Facebook-Instagram crashed, but not me!

(Graphic made by the lovely Author Michelle Savage!)Chicken Little | Chicken little disney, The sky is falling, Children's book charactersImage found on Pinterest

Cue Chicken Little “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” Okay, so the sky isn’t falling but a HUGE shocker hit the world when Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp crashed today! All three! I’m still in shock. At first, I thought I was in Facebook jail since my messenger wouldn’t work; however, after some handy-dandy Google, I discovered the crash. Were all of you affected? Or just a select few? The reports said “a good portion of users” were affected… but I think that’s their way of not saying “Dear God, all three of our sites crashed and we’re royally screwed!” I mean, no company wants to admit that! (HA!)

Author Spotlight

What inspires you to write?

I would say, my hubby since he is my true Romance story. But honestly, I would have to say music. You will never not find me with headphones in my ears while I’m writing. Depending on the scene does change the type of music I might play. At times, I even find myself listening to the same song over the course of hours, if that’s how long it takes me to write that scene or scenes.

Favorite Author?

Nicholas Sparks. I have read everything he’s written and thoroughly enjoy his writing style. Now, as most of his stories are tear jerkers, I find they make the Romance a little more realistic. Not everyone gets that happy ending, but they do get to grow and have adventures with a great love/romance.

Ideal place to write?

My office I would say is ideal but here recently it’s been the bedroom. A cover, laptop tray, phone, headphones, coffee and my kittes. Really, I can write pretty much anywhere long as my muse is ready to rock and roll.

What genre do you write in?

Do you read mostly in this genre too?I write Romance with so many subgenres. Some are contempered, others are supernatural or historical, most have an erotic feel. Love and romance is love and romance and I don’t like to be tied to one subgenre when it comes down to it. I will read anything though, depending on my mood.

Who do you look up to?

That’s easy, my mother. She is the hardest working woman I’ve ever met. She’s strong, courageous, beautiful inside and out. She’s an amazing mother, just there isn’t enough words. I was blessed to have been born to her. She has taught me so much in my life and has been my hero longer than she knows.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Kentucky and I wouldn’t change that for literally anything.

Do you have children? Pets?

I do not have any children unless you count my furbabies. We have three kitties that each have a personality of its own. Spartacus, he’s a daddy’s boy. Jackson, he’s a mama’s boy. Leonidas, he’s a mixture of each depending on who has what he wants in that moment. They are wonderful and our babies.

Are you married?

I would consider myself married, yes. We might not be legally in the eyes of the state or what not but my man, Nick, and I have been together going on fifteen years and love each other more each day. As corny as it sounds, we have that love that hurts at times, because it’s so powerful and consuming.

Have you ever visited or lived abroad?

Nope. I do plan someday to go to a few places but as of now no. There is just so much of my own country I haven’t seen yet.

Besides writing, what is your passion?

I enjoy baking, but I wouldn’t say it’s my passion. I honestly don’t know on this one if I’m honest.

Biggest pet peeve?

Liars. Trust is a huge thing in my life. If I lose that trust, it’s just so hard to regain in my eyes.

Are you a coffee or tea drinker (Which do you prefer)?

I drink coffee daily so I suppose I would say coffee drinker. However, I do love my sweet tea.

What is one food/beverage that you could never give up?

Salads, lame as that might sound. I just love them.

Are you Team Unicorn or Team Dragon?

I’d have to say Dragons.

If a zombie apocalypse happened and you had to choose two items from the following list of items, which one would you choose and why? Titanium baseball bat, running shoes, shotgun with two cases of shells, a novel by your favorite author, Samurai sword, a Knight’s armor suits, semi-truck filled with chocolate, or a puppy/kitten?

Item one would be the Samurai sword. I mean, girl needs to defend herself and would hate to run out of shells with the shotgun. Lol. Item two would be water but that’s not on the list so we will go with running shoes.

What is one silly, fun, or nerdy fact about you?

I don’t consider it silly or anything, but some do see my obsession with Charlie Hunnam a little silly or well, okay crazy. Lol. (I, S.E. Isaac, vouch for her obsession! Seriously! The woman needs an intervention! HA)

The review…

WARNING!!!!

Hotel and location: Econo Lodge, Durant, Oklahoma

The hotel is not the kind you take your family too. My mom and I only stayed here because we were exhausted and would be hitting the road early.

I booked through Expedia but when i went to check in the hotel charged me a $50 upfront deposit that would be returned once I checked out.

The room (106) was a good size however, the door to the room looked like it had been kicked in. Walls were patched up. On the wall by the trashcan was disgusting stuff. I coule tell it was from things being thrown into the trashcan. Wasnt even attempted to be cleaned or wiped down.

The towels were very dingy. One of the “washcloths” was beyond stained.

At the end of our visit, we piled together the dirty linen we used and made sure all trash was in trashcans. (My mom used to be a housekeeper so she’s instilled proper etiquette into me for leaving a hotel room.)

I checked out early and was told the $50 deposit would hit around 11am, when the other guests started checking out.

Around noon i checked my bank account and $50 was there. I was looking at my account today and saw a $25 charge from Econo Lodge.

I just got off the phone with a Kristy, who said she’s the manager. She said i was charged because the housekeeper said we ruined bath mat, towels, and washcloths. This has me floored.

