Guest Post | The Hunger Gap

Guest-Post

Hello everyone, Holly Day here. Today my story The Hunger Gap is released.

Do you know what the hunger gap is?

In Sweden, where I live, we can’t grow things all year. Our winters are too dark and too cold. Some crops can survive in the garden beds, kale for example, but they don’t grow. So everything we want to eat during the year we have to plant during spring and summer, and then we need to preserve it. Or had to, is more correct since we now have fresh fruit and veg all the time in the s...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | The Dead Don’t Lie

Interview

Today, we have fellow JMS Books writer, Anne Russo, here for an interview. Welcome, Anne!

Tell me about your latest book/series?

Well, it’s my first novel (published, that is) and the first in a planned six-book series. The story centers on the star-crossed romance between Ian and Adam, who fall in love amid a violent and chaotic world. It’s a legacy story of carrying our parents’ sins and how that shapes our own lives and future relationships.

Ian, an assassin, and Adam, a heart surgeon, m...

Cover Reveal | The Empty Egg

Cover-Reveal

Ready for another cover reveal? They’re starting to add up, aren’t they? LOL Today, we have The Empty Egg, it’s part of Aiden and Tristan that will be released on May 22nd, but we thought it might be fun to take one of the short stories and turn it into a freebie. So that’s what we’re doing – giving you 4.5k of Easter kink, for free.

Aiden and Tristan have been together for three-four months when this story takes place. The plot is pretty simple. Aiden has been into the city to buy a special ...

Pet Peeves in Romance Books

Don’t you just hate it when…

A while ago, Nell Iris wrote a post about one of her pet peeves – shower sex. I can’t say it’s a pet peeve of mine, though every time there is such a scene in a book, I sigh a little. It’s not practical. You may snort, go ahead, and I know writing romance isn’t about being practical, but have you ever had sex in a shower? Slippery floors. A husband that’s 11 inches or so taller than me. Lack of things to hold on to. No. But I wouldn’t list it as a pet peeve as such...

Release Day | Pet Delivery

Release-Day

It’s release day! Again. Pet Delivery is now available in the shops. Last time it was live, it was under the name Once in the Underworld, but the title made me think of demons (if you read M/F you might have read Gena Showalter’s The Lords of the Underworld series. Demons yay!) so I changed it.

We have poor Gabe who happens to witness a murder. Once he tells the police he’ll testify he’s whisked away into the witness protection program and is hidden away in Nortown. Gabriel has to leave everyth...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | After Vertigo

Guest-Post

Today, Amanda Meuwissen is here on a visit. Welcome, Amanda!

How Tabletop Character Sheets Can Help You Create Compelling Book Characters

A slightly older title of mine is part of the $1.99 Amazon Monthly Deal for May – After Vertigo.

This title is my second foray into superhero urban fantasy (the first being my two-book series, Lovesick) and tackles issues of acceptance, social anxiety, and enemies-to-friends-to-lovers with a slow burn that is, hopefully, a worthwhile payoff.

It also has a cat...

Cover Reveal | Once in May

Cover-Reveal

Ready for another cover?? I have to admit that there are so many dates, titles and covers spinning around in my head at the moment that I have a hard time remembering what I’ve written about and what I haven’t.

Once in May is one of my favourite stories. I loved writing it, and while it’s been some time – it was first published in 2016 – I still remember Zach and John. Some characters disappear from my head once I’ve written their stories, others remain.

Since this now is an Up North story, a...

Update | Haunted by Deadlines

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt

Right now, it feels like maybe, just maybe, I’ve taken on more than I can handle. The deadlines are coming closer and closer with each day passing, and my workload at the day job is increasing. We also got it confirmed that my son has dyslexia last week, so lots of school contacts and such.

Him being dyslexic is nothing we’re surprised by. I’m dyslexic. By the time you’re reading this, I’ve ...

Up North | Pet Delivery

I’m behind on my character introductions! Right now, I feel like I’m behind on everything, but ah well…

In just a few days, Pet Delivery will be released. It was once called Once in the Underworld, but it made me think of criminals and possibly demons, and since it’s a contemporary story about a guy hidden away in Nortown until he gets to testify, I wanted to change it.

Gabriel was at the wrong place at the wrong time and witnessed a murder. He’s been whisked away to Nortown since the police be...

Guest Post | So Far Away

Guest-Post

Hi everyone, have you missed me since I was here last? It’s always a pleasure to be here, talking to you people and visiting the lovely Ofelia. I’m very grateful for your hospitality and kindness ❤ Today, I’m here to talk about my newest release, So Far Away.

What’s the first thing you’d do if you’d been separated from your significant other (others) for a long time—weeks or even months—and finally got to see them again?

Zakarias and Julian in So Far Away are separated because of a global pandem...
