The Housing Market,The Banking System, and that is to name a few they have helped in recent years."Keynesian economics served as the standard economic model in the developed nations during the later part of the Great Depression, World War II, and the post-war economic expansion (1945–1973). The advent of the financial crisis of 2007–08 caused a resurgence in Keynesian thought, which continues as new Keynesian economics. In theory, if the interest rate at which businesses and consumers can borrow is decreased, investments which were previously uneconomic become profitable, and large consumer sales which are normally financed through debt (such as houses, automobiles, and, historically, even appliances like refrigerators) become more affordable. A principle function of central banks in countries which have them is to influence this interest rate through a variety of mechanisms which are collectively called monetary policy. This is how monetary policy which reduces interest rates is thought to stimulate economic activity, i.e. "grow the economy," and why it is called expansionary monetary policy."In contrast;"Trickle-down economics is a rhetorical term used to criticize free market economics. No economist has ever supported trickle-down economics, which is the idea that giving the wealthy tax breaks will encourage them to spend more, and so this wealth will "trickle down" to the less wealthy."Thank youWikipedia. There are always two sides to every argument.Just don't blow off what I am saying hereand not research the facts for yourself. Some people will always believe what they are told, even if there is proof against it.I have one friend who will vote forDonald Trumpbecause,as he puts it,"I don't want to waste my vote."As far as I can tell,he always votes Republican no matter what. The Trickle Effect
I was talking to a good friend of mine, who lives up in theBig Bear Lake area ofCalifornia, and he asked me if I was watching theVice Presidential Debate."Sorry no,"I answered.Well, one thing led to anotherand of course the nameDonald Trumpcame up.We talked about howDonald, wants to giveBig BusinessaTax Breakfrom paying today at35%to paying only at15%.Wow,I guess he expects the failure of theRonald Reagan's Trickle Down Effect will work this time around if he implements it.Or,is it to help hisand his friend'sPocket Booksto get fatter?
Trickle-Down Economics: Four Reasons Why It Just Doesn't WorkBy Mehrun Etebari"We've all heard the claims that cutting tax rates for the richest Americans will improve the standard of living for the working class. Supposedly, top-bracket tax breaks will result in more jobs being created, higher wages for the average worker, and an overall upturn in our economy. It's at the heart of the infamous trickle-down theory. The past 40 years have seen a gradual decrease in the top bracket's income tax rate, from 91% in 1963 to 35% in 2003. It went as low as 28% in 1988 and 1989 due to legislation passed under Reagan, the trickle-down theory's most famous adherent. The Clinton years saw the top bracket hold steady at a higher rate of 39.6%, but under the younger Bush's tax-cut policies, the rich are once again paying less. The drastic change in tax policy that has taken place since the early 1960s gives us a great opportunity to study and evaluate the claims that lower taxes for the rich translate to more wealth for the average American."Cutting the top tax rate does not lead to economic growth."It is true that growth increased drastically after the 1982 tax cut, reaching as high as 7.3% in 1984. However, as the Reagan-Bush, Sr. administrations went on and taxes for the rich were slashed even further, growth fell to negative levels during 1991, at the heart of the last recession. And, two of the three years with the highest growth were during the 1950s, when the top tax rate was 91%. Overall, there seems to be no close relationship between the top tax rate and the GDP growth rate, and statistical analysis backs this up: the correlation coefficient between the two variables is 0.03, meaning that there is essentially no connection. (If tax cuts were strongly related to GDP growth, we would see a coefficient close to -1.) So much for upper-class tax cuts boosting the economy; now it's on to median income growth." Cutting the top tax rate does not lead to income growth."Again, we see inconclusive evidence for the power of tax cuts. We do see small peaks in median income growth, a good measure of how the average American household is doing, after top-bracket tax cuts in the mid-1960s and early 1980s, but we also actually see income decreases after the tax cuts of the late 1980s, and strong growth after the tax increase of 1993. It is true that in the year with the worst median income decrease (3.3% in 1974), the top tax rate was 70%. However, it was also 70% in the year with the highest median income growth (4.7% in 1972)! Once again, the lack of connection between the two measures is backed up by a correlation coefficient near