I travel all over the country doing reviews on hotels, reataurants, attractiona, and more. Trashing others property is not in my nature nor will it ever be. So, now i get to dispute this charge with my bank.

CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS! They gave me my $50 back the day I checked out and two days later charged me $25! I almost didn’t catch it. I had seen the $50 refunded so I assumed I was good. No! Shady!

Review of The…

Half-ass spoiler alert!

I complained on Facebook, but for those who don’t follow me on my Social Media accounts, let’s recap the Green Knight. The Green Knight (2021) - FilmaffinitySynopsis from IMDB:

An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, “The Green Knight” tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.

Recap/Tangent from Me:

The main character is an upper class man, Gawain, who is nephew to the king and has a prostitute as his lady. This guy’s mother dabbles in magic and conjures trouble while he’s at a party with/for the king. Groot’s big brother or uncle shows up to the party on a horse with a fancy ax. Groot’s uncle challenges the Knight’s of the round table to a fight. They aren’t having it. They don’t want to fight a demonic plant-looking dude. Gawain stands up and accepts the challenge.

Fast forward past the spoilers, a year later. We get to watch Gawain ride a damn horse for five minutes straight! I didn’t have my timer so it could be a minute or two more or less. The entire scene was pointless. Plus, Gawain was rude and didn’t talk to the children, who followed behind him shouting ‘the Green Knight’ or whatever it was they said. Gawain was a snob. It was around this scene that I decided it was time to go refill our popcorn and my mom’s drink because I was dozing off (several times!) My mom and I kept sharing glances and whispering “what the hell is this?”

This is when the even weirder stuff starts happening. I don’t want to give away too much but the kiss was a bit much! If you read the book, this part makes complete sense. However, we never read the book so after the kiss my mom and I stared at each other like deer in headlights. Oh, almost forgot the naked giants. One was breastfeeding, which is fine, but had NOTHING to do with the story line AT ALL! Okay, this is turning into a ramble. Sorry. There was just so much wrong with this film. Cheesy, boring, nothing to do with the story line, etc. etc.

I don’t promote drugs but I imagine if you watched The Green Knight, while intoxicated in some form, you might think this movie was amazing. However, mom and I were sober, but definitely needed a drink afterwards because we left not knowing what the hell we had just watched. The story line was all over the place (kind of like this blog! :-p ) and nothing added up to make sense. Especially the ending. I wish I was a blogger that spoiled movies, but I try not to be. All I can say is do NOT watch this movie! Unless you’re trying to torture yourself or someone you took to the movies with you!!!

Sea Turtle-Lion-Dragon? Magestic creature. Yes.

Yesterday Update: Sir Hubby Guru found me a picture on Pinterest. He challenged me to using the lightbox to trace and recreate the picture. Man. Oh. Man. I was so dizzy and nauseous by the time I was done. It was like staring down into the sun; however, I got it done. Well mostly. It still needs a touch-up or two but overall I’m happy. **If you find the link to the original picture, please, post it in the comments or message me the link so I can post it. I have searched all over Pinterest for the picture so I can share the link & artist. However, I have been unsuccessful. [image error] Sir Hubby Guru had sent me only the picture but I want to give credit where credit is due. 🙂 ** Final picture with camera flash on! 🙂I started in the living room on my lap with the light box under yellow lighting… Then ended up in the kitchen under soft-yellow lighting. The light box has intense white lighting so it is quite the illusion (nauseating) with yellow lighting shining down, but nonetheless, I overcame the obstacle… Somewhat. lol WP is being a pain in my butt right now. It took my five minutes to get it to switch to a bolder & larger font, not to mention is wouldn’t let me type at all. I had to “save draft”, hit “refresh” and PRAY I didn’t lose my blog. I think that’s my sign to end this blog here. XOXO,S.E. Isaac

I’d like to report a robbery…

Hello, 911. I’d like to report a robbery.

Something caught my attention as I was getting up to move to the kitchen to write. I noticed this little guy on the fence and something orange fall. So me being Little Miss Nosey had to see what Rocky was up to.

He climbed back down the lattice to investigate his situation and fallen ‘orange item’.

By gosh, I think he’s got it!

And away we go!

Houston, we have a problem!

Hang in there, Rocky! Don’t let go like Rose did to Jack!

(Phew) We’re back in business! Orange object a.k.a Das To-Mat-O was saved!

Rocky managed to hold on to Das To-Mat-O this round! (cue Eye of the Tiger music!)

Practice! Practice! Practice!

So, if you’ve been following my journey (blogs), you’d know that I dabble in a bit of everything. Well, about a year ago, I decided to order a tattoo kit and start learning how to tattoo. A key part of tattooing is hand-eye coordination & smooth lines. To help me hone in on this skill, hubby bought me a light box/pad.

I found a picture on Pinterest and printed it out to practice with. You can find the original picture here: https://pin.it/33dgRxp

Looks like a blank piece of paper, but then I turn on the power button to the light box/pad…

The concentration and tracing begins…

AND… VOILA!

I tried to take a good picture of the final product, but when I upload it to the computer it looks wonky. Almost like it’s pixel-ated. (SMDH) Oh, well. You get the point! :-p
