How to Fix your Windows 10 Bluetooth
The reason that you are having
a faulty Bluetooth connection could vary; thus, there are several solutions
that you can go through. Below are some of the necessary steps you could try to
fix the problem at hand.
You will need to ensure
the Bluetooth is enabled as this could accidentally get disabled on the Windows
10 tablets and computers. Thus, open the Action Center, by clicking the notification icon, then look
at the Bluetooth tile. If it appears dim, then it is off.
Try and turn the
Bluetooth icon off and on, this is a quick reset of the Bluetooth setting. One
that can quickly fix any connection problems you might be having. This move forces
the device to search again manually.
Try and move your
Bluetooth device a little closer to the Windows 10 computer. The problem could
be that the device is just out of range. When making the initial connection try
and have the devices close to each other.
Ensure that your device
can support Bluetooth, the Bluetooth feature might be common with most devices,
but in some instances, it is not available. If Bluetooth has not been mentioned
on its packaging, chances are it does not support it.
Try and turn your
Bluetooth device on, it needs to be on for successful connection on the Windows
10 system. If the pairing process takes longer than expected, the Bluetooth
device might automatically turn itself off because of no activity taking place.
Try and restart the
Windows 10 device. Doing this can quickly fix the problems being experienced in
Windows 10; this is including the Bluetooth connection problems.
Check if there is a
Windows 10 update. Having the latest version keeps your devices secure and will
also help you pair the Bluetooth devices. When performing this update, you need
to ensure your device has been connected to a power source, as the update could
drain the battery power.
If there are other
devices nearby try and turn off the Bluetooth. It should not be a problem in
this modern age; however, when trying to pair a new device, having the other
devices Bluetooth on could make the process a little challenging. This should
only be experienced in the initial pairing phase.
Check if there are any
Bluetooth conflicts, there can be a device having problems connecting when they
have previously been paired to other computers. This issue is quickly resolved
when you turn off Bluetooth connected devices apart from one.
Still experiencing
problems, then you should try and run the Windows 10 troubleshooter. It has
been designed with a built-in troubleshooter that can quickly scan possible
issues and fix them for you.
Try and remove the
Bluetooth device and add it again. This could help you correct any problem that
you might be experiencing with pairing.

The Passive Income BluePrint: How to Make Money While You Sleep
Passive income is becoming more popular by the day. However, many people still do not understand how beneficial it is. Believe it or not, making money in your sleep is not the biggest benefit. This book outlines more important reasons why everyone should seek a passive income stream or be in the process of creating one. I also offer semi passive strategies.
Planning for retirement should not be a huge headache – unless you think that you can only prepare for retirement by saving. If a sudden change in your life or the economy happens, your savings may not be very helpful in retirement. It is no secret that savings are just not enough. You will have unexpected expenses especially in your old age and you are likely to underestimate the amount you should save. People are living longer nowadays but that should not mean they want to work more years. A passive income stream means that you will have constant cash flow. You will be getting an amount of money regularly, unlike with savings. It will be like getting a paycheck without actively working.

Knights of Olympus
Magnus and Tegan drove into the small town, riding their motorcycles and enjoying the passing scenery around. Magnus was a large man, broad in shoulder and strong in looks. He had strong features and a neatly cropped beard. He was dressed in thick leather and a sword strapped over his back. Tegan was a little smaller but no less impressive. She was well muscled, strong but yet still feminine. Both were patch wearing members of the Knights of Olympus, a gang of motorcycle warriors tasked with defending those who cannot defend themselves against threats that normal society both ignores, and is ill equipped to fight. However, on this particular ride, it was easy to get lost in the scenery and temporarily forget all the problems in the world. It seemed like small little places like this were immune somehow. Both were considering driving through when rain started to hit the front visor of their helmets. If it picked up it would be hard to keep going and it was growing rather late. The riders saw a nearby inn and drove in to see if they could get a room for the night. The pair parked their bikes, taking off their helmets and stretching to shake off the tense muscles of a long day of riding. Both riders put their helmets on their bikes and headed into the office.
Inside the lights were on, the place seemed open but there was no one in sigh. Tegan walked up to a bell and rung it. Within seconds the pair heard a back-door open and a person start walking toward them. It was an older woman and she had her cellphone in her hand, looking at it intently.
“Sorry to bother you.” Tegan replied. “I need a room“
Without warning the woman behind the counter picked up a baseball bat and came around, swinging it at Tegan. Tegan stepped back, narrowly missing being hit.
“Hey!” Tegan shouted as she backed out of the office, just missing being hit by another swing. “What the hell?”