zero: 0.06, to be exact. And yes, yet again, the coefficient is positive, indicating that income has gone up slightly (though negligibly) more in years with higher taxes. Two strikes. How about hourly wages?"Cutting the top tax rate does not lead to wage growth."Not surprisingly, we have mixed results yet again! Growth in average hourly wages did increase during the 1980s following the first Reagan tax cuts, albeit two years after the cuts took effect. But, just like GDP growth and median income growth, hourly wages decreased following the late 1980s tax cuts, and spiked upwards after the 1993 tax increase. Furthermore, wages grew at a level of at least 1%, and usually much more, all throughout the period when the top income tax rate was 91%. In fact, it isn't until 1972 that we see a wage growth rate of less than 1%. However, if we look at the 19 years of the study period when the top tax rate was 50% or less, we see that 8 of the years saw an increase in wages of less than 1%. Thus, it seems that hourly wages grew more when taxes were higher - indeed, the correlation coefficient is 0.34, indicating a mild positive relationship between higher taxes for the rich and higher hourly wages. This finding flies in the face of the conservative theory." "Overall, data from the past 50 years strongly refutes any arguments that cutting taxes for the richest Americans will improve the economic standing of the lower and middle classes or the nation as a whole. To be sure, the economic indicators examined in this report are dependent on a variety of factors, not just tax policy. However, what this study does show is that any attempt to stimulate economic growth by cutting taxes for the rich will do nothing -- it hasn't worked over the past 50 years, so why would it work in the future? To put it simply and bluntly, Trump's top-bracket tax cut is an ineffective attempt at stimulus that will not cause any growth -- unless, of course, if you're talking about the size of the deficit." However, if we look at the 19 years of the study period when the top tax rate was 50% or less, we see that 8 of the years saw an increase in wages of less than 1%. To put it simply and bluntly, Trump's top-bracket tax cut is an ineffective attempt at stimulus that will not cause any growth -- unless, of course, if you're talking about the size of the deficit." This is,Going To Tell You Bob's Trickle Theory Tomorrow,Jim Hauenstein,And, “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich. Raising A Chicken Of My Own
Once again it is a wonderfulMonday Eveningand what a beautiful day to be alive! Now go ahead, ask those"Questions You Never Knew You Wanted To Ask."Like, Where was I yesterday? Why didn't I write Post on Sunday, tying up all the loose ends from the week before? If I miss a day, please look back on some of my older Posts, because you just might find something you have missed, that you really enjoy after you have discovered it.I do have486 Postswritten so far.So I imagine you will findSomething Humorous,Something Interesting, andSomething Controversial. So please, take a look around. Next question. Why can't I play Pong anymore?Well you can my friend. Now,once again you can have hours of tedious fun hitting a square ball back and forth with an elongated rectangular paddle!Pong Game.org
Come on.Next question. You know you want to ask it. OK, how do you tell a Rooster from a Hen?Good question. With a little help from the website,AskDeb.comI hope this will answer that hard hitting question."Telling roosters apart from chickens when they’re young is not as easy as it is with other animals. Professional chicken handlers can tell the gender of a chicken the day they’re born. This process is called “chicken sexing” and is very important in the chicken industry. How can you work with an animal if you don’t even know what gender it is? Unfortunately, “chicken sexing” is much tougher than it sounds, and on their second day of life, chickens grow feathers which hide this gender detail. The goods news is you can tell the sex apart even before your chicken is of potential egg-laying age. The main differences between roosters and hens after they hatch are visual and behavioral. Roosters and hens look and act different from birth."
Comb or Wattle
"Check if your baby chicken has a comb or a wattle. Roosters have large combs and wattles, usually brightly-colored and prominent. So what is a “comb”, anyway? The comb is the tuft of flesh on top of a chicken’s head. Rooster’s combs are bigger and brighter than hens, though both genders have them. Rooster combs tend to be red, though they can be almost any color on the rainbow. Hen’s combs are generally small and pale. Roosters wear big brightly-colored combs to attract the attention of hens, that’s why a chick with a big bright comb and wattle is almost always a rooster. The same goes for the wattle–the little bit of flesh on the chicken’s chin. Just like with the comb, a rooster’s wattle is brighter and bigger than that of a hen."
