Rick Pryll is an award-winning author and poet living in Charlotte since 2002. His book, The Chimera of Prague (Foolishness Press, 2017) was selected the winner of the 2018 New York Festival of Books in the Romance category.

His latest book, "Christmas in Prague" is available for pre-order on www.barnesandnoble.com and signed copies can be preordered from his official website below.

Rick is a member of CharlotteLit and the Charlotte Writer’s Club. Most recently, Rick hosted a book marketing session called “Beyond the Book: engaging readers, creating super fans” as a part of the Author Talks series at CharlotteLit.

Thanks for your question. I lived in Prague for seven years, and while there are some similarities between myself and my main character, Joseph, the book is fiction.

I have heard from readers who lived in Prague in the late nineties that the book accurately reflects the feeling of that era. But to achieve that effect, I had to distance myself from my actual experience, and let the characters take over.
