Boosting Business Profits: The Pathway to Success
On this episode of The Author Factor Podcast, I am joined by Marcia Riner, CEO of Infinite Profit Consulting, and author of "Boosting Business Profit: The Pathway to a Highly Profitable Business".
In this episode, we dive deep into Marcia's expertise in helping business owners become profitable and successful.
Marcia is not just an author, she is also a certified financial planner and business growth strategist. Her book, "Boosting Business Profit: The Pathway to a Highly Profitable Business" is packed with strategies and tactics that can help businesses increase their revenue, profit, and overall value.
One of the key takeaways from our conversation in this episode is that most businesses focus on too many things rather than what truly drives profit. Marcia emphasizes that business owners need to focus 80% of their resources on activities that are proven to drive profit. She mentions that there are fundamental things that can make huge changes to a business if they are tweaked or implemented. Marcia has a tool that shows how small incremental changes to important areas of a business can boost profits exponentially.
Marcia also talks about the importance of messaging in converting leads into customers. She emphasizes that businesses should show potential clients that they understand their problem and have a step-by-step solution to solve it. Providing valuable information to validate a prospects decision before making a purchase can make a business stand out.
If you're a business owner struggling to become profitable, I highly recommend listening to this episode. Marcia's insights are invaluable and could help take your business to the next level. Finding Purpose in Adversity: The Inspiring Journey of a Special Needs Parent and Author
On this episode of The Author Factor Podcast, I am joined by Colleen Keefe Faul, author of "God's Precious Gift a Special Needs Child." Colleen's experience as a parent of a child with special needs inspired her to write a book that addresses the spiritual side of the journey. The book tells the story of a couple who initially pray for their child to be "fixed," only to hear from Jesus that their daughter is a precious gift given in love, and caring for her will lead them to heaven. This conversation is a must-listen for anyone who has a child with special needs, or who is going through a difficult situation in their life.
One of the most impactful things I learned from Colleen is the power of community. As an author, Colleen has been able to create a tribe of like-minded individuals who have gone through similar experiences. By writing her book, she was able to connect with readers who were also parents of children with special needs. They expressed their gratitude for writing it and Colleen became a mentor for these parents and was able to walk them through the process of advocating for their child's medical needs with doctors and trusting their instincts. It's incredible to see the impact that writing can have in bringing people together.
One of the key takeaways from this episode is that being an author means having a voice. Writing allows authors to speak out about things that are important to them, and to create a community and connection with others who are in similar situations or need to hear the same message. For Colleen, being an author means having a tribe and the ability to make an impactful difference in the lives of others. Here is what she shared during our interview, "I feel like becoming an author gave me community. It somehow opened doors that I never expected to be opened. And it connected me with other people who are throughout the world, who are in the exact same boat or who are needing to hear the same message that I needed to hear."
I encourage you to check out Colleen's website https://GodsPreciousGift.com, where you can learn more about her and her daughter's journey. You can also purchase her book on Amazon or through her website to support her.

Elevate Your Email Marketing Game with “Hit the Inbox”
Email marketing has been around for a while, but it's still one of the most effective ways to reach your audience and promote your business. However, many small business owners struggle with getting their emails delivered to the inbox and even more so with getting their subscribers to open, click and take action on those emails.
That's why this week's Author Factor Podcast episode featuring Scott Hartley, author of "Hit the Inbox" is a must-listen for anyone looking to improve their email marketing game. The book is aimed at helping users get their emails delivered, opened, and acted upon. Scott, who has been working with service-based and small business owners for years, has condensed their knowledge into a concise book that can help users run profitable email marketing campaigns.
One of the key takeaways from the episode is that sending frequent emails can be beneficial if they provide substantial value and are well received by the audience. Scott recommends sending at least one email per week to the email list, but also advises against sending too many emails that are just promoting products or boring content. The book includes tips on crafting attention-grabbing subject lines, designing effective emails, and measuring the success of email marketing campaigns.
Other tips covered in the episode include why HTML style emails with product images work better for ecommerce brands, while text-only emails work better for service-based businesses, how to ditch the newsletter and send targeted emails with one clear message and call-to-action to improve open and action rates, and why tracking engagement numbers is crucial to making informed decisions about the success of email campaigns.
"Hit the Inbox" can be purchased for just $7 for the digital version with two bonuses included on the website. If you're struggling with email marketing, or simply want to elevate your game, it's a small investment that could pay big dividends for your business.
Tune in to the podcast to hear more about the speaker's journey and effective strategies for improving email marketing campaigns.

