This Podcast Will Change Your Life, Episode Seventeen - Stories.

Bam! The new episode of This Podcast Will Change Your Life is here, like right now. It is titled "Stories" and it stars none other than the quite cool Barry Graham, author of TBWCYL, Inc favorite The National Virginity Pledge and grand master of Dogzplot, Paper Hero Press and the most excellent Achilles Chapbook Series. We are quite geeked to have connected with him before he bundles up the family and heads off to his new gig at Rutgers and we think you will be as well. Please note, that if you

Full of It by Tim Hall.

Yes, we know, we've been reading like mad lately, and we think it has something to do with our lapsed subscription to the New Yorker, some ramped-up travel, the season finales of any number of the endless television shows we watch, and maybe most importantly, the really excellent books that keep landing in our mailbox. Today we finished Full of It by good friend Tim Hall, and here's what we think you need to know, it's a breezy, fun read; a mash note to what seems more and more like a bygone era

Some Things That Meant The World To Me by Joshua Mohr.

We have only recently met author Joshua Mohr, and electronically at that, but after reading about his soon to be released debut novel Things That Meant The World To Me we were quite geeked to take a look. Having done so, what do we think? Strange and sad, endlessly cringe-inducing and very, very wrong. In other words, a must read. We hope you check it out. [image error]

This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, Week Eighteen - "Ginormous."

You might think that the title of this week's edition of This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, "Ginormous," and the thinking behind it, might have something to with the crazy level of misplaced ego driving this project in the first place, because our inspiration this week is driven by our fascination with just how big TBWCYL, Inc. spokesperson Ben Tanzer's head seems to get with each passing year. The thing is we're not just referring to his ego, his head really seems to be getting bigger an

Joe Meno. Orange Alert. Goodness.

We were really pleased to see that the good people at Orange Alert have a new interview up with Chicago's own Joe Meno. Reading it, we realized just how little we have referenced Joe Meno in this blog over the years and what a tremendous oversight that is. He's not just a great writer, and a killer representative of what it means to be called a Chicago writer, but when we were first getting started we used to run into him here and there at readings and other such events and rarely have we met a

William Walsh is on the Apostrophe Cast. Pretty cool, yes? Way.

Check it out, William Walsh, author of the wonderful book Questionstruck is up at the Apostrophe Cast today. We here at TBWCYL, Inc. headquarters are big fans of both, you may recall that spokesperson Ben Tanzer has done a joint for Apostrophe Cast, thanks again to Guy and the crew there, and we published a great piece of William's in This Zine Will Change Your Life, and it is always fun to run across these sorts of literary intersections. Having said all that, we hope you will take a listen, be

The Parlor's 2nd Annual Emerging Writer's Festival. And the Pete Anderson.

Look we know that The Parlor's 2nd Annual Emerging Writer's Festival which is being held on Saturday, May 23rd directly conflicts with the Pilcrow Lit Fest, and let us be the first to say that this is way unfortunate, but we still want to hype it, because not only is it a wonderful event run by wonderful people in a wonderful venue, and not only are we still thrilled to have participated in a Parlor podcast ourselves, but this year's festival will highlight among others This Zine Will Change You

Does Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine suck? Apparently it does.

Predictable. Flat. Stale.

Our intentions with this faux-corporate blog have always been straight-forward enough. We want to change lives, but we prefer to do so when we can accomplish this through the books we write. We want to hype indie everything. And we want to celebrate all that is Elizabeth Crane, the long-time muse for this blog, when we aren't talking about Diane Lane, Scott Baio, John Hamm or Connie Britton.

And we think we accomplish much of this.

We also however strive to offer the occas