Magnus stepped in, catching the baseball bat mid swing and stopping it in its tracks. The woman showed surprising strength, wresting the much larger man for control of the weapon. Magnus shifted, the force of the struggle sending the woman through the front window of the office. Magnus looked concerned, worried he had used too much force but the woman sprang up as if she felt no pain, as if she were ignoring the blood from her now glass filled wounds.
The woman swung and swung, refusing to answer anything Tegan asked of her. Tegan looked back to where their bikes were but saw that two teenagers, each with a phone in their hand and an improvised weapon in the other heading toward her.
“Just what the hell is going on?” Tegan demanded again. “You hate outsiders that much?”
“They look like they are out for blood.” Magnus stated as he went to draw his sword from his back.”
“They are civilians!” Tegan stated, stopping Magnus from drawing his blade. “They seem to be controlled somehow.”
Magnus sighed and turned to the oncoming attackers. “Stand down…this is your final warning!”
No one answered, instead attacking the Knights unconditionally. Magnus put up an arm as one of the teenagers swung with a small length of chain. The chain wrapped around his arm, blocked from doing harm by his thick leather jacket. He yanked, ripping the chain out of the teen’s hand. He grabbed it, using it for himself, swinging and trying to keep the attackers at bay. He did not want to hurt them but since they seemed unable or unwilling to reason with him he might have no choice. He kept them at the chains length; even in their violent state they had some semblance of strategy.
“They all seem glued to their phones!” Tegan shouted. “If there are answers to be had, one of their phones is the key”
Magnus nodded, swinging the chain, smacking a phone out of one of the teen’s hands, watching it fall to the ground. He swung the chain again in a distraction before Tegan rolled under the other two attackers and grabbed the phone. She pocketed the phone, rejoined Magnus and the pair ran to their bike. Magnus beat back one of the attackers with his helmet, buying time for the pair to start their bikes. They tore off, causing the attackers to chase her for a few meters before they all gave up.
Though they were out of danger and could leave they did not. Even despite the spitting rain could be far from danger in moments. However, there was something very wrong going on in the town and as Knights of Olympus, they knew they had to do something about it.
Magnus and Tegan drove around, making sure they were not being followed and parked between two buildings. Tegan took out the captured phone and found it still open into an app called “Enchantech.”
“Some kind of game?” Magnus said as he looked over Tegan’s shoulder. “I wonder where their head office is.”
“I am sensing some magic in it.” Tegan replied. “It is quite difficult to blend enchantments and technology, but the result is usually frightening. “I will see if I can track it down.”
Tegan took out her own phone and looked it up, soon discovering quite a bit about the mysterious company.
“What do you have?” Magnus asked.
“As you can imagine the the head office is actually in this small town.” Tegan explained. “It is not unusual for tech companies to set up in small towns, far away from competition or prying eyes. I think we should go pay Enchantech a visit and see if we could get to the bottom of what was going on.
The pair decided to go on foot. Though where they hid was fairly empty, there was bound to be more people around and the sound of their bikes would easily alert them. They had to be stealthy, it was the best plan.
Magnus and Tegan went from alley to alley, hiding mostly in the shadows. They saw more and more people, all moving in small groups as if they were searching. There were some people off to the distance, running from others. Magnus was about to run over and help but saw the attackers catch up. They did not kill the runners, instead taking the persons phone and putting something in their ear. Within seconds the individual went ridged, getting up and joining the party.
“That has to be it!” Tegan said with a nod. “They are somehow being controlled, and we got to go to the source.”
The pair kept going, moving as stealthily as they could, soon finding the main Enchantech building and sneaking inside. There were many controlled people protecting it, those they could not sneak by Magnus knocked out. Tegan took the devices out of their ears but they were out as if they were exhausted.
“Thank goodness someone is here.” A voice said over the intercom. “Are you with the police?”
“Knights of Olympus.” Tegan replied. “We are here to help. Who are you?”
“I am a project manager.” The voice replied. “I think I might be one of the only ones not affected. I need your help.”
“Where are you?” Magnus replied. “We will help.”
A security door opened on its own and a short woman leaned out. “Quick in here!”
Tegan and Magnus went through the door; shutting it behind them and hearing it automatically lock. Magnus then looked to the woman. “You need to start explaining…now.”
“It was meant to be the next phase of video gaming.” The woman explained. “We would use a device to send signals to the brain and simulate aspects of the game beyond anything available. However, there was a problem, the game was too real and people were caught up in it. Their minds are like zombies, all they care about is finishing a game that never actually ends.”
“How do we stop it?” Tegan asked. “Is there like a central server or something?”
