Kai Darrow is a dragon shifter and the next leader of the Dásreach Council – that is if he and the other twelve members of the Thirteen can find their mates. Years of frustration push Kai to take action and with a little luck and finesse maybe he can find the woman of his destiny.
Alvena Anderson prefers books over people, yet she still craves love and adventure. In a rut, a trip with her Book Worm friends is just what she needs – until unexplained accidents, a Psychic reading, and a tattooed hottie from the plane make her want to run home.
Unbeknownst to the Thirteen a darkness is working against them, preventing possible mates from coming into contact with them. Working in the shadows and using human pawns, the darkness has set its sights on Alvena and her friends.
Can she accept her real life hero before it’s too late?

Lessons Learned
So I was going through my WordPress image file and deleting the images that I will NEVER use again…I ignored the prompt box that popped up. I did this twice. So about 100 pictures deleted. That prompt box was telling me that the images would be deleted everywhere on my WordPress account to include the blog pages! Ooops!

Parenting 101
Raising kiddos (Or even watching them) is a lot of work. It is not like the commercials, where the kiddos and adults are smiling, singing, and skipping with ice cream in their hands. It is more like chasing after orangutans, who have red lipstick in their hands, are wearing white, and your soul job is to keep them from getting a speck of lipstick on them.
Welcome to parenting.
Often times, you WILL find your child in a similar if not the same situation as dear ole’ kitty here. How do they manage this? I’m not sure, but they do! lol
The “perfect parent” thing to do would be to help them out of their sticky situation; however, a realistic parent, after dealing with sticky situations non-stop, will grab their phone (as long as kiddo’s life isn’t in danger) and snap a picture. I mean, this stuff is good to show the kiddo’s future bf or gf. I personally want to turn the pictures into a billboard, when they go off to college and have the billboard across from their dorm room. My oldest goes to college after summer. (evil grin)
The invisible item search. My 8 year old is NOTORIOUS for this one. It’s usually the shoes. How do you lose shoes in a bedroom? Don’t know how, I will get you connected with my son and he can teach you. However, just know that when someone walks in the room after you ‘lose your shoes’, they will find it within 2 seconds, because your shoes will be in the middle of your room in plain sight!
The Game of Brushing One’s Teeth
“I brushed my teeth, mom!” Lies! All lies! “Did you brush your teeth? Tell me the truth.” (stare at kiddo firmly. Kiddo looks around trying to avoid eye contact. Kiddo finally sighs.) “No,” they whisper. “Yeah. I can tell.” (Kiddo huffs) “How did you know?” (I turn and let out the breath I’ve been holding.) “Because you have damn dragon breath!”
Note: When doing a breath check to see if the kiddo has, in fact done the task, NEVER…I repeat, NEVER…breathe. Simply look at the teeth. To verify clean breath, your eyes will water if the toothpaste smell is strong. Your eyes will water & stomach will churn if their breath is funky.
Well, my castle has been taken over by kiddos, who are chasing the dog around so my concentration has once again been stolen. Perhaps, I will be able to write more later…doubtful. (HA)
What are some of the things you notice as a parent, caregiver or teacher? Or things you notice in public with children? Don’t be shy. Let’s hear em’.
Happy Reading, Happy Friday & XoXo,

Motivation…
Motivation can be such a hard thing to find and keep in motion. Today was one of those days. Every time (the past few days), I tried to get something accomplished, something happened. My back is the main culprit. I have a chronic back illness/issue (not sure what you would call it). It flared up and has been hurting the past 3 weeks. It has been so bad, that I have screamed in pain, taking pain pills, and needed my husband & children to help me get up, move around, etc. It has totally sucked.
However, I am not letting that stop me. I am currently listening to my husband snore (sorry, if you’re reading this, babe, but you’re distracting me! HA!). I wrote about a thousand plus in my later work in progress for the ‘A guide to claiming a scaredy cat’ anthology, so I feel accomplished. Now, I am blogging this. That’s two things down. Oh, and I put the dishes up. Barely. I was barreled over trying to do that task, but it got done.