The website actually has about eight more paragraphs on how to tell the difference, but after reading aboutChicken Sexing,Chicken Combs, andChicken Wattles,I'm about ready to have a beer. This is,Raising A Chicken Of My Own In The Backyard,Jim Hauenstein,

Now Boys & Girls, Today's Word Is Phallus
Do you know what is really embarrassing? When a child walks into a roomand sees hisParentswatchingPornography. This happened to me the other day. The thing is with myParents,I didn't know they knew how to hack my webcam at my home,so they could watch me!
“Poor Old fool,”thought the well-dressed gentleman, as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub.So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old manand asked,“So how many have you caught today?”The old man replied,“You’re the eighth.”
"So there was this dyslexic guy who walked into a bra."
I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep.During the night, the tape skipped. So now I can only stutter in Spanish.
I was in small-claims court when I listened in on the case of a woman who held a good job but still had trouble paying her bills on time.“Can’t you live within your income?”asked the judge.“No, Your Honor,”she said.“It’s all I can do to live within my credit.”
I woke up frighten out of my wits this morning. So I went directly to theEmergency Room. When the doctor came in to see me,I excitedly asked,"Look at my phallus Doc. Why is it the color orange?"He looked at me thoughtfullyand asked,"Now that you are retired, what do you do all day?"I thought about itand said,"I watch pornography and eat Cheetos."

Barron Von Avocado
There once was a curious fellow,
Who couldn't leave them alone.
His brain turned a dark kind of yellow,
Because he wouldn't leave them alone.
The Law said, Young man, you need to be mellow,
But the Buyers promise him a big fat loan.
The Judge said, "Go directly to jail young fellow!
Stolen Avocados, are not yours to own!"
This
Poem
is about an actually person named
Barron.
I read his story in the
North County Times Newspaper.
For years he would go around,
late at night,
and steal
Avocados
from the local
Orchards
to sell them to
Restaurants
in the area.
Which is illegal by both parties.
He needed the money for a drug habit.
The reason why he was in the
Local Newspaper
is because they put out an inquiry to anyone who knew about the growing epidemic of
Avocado Theft In San Diego County.
He not only got his picture in the
Newspaper,
but he admitted to stealing the equivalent of about
$50.00 Per Day Of Avocados.
(Avocados have a growing, then ripening season, just like grapes.)
He was selling them at
25 Cents Each!
Two days later,
after the story broke,
a follow up story told how the
Police
had arrested him after seeing the article
and were trying to charge him for a
“Third Strike Grand Larceny."
This is,
Wondering How Some People Think,
Jim Hauenstein,
And,
“The law, as manipulated by clever and highly respected rascals, still remains the best avenue for a career of honorable and leisurely plunder.”
- Gabriel Chevallier -
That is my poem and I am sticking to it!
Some of might have seen a version of this poem from January 24th, 2013.It is a short poem but it is a true story.I personally new Barron, and I am better off from him never being around again. You can't trust people who steal items,no matter how convincing they are, telling you, they are your friend.

EnoughRanting & Raving for today.I know, sometimes it is really hard for some people to come back, everyday,to see what I have written, here on myBlog. And it has left a hole in your heart,as if you are missing something very important part of your life.I also know that some days, what I write about,it is not your cup of tea.So I am setting up a schedule.Nothing written in stone mind you,but I will try to follow it.
Sundays; Will be the day I give my rebuttals to any Comments left on a Post. Plus it will be the day to tie up any loose ends, as I like to call it, when I need to clarify something I might have said earlier.
Mondays; Will be the day I "Answer those Questions You didn't know you were asking."
Tuesdays; Is a free day where I can write on anything I feel like.
Wednesdays; Will become my Rant & Raving day. Probably about Politics. We'll see.
Thursdays; Is the day I will release any new Short Stories, Flash Fiction, or Poetry I have written of late.
Fridays; I am going to try my hardest to make you laugh. It will be Comedy day.
Saturdays; Will be Science day. And I mean that in the broadest sense of the word.
I hope you come and visit myBlogeveryday, but if you can't,find the days which will have the subjects you are interested in,and I'll see you then.