“No…” The woman responded. “It is backed up on the cloud now, linked to all the devices. I can make something that is immune to the game but I would need one of the affected devices.”
“Well you are in luck.” Tegan replied handing over a phone and one of the earpieces she recovered from the infiltration. “I have these.”
“Perfect.” The woman replied. “I can configure them easily, I just have no way of testing it.”
“I will do it.” Magnus offered. “Just tell me what to do.”
The woman reached out and put the device in Magnus’ ear. “It will work instantly.”
Magnus went to talk but found himself unable, his body seeming to go numb.
“You have done really well.” The woman said with a grin. “Tough, intuitive and strong…you will be my best player yet.”
“What have you done?” Tegan asked, watching Magnus slowly draw his sword, his gaze falling to Tegan with murderous intent on his eyes.
Tegan could only stare at her friend, his body taken away, locking his mind away.
“He will be the new flagship character.” The woman continued. “For when the game goes global next week! Prove your worth, kill your friend!”
Tegan began to back away, staring up at Magnus as he went to bring his word down…however, at the last moment he stopped.
“How is this possible?” The woman asked. “I should have complete control over him!”
“It is simple.” Tegan replied, not breaking her gaze from Magnus. “You are an enchantress and have fund a way to use your bewitching over the cell signal. However, I am a witch, a strong one and your simple game power is no match for my abilities.”
“No this is impossible!” The woman called out. “My plan is perfect. He will be the penultimate warrior!”
“He is.” Tegan replied. “Let me show you!”
Without warning, Magnus turned, swigging his sword and beheading the woman. Instantly the app crashed on the phone and the network began to crash, no longer fueled by the dark enchantment. Magnus snapped out of it and looked to Tegan. “She enchanted me, didn’t she?”
“Yeah she did.” Tegan admitted. “Nothing I couldn’t turn around.”
“I am glad I have you watching my back.” Magnus admitted. “I suppose we will have a lot of confused people in this town.”
“Well that is a job for the authorities.” Tegan admitted. “We took out the enchantress, so our work here is done.”
Magnus smiled. “Sounds good to me…Let’s ride.”

Building The Blueprint For Life On Mars
What is needed to make life on Mars sustainable for a long time? The main essentials of human life include air, water, food, and shelter. However, people require more than just the basic essentials to live comfortably. The Mars One project is becoming a more discussed topic by the media and public in general by the day.
One interesting discussion is the speculation of how the first Mars settlers will create a lasting community on the planet. The supplies that will be transported from Earth are likely to run out – most of them will probably be used in the seven-month journey to the red planet. When those first citizens arrive on Mars, they will have to come up with systems and processes to ensure sustainable resources for their future. In a nutshell, this is what they may be required to have.
Even though humans will be able to produce numerous renewable resources on Mars, they will still need consistent funding from Earth. According to the Mars One project, the estimated initial cost of settling the first four Mars citizens is around six billion dollars. Cost overruns are also a huge possibility. Future funding of this plan would come from donations by private investors, more so because the U.S has proposed budget cuts to space exploration funding. What began, as a grassroots cause might become a fierce global marketing campaign to get steady financial support. A small leak in cash flow may cause trouble.
Space travel comes with a ton of health risks. All astronauts go through a thorough medical screening before undertaking a mission and they are monitored from Earth the entire time. However, this close monitoring will not be enough for permanent life on Mars. It is essential for all citizens be able to access modern medical care. It is almost impossible to have physicians of every specialty on Mars. Medical robots could act as a good alternative to diagnose the IBM Watson prototype and other conditions. Preventive medical technology such as early-warning software to preempt strokes, heart attacks, seizures, and other events might help.
The use of minimally invasive robotic surgery to treat some conditions is also another option. All of these choices still call for equipment, facilities, and expertise. Communication with Earth is vital because of safety, technical support, and research. Nonetheless, as the Mars community grows, the citizens will need stand-alone channels of communication among themselves. Creating a network of underground cables for Internet and communications would be costly. A better choice is satellite phone and Internet. Humans and structures have to be protected from the environment.
Too much exposure to dust storms, severe climate shifts, and radiation are some of the factors that astronauts need to be concerned about. Southwest Research Institute has proposed plastic shielding for protection against cosmic radiation as well as wearing lead protective clothing and thick insulation. For structures, a strong outer coating might do. There are so many things to be considered when it comes to life on Mars. Examining them and coming up with solutions increases the chances of dual-planet existence. How will humans live on the red planet? An MIT team created a design concept in answer to this question as part of an international competition, Mars City Design 2017. The competition concentrated on sustainable cities on the red planet to be built within the next century. The winning urban design by MIT, titled Redwood Forest, built tree habitats or domes, each with a capacity of up to 50 people.