Take a bite…
2018 for me will be filled with lots of challenges, goals, and book releases. One of my upcoming novellas to keep your eyes opened for is Bite of a Lierum. This novella is part of the Intertwined Fates Series. The anthology, My Fated Valentine, has one of the other novellas in it- Kiss of a Vampire.
I am so excited to push ‘publish’ on this book. It has been fun to write. Honestly, it has been a while since I was able to write and enjoy it. Lately, my writing has felt like a ‘task’. I hate tasks, because then it is work work. (blah)
The cover for Bite of a Lierum was done by the lovely C.D.Gorri. In case you aren’t familiar with her or her writing, check out her Facebook page. C.D. Gorri FB Page

A look inside Bite of a Lierum:
“Then we will bring her in and ask for forgiveness,” Syre snarled advancing towards me. I sighed, because a fight or flee would be inevitable. I did not take well to threats.
“Now is not the time,” Tobias said hinting at Ander and the other lierums who were lurking up on us. Syre stopped and tuned in his senses to the lierums. He frowned.
Lierums were what human referred to as ‘werewolves’. The tales of werewolves did lierums no justice. Lierums were giant wolf-like beings. They were quick on their feet, ferocious in battle, and worked well as a pack. They were mesmerizing to watch in battle.
The lierums were massive silhouettes moving swiftly through the trees. The closer and closer they got the more details I was able to admire. Their fur was thick and swayed with the wind. Each of them had distinctive fur and eye colors.
“This isn’t over,” Syre said pointing at me.
“I look forward to seeing you again,” I said smirking.
The vampire males took off in a dash towards the vampire kingdom, but I knew that they would backtrack as soon as they thought they were out of lierum and my senses. When the vampire males were gone, the lierums appeared in human form and approached me.
“Suspicious,” I asked laughing. Ander grinned and pointed at Elijah.
“Elijah’s intuition led us here,” Ander said laughing.
Ander was the alpha male of this pack of lierums. He was taller and broader than all the other lierums. His hair was black, eyes bright yellow, and skin a dark olive.
Elijah was one of the younger lierums, but he was almost as tall as Ander. His hair was dirty blonde, his eyes dark blue, and skin the color of Ander’s. Elijah was swift on his feet and ferocious in battle. He never ceased to amaze me.
I could stare at him all day and night, and never get tired of looking at him. Every time he was near, I felt like a youngling. Our eyes would meet, I would melt and quickly divert my attention. His presence beside me warmed me to the core. There was no denying my attraction for him.
Elijah and I had gotten along well. He was timid around me when we first met, but soon opened up. I didn’t have many I consider friends, but Elijah and the lierums were. This is why and how I knew my attraction to Elijah would never become more.
Stay tuned for more updates about:
Bite of a Lierum, Intertwined Fates Series, and more of my books.
Happy reading & XoXo

2018 shall bring…
I have high hopes for 2018. If it gets out of line, I plan on using a good paddle. None of this crap like 2017 (No offense, 2017, but you SUCKED!)
My Fated Valentine anthology that I am part of, hits shelves February 8th (Amazon) and 14th for other stores! Super excited for that! The proceeds are going to St. Jude’s.

Kiss of a Vampire is my contributing paranormal love story, which is actually going to be part of my Intertwined Fates Series. I am super stoked about introducing you all to that series. It will expand over 6 books with 6 different characters, whose fates are…intertwined (duh! LOL) Kiss of a Vampire won’t be published on its own until September 2018 or so; therefore, you’ll have to buy My Fated Valentine anthology to see the goods, if you can’t wait until September

JUMANJI
[image error]An AMAZING leading cast! O-M-G! Dwayne, Jack, Kevin & Karen work sooooo well together! I was laughing so hard during the movie. I had tears in my eyes & my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing loudly!
Dwayne and Kevin are two peas in a pod! I love when they star in a movie together! My mother and I went to a sneak preview of Central Intelligence and the entire theater was in tears, because we were all laughing so hard! These two are amazing!
Jack Black is hilarious to watch play a woman trapped in a man’s body. They definitely picked the right actor for this role!
Karen Gillan’s role didn’t leave a huge impression on me; however, she was a good actress. (Not going to take that away from her
