Catherine DePasquale has always dreamed of being a writer, but as it sometimes goes, life took her in a different direction. When fate had her unemployed and feeling down, she took out her laptop and typed up a little story that had been floating around in her head for two years. That story became her first novel, A FUTURE SPRING. Since then, she has branched out. Drawing on her Catholic faith, she writes fictional stories that explore moral themes and entertain with realistic characters and engaging plots. When she is not working her day job, knitting, crocheting, or reading, she can be found at her writing desk dreaming up her next story. She currently lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania with her husband.

I don't believe in the old rule "write every day." I write when I know I have something to write about. Sitting and looking at a blank screen with nothing to type creates unnecessary anxiety. (less)

Does Social Media Lead You to God?

In the last few weeks, I’ve tried to limit my time on social media. I’m doing a mini retreat, preparing myself for the Total Consecration to Mary introduced by St. Louis de Montfort. I’ll be blogging about that at a later date, but to prepare for that Consecration, I’ve tried to stay away from social media—in particular Facebook. I did this in an effort to stay focused on things of the Spirit.

“Change doesn’t always mean instability, you know. Being dormant? Now that’s crippling, much worse than change.”
Catherine DePasquale, Vocation

“Everyone needs a second chance, Michael. Some of us need a third or fourth chance.”
Catherine DePasquale, The Restoration of Michael Danvers

“If you lived my life, you wouldn’t believe in coincidence. I shouldn’t even be here.”
Catherine DePasquale, The Restoration of Michael Danvers

“If you follow the will of God, you know that in spite of all the terrible things that happen to you, you will never lose a final refuge. You know that the foundation of the world is love, so that even when no human being can or will help you, you may go on, trusting in the One that loves you.”
Pope Benedict XVI

“Never say you know the last word about any human heart.”
Henry James

“The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. No, the true measure of a man is this: how quickly can he respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give.”
Philip K. Dick

“Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape.”
Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

“I am not alone at all, I thought. I was never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent. For this is still the time God chooses.”
Taylor Caldwell
