Read Around the Rainbow | As a Reader, what’s more important to you, the story itself or the way it’s told?

ReadAroundTheRainbow

It’s Read Around the Rainbow time! If you haven’t seen the rainbow posts yet, we’re a group of authors who blog on the same topic on the last Friday of the month. This month’s topic is:

As a Reader, what’s more important to you, the story itself or the way it’s told?

My initial thought was that this is easy – story wins every time! But this might come as a surprise to you LOL, but I’m a bit of a bitch at times. I have a lot of pet peeves, and depending on how lenient I feel on a specific day, t...

Wrap-Up Wednesday | April

It’s Wrap-Up Wednesday time, and this month, I read a few books during the first half. During the second half, I’ve been panic-writing 😆

I picked up some new books. There was the free books thing from Romance Bookworms, and I grabbed a few titles I might not have touched should they not have been free, so that will be interesting 😁

Match with The Demon by Chace Verity

This was one of those books I picked up for free that I probably wouldn’t have read if it wasn’t, and I… eh… It’s quite funny. It’s...

Guest Post | Saved by the Bear by Holly Day

Shut book

Hiya! I’m here as Holly today 😊 A few days ago, Saved by the Bear was released 🥳 It’s a story I wrote to celebrate Tell a Story Day which is celebrated on the 27th of April.

This is the shortest story I’ve published so far this year, and given I’m freaking out about not making my deadlines because my stories get a life of their own and get longer and longer, I fear it will be the shortest for some time. I wouldn’t have minded if it hadn’t been for the chasing-deadlines thing LOL

This story is abo...

WhatToReadWednesday | Gay Romance Books with Poets

I’d like to say this month’s #WhatToReadWednesday post was about gay romance books with poets because it’s Poetry And The Creative Mind Day today, and it’s a day ‘to honor the bright minds of poetry and their craft.’ (directly stolen from Nationaltoday.com) I got all excited when I saw it and thought I’d do a post about it. I have Shut Your Face, Anthony Pace! (It’s always the first title to pop up in my mind when someone says poet) and Think of England, because Daniel da Silva is one of my favo...

Wrap-Up Wednesday | March

It’s Wrap-Up Wednesday time, and I was sure I’d read more than four stories this month, but I’ve scrolled through my apps, and I can’t really find any more, so I guess not. Wonder what I’ve been doing 😨

Prelude to Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts by Lyn Gala

Last month I reread Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts but I was in the mood for more Ondry and Liam but didn’t have the energy to go on to book 2, so I read the prelude. This isn’t available but it contains little snippet...

#WhatToReadWednesday | Gay Romance with 40+ Characters

It’s #WhatToReadWednesday time! Today, it’s As Young As You Feel Day which stems from a movie from the 1950s with the same name. It’s about a 65-year-old man who doesn’t feel old, and I have a feeling 65-year-olds of the 1950s felt older than the 65-year-olds of today. The day is to prove that age is just a number (they haven’t walked in my body in the mornings, because let me tell you, it wasn’t like that twenty years ago 😆).

To celebrate, I thought I’d give you some book recs (since my-bodied p...

Taking Flight is one of my Celtic Myth collection of short stories/novellas and is free from 7th to 9th March. Thanks so much for letting me pop in and tell your readers all about it!

Taking flight

Taking Flight is drawn over a story from the Mabinogion, a book of Welsh folk tales. It’s about Brânwen, sister of King Brân of Wales. Her brother marries her off to Matholwch, King of Ireland, but the marriage goes bad, because Bran and Branwen’s half-...

Guest Post | Batshit Bassel by Holly Day

Hiya! I’m here as Holly today. A few days ago, Batshit Bassel was released 🥳 It’s a rather short story, 75 pages, about Bassel who’s a psychic. He’s not like ordinary psychics, though.

He has no control over his powers, and therefore he can’t do what other psychics do – predict things and save the world and things like that. What he can do, and does very well, is serve soups and talk to people.

Bassel is convinced he can change the world in more subtle ways than through miracles. To give someon...