These domes offer open, public spaces with plants and water, obtained from the northern plains. The tree habitats will sit on top of networks of roots or underground tunnels that will give access to private spaces and convenient transportation to the rest of the tree habitats in the community. The roots will not only offer connectivity, but also protect residents from extreme thermal variations, micrometeorite impacts, and cosmic radiation. The MIT team comprised of Caitlin Mueller, assistant professor, and postdoc Valentina Sumini leading nine students from various research groups and departments. Speaking on the project, Sumini says that the city will functionally and physically replicate a forest, utilizing the local resources on Mars such as regolith (or soil), water, the sun, and ice to support life. The forest-like design is also a symbol of the potential of growth as Mars transforms into a green planet. Each tree habitat consists of an inflated membrane structure and a branching structural system. Since the design workflow is parametric, each habitat is different and is part of a diverse forest.
The team seeks to create a comfortable environment for colonists using system architecture and location focused on sustainability—a very critical element for any Martian community. George Lordos MBA ’00, the man responsible for the Redwood Forest system architecture, talked about the crucial role of water in developing vibrant communities on the red planet. He said that, in the Redwood Forest, each tree habitat would use energy from the sun to process and distribute water to the tree. Water enters the soft cells in the dome and provides the much-needed protection from radiation, supplies hydroponic farms, and manages heat loads. Solar panels generate energy to break up the stored water for rocket fuel production, oxygen and charging hydrogen fuel cells (these are necessary in powering long-range vehicles and also for backup energy storage when dust storms occur).
According to the designers, most of the features in the Redwood Forest design could also be used on Earth. For instance, electric vehicles using underground multi-level networks might help with the congestion in cities in America. The tree habitat idea could help in creating working and living spaces in very harsh environments such as the sea floor, deserts, and high latitudes. Hydroponic gardening underneath cities could offer a steady supply of fresh vegetables; fish and fruits with lower transportation and land costs. Other member of the MIT team include AeroAstro PhD students Matthew Moraguez, Alejandro Trujillo and Samuel Wald, Alpha Arsano SM ’17 (Architecture PhD student), Kamming Mark Tam MEng ’15 (research fellow), John Stillman and Meghan Maupin (Integrated Design and management Program graduates) and Zoe Lallas (Civil and Environmental engineering undergraduate).
There is an easier way to launch humans to the red planet—the Martian mission could refuel on the moon. This is the suggestion of an MIT study. Past studies have shown that water ice and lunar soil in specific craters of the moon can be mined and made into fuel. Assume that the necessary technologies are developed when the mission to Mars is set to take place; the MIT team has discovered that a detour to the moon for refueling would cut the mass of the mission by 68%. The team built a model to figure out the best route to the red planet, with the assumption that fuel-generating infrastructure and resources are available on the moon. They determined that the most mass-efficient path would involve launching a crew with fuel, just enough to get it into orbit around Earth. Tankers of fuel would then be launched into space from a fuel plant on the moon. The Mars-bound crew would pick up the tankers, go to a nearby fueling station and refuel before going on their way. This plan is different from NASA’s direct route. It is against the common idea of how to get to Mars, where you have to go straight, carrying everything with you.
This new detour idea is unintuitive. However, from a big-picture view, it could be the most affordable option. Space exploration programs have employed two major strategies in providing resources to mission crews: the carry-along strategy, where all resources and vehicles accompany the crew at all times and the resupply strategy, which involves replenishing the crew with resources on a regular basis. However, the more humans go beyond Earth’s orbit in exploration, the more these strategies become less sustainable. The destinations are far away and budgets are limited. The team suggests that missions to distant destinations will have a lot to gain from an “in-situ utilization” supply strategy; where resources and provisions such as fuel, oxygen, and water are produced and collected on the way. The resources generated in space would be used in place of those that would otherwise come from Earth.
Ishimatsu came up with a network flow model for various routes to the red planet to see if manned missions would benefit from infrastructure and fuel resources in space. The routes range from a direct flight to those with several pit stops on the way. The purpose of the model was to reduce the mass launched from Earth. The model focuses on a future situation in which fuel can be produced and distributed from the moon to certain points in space. According to the model, fuel depots are situated at specific gravitationally bound places areas in space, known as Lagrange points. Ishimatsu argues that this research highlights the importance of having a resource-producing structure in space. He goes on to say that it may not be necessary for the first mission to Mars but its presence will make repeated trips easier and more sustainable. Although the goal is to create a self-sustaining colony in Mars, a ‘road in space’ will make interplanetary travel more affordable.

