Salem's Vengeance synopsis

Huh...that didn't take you very long. ;)
Thanks for being the best fans a guy like me could ever hope for. You all rock!
As promised, here's the synopsis ofSalem's Vengeance, the first in a YA trilogy set nineteen years after the Salem trials:
Sixteen-year-old Sarah Kelly never expected to meet the Devil’s daughter. She only sought innocent dancing in the moonlight, not a coven entranced by their dark priestess. When her friends partake of a powder meant to conjure spirits - and the results go...

Yes, I CAN.

There's something invigorating in the discovery you're capable. That you're no expert, but not totally inept either. You've probably heard the phrase, "Action breeds confidence." I consider this past year a whirlwind of action and discovery.
A year ago today, I wouldn't have believed someone telling me I'd publish not one, but threebooks in 2014.
In January, Iwould've laughed ifsomeone told meI would not only build/design my own website, but create a mailing list, blog somewhat regularly, and...

The People Behind SALTED: Jennifer Wingard

I hail from the film world. Something I've discovered is most moviegoers tend to forget after a film ends that all those names in the credits areactualhuman beings. It's easy to think of them as shadow people. After all, most of us will never have the chance to meet them, nor ask what it was like to work on such productions.
I've found books to be much the same. Truth be told, I used to skip straight to the story, rather than look at the credits page.
I know better now.
In preparingSaltedfor...

Happy Father's Day, Dad

Picture If a father is worth more than a hundred schoolteachers, as the quote by George Herbert goes, then a goodfather is surely worth more than a thousand.
I have such a father.
That pic you're seeing to the right is Dad and his Chevelle, circa 1977. Isn't she a thing of beauty?
But my Dad isn't just an awesome teacher, he's the definition of what a man is.
One of the best moments in my life came at a funeral. Crazy, but true.
I had just gotten out of my car and saw a group of men, (none of whi...

7th Grader reviews my book for school

I received numerous emails before I flew home to Indiana for my book tour a couple weeks ago. One really caught my eye.
A former manager of mine mentioned her 7th grade daughter, Megan, wouldn't stop raving about Salted. Megan loved the book so much that she chose to write a review.
I asked if Megan wouldn't mind giving me a copy to read. She did and it's awesome! (I even convinced her to autograph it for me!)
So, without further ado, here is 7th grader Megan T.'s review of Salted. *There...

Interview with fantasy author Cherie Reich

Picture I love learning the writing and world-building processes of other fantasy authors.
Enter Ms. Reich and her debut novel, Reborn.Pretty sweet cover, wouldn't you agree? I was ready to read as soon as I saw the wicked cool phoenix!
Another great thing about Rebornis it also incorporated mythological creatures I humbly admit even I had not heard of before.(Karshipta and woodwoses? Yes, please!)
All that said, I hope you enjoy this interview I held with Ms. Reich. She's pretty awesome. Not gonna...

Book Tour recap

Whew. What a week. My throat is raw from talking too much, (no new news), I'm exhausted from running place to place, and I have about a thousand emails to catch up on. Meant to keep up a daily recap during the tour. Obviously that didn't happen. I'm even late posting this today because I arrived back in Cali wrecked from exhaustion and sick to boot.
Worth it. ;)
Okay, so here we go. My tour stops broken down by day! Thursday, May 29th I spent almost all day at Speedway Middle School and m...