LinkedIn Combined with Podcast Guesting for Book Author Marketing
LinkedIn can be a powerful tool for individuals and businesses to make real connections that can lead to meaningful business relationships. In a recent episode of a popular podcast, the question of whether to aim for the most connections or the best connections on LinkedIn was discussed in depth.
My guest on this episode, Daniel Alfon author of the book How to Build a LinkedIn Profile for Business Success, noted that there is a significant difference between having the largest number of followers on LinkedIn and having a personal network of meaningful business relationships. While having a massive number of followers can be tempting, it's often impossible to establish authentic interactions with that many people.
Instead, Daniel emphasized the importance of developing a real-life network of 80 to 1200 individuals on LinkedIn. This personal network allows you to leverage referrals and introductions to other potential business contacts and clients. This type of networking can be much more valuable than just adding more and more followers.
Daniel suggests that non-fiction book authors can use LinkedIn effectively by focusing on authenticity and integrity. Important tips offered during the episode include posting content regularly, engaging with other users, and being mindful of bot-generated communication with new connections.
LinkedIn can also be used effectively in conjunction with podcasting. Through the use of a platform such as PodMatch, podcast hosts can connect with potential guests and vice versa. This can lead to high-quality interviews, a more prepared and productive show, and potentially even future business opportunities.
Daniel notes that while LinkedIn can be a powerful tool, there is a need to know when to leave the platform and communicate with potential clients and connections directly, such as through email or phone calls. It's important to use LinkedIn in a way that is genuine and authentic and to focus on building a personal network of meaningful business relationships rather than just accumulating a large number of followers.
In conclusion, this podcast episode demonstrates the potential power of LinkedIn for individuals and businesses alike. By focusing on building real-life business relationships and using tools such as PodMatch, individuals can use LinkedIn effectively to build a network of meaningful connections and grow their business.

Finding Purpose and Spreading Hope: A Journey Through Writing and Entrepreneurship
Welcome to a new episode of The Author Factor Podcast. This week, we dive deep into a topic that affects many of us: helping someone we love with cancer. The topic is inspired by the story of Joel Hughes, a bestselling author with a unique approach to helping cancer patients and their caregivers.
In this episode titled "Help: Someone I Love Has Cancer. How You Can Really Make a Difference.", Joel Hughes shares about his experience as an author and a caregiver to his wife who has stage four breast cancer. He talks about how his writing has not only been a catharsis for him but has also helped him understand what many caregivers go through. His two books, "In Your Corner" and "Don’t Mind Me" provide support and hope to both caregivers and patients.
One of the main notions in this episode is how caregivers feel overwhelmed and alone when dealing with this illness. Joel believes that it doesn't have to be that way, and we can all do something to help someone we love. He shares some practical tips on how to support a person with cancer, as well as insights into how to deal with the stress and exhaustion that caregivers often feel.
One thing you'll notice throughout the episode is Joel's positive attitude towards life in the face of incredible challenges. He highlights the role of hope in his life, and how that hope has been the driving force behind his books and projects.
If you are looking for ways to help someone you love through a difficult health situation, whether it be cancer or something else, we highly recommend giving this episode a listen. Joel's insights and experience will provide you with valuable resources and strategies to make a real difference in the lives of others.

Embracing Our Messiness: From Trauma to Triumph in Writing and Spirituality
Welcome back to The Author Factor Podcast! We have a truly inspiring episode for you today featuring author Amanda Kate. Amanda's story is unique and profound, and we believe that it can be an inspiration to anyone who wants to follow their dreams and persist through rejection and adversity.
During our conversation, Amanda talked about her journey to becoming a published author, sharing her personal experiences of being shamed and laughed at as a child for her love of writing. Despite these setbacks, Amanda persisted and eventually wrote a multi-author book called the Anxiety Relief Handbook. This book was a pivotal moment for Amanda, as it helped her overcome her fear of writing and led her down the path to eventually writing her own book.
Amanda's achievement of publishing her own book is truly remarkable, and we believe that it is a testament to her resilience and dedication to her craft. We were honored to have Amanda share her story with us, and we hope that it serves as a reminder to our listeners that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and keep pushing forward.
One of the topics we discussed in this episode is the importance of embracing our messy, imperfect human parts. In our culture, there is often a lot of pressure to be perfect and to hide our flaws and vulnerabilities. However, as Amanda reminds us, it is only by accepting and honoring these messy parts of ourselves that we can truly connect with the divine and achieve our goals.
We also had a fascinating discussion about the psychology behind human behavior, including the importance of balancing both masculine and feminine aspects within ourselves. Additionally, Amanda shared her journey of healing and personal development, which included significant trauma and grief in her past. Through kinesiology and other natural therapies, Amanda was able to identify and heal the deep emotional wounds that were holding her back and start living a more fulfilling life.
Finally, we talked about Amanda's own process of writing her book, and the importance of waiting for the right time to tell our stories. Through her experiences, Amanda offers valuable insights for aspiring writers and creative professionals who are struggling to bring their work to fruition.
Overall, we found Amanda's story to be truly inspiring, and we hope that her words will encourage our listeners to embrace their own messy, imperfect humanity and persist in pursuing their dreams. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more episodes of our podcast!