How to Rename Files Using Linux
A good number of Linux distributions come with a default file manager incorporated in the desktop environment. Generally, a desktop environment includes a window manager and maybe the following:
Panel (taskbar)MenuLaunch barDashboardWidgetsDesktop iconsTools (calculators, notepads, file managers)
A file manager helps you move, create and delete files. Some of the file managers include Dolphin, Nautilus, PCManFM, Thunar, and Caja. They are the default file managers in different Linux distributions.
Renaming a File Using a File Manager
When you look around the file manager you will see an icon that resembles a filing cabinet. Depending on the distribution you are using, you will find the file manager icon on a quick launch bar, on the menu system or on a panel in the launch bar. On the left panel of any file manager is a list of places such as other devices, the desktop, recycle bin, and the home folder.
The right panel contains the files and folders that are in the place you have selected on the left panel. The steps used to rename a file are the same regardless of the distribution, file manager, and desktop environment.
Right click on the folder or file you are interested in select “Rename”.
Renaming a File Using the Linux Command Line
This guide will teach you how to rename a part of the file, the complete file and the file that symbolic links point to.
Renaming a File
The syntax for this is not that obvious. This is the command for doing that:
rename expression replacement file
Why is the command not as simple as rename old file new file? Although it may not seem like it, the Linux rename command makes things very easy when you want to rename several files at once. If you have named several files wrongly (maybe used Mexico in the file names instead of France) you can rename them all at the same time:
rename Mexico France *
Renaming Files That Symbolic Links Point to
A symbolic link works like a desktop shortcut, pointing to a file. A symbolic link has no data; all it has is a path to the physical file.
To create a symbolic link, use the following command:
In –s
For instance, if there is a file named Eiffel Tower France in the France pictures folder, you can make a symbolic link to that file in another folder called vacation with the name Francevacation.
Use this command:
In –s ~/pictures/Francepictures/eiffeltowerFrance
~/pictures/vacation/Francevacation
If you run the Is –It command, you will see the symbolic links files.
Since the Eiffel tower is in Paris you can rename the eiffeltowerFrance picture to eiffeltowerParis using this command:
rename France Paris /home/pictures/Francepictures/eiffeltowerFrance
To rename using the symbolic link:
rename –s France Paris /home/pictures/vacation/Francevacation
To See If the Rename Has Worked
Use this command:
rename –v Mexico France *
You will see what has been renamed.
Another Method of Renaming Files
For those who prefer the simple way of doing things, here is an easy method for you. Use the mv command:
mv oldfilename newfilename
Why 3D Printing Matters in Healthcare
Technology in healthcare has really come a long way, but many of the innovations of today are still yet to gain momentum as the 3D Printing technology already has so far.
Now, 3D Printing is taking over, making things even easier and less costly. Moreover, for a real change in healthcare industry, you can actually count on the technology’s inquisitive nature that a lot is yet to come. Significant achievements and benefits have already been realized in healthcare, thanks to 3D printing tech. Here are some of them.
Using this technology, scientists have been able to print human skin, which comes in handy as a relief for people with skin diseases and other problems as third degree burns. Further, 3D skin printing can also help in the beauty industry. Additionally, 3D printing has helped patients with critical problems as heart defects, aiding in such ways as patch hole in the heart, which has recently proved to be a life-saving procedure.
With such conditions requiring high level precision in the replacement of tissues, only 3D printing has stood fit enough to be applicable in such sensitive cases. Fracture braces have been unsolved problems for well a long time now, but with 3D printing replacing the use of fiberglass wrap, the problem has apparently met its match.
Patients no longer have to be concerned about having remedies that will have to affect their daily life activities. Further, sophisticated 3D printers have helped realize photo-curable issues with transparency, flexibility and texture, which help surgeons to plan complex using data collected from CT scans on patients’ various organs.
3D printing has also made execution of skeletal operations involving cutting easier, besides helping create matching customs guides and tools. It is undeniable that although use of 3D printing as a new technology has to come with some costs, it has helped reduce treatment costs for many patients. With 3D printers, production of certain prosthetic parts of the body as hands can be achievable to many patients as it is cheaper, at hundreds of dollars than using traditional methods, in which case the same would be going for as much as $10, 000.
As this technology continues to advance, realization of replacement of more complex organs is looming in the horizon, which can be a major step in healthcare. Researchers have proved that this is possible, with 3D printing of the outer ear from hydrogel, human cells and nanoparticles. This is a positive indication that with this technology on board, researchers will be able to print more organs, at least some if not all of them.
Conclusion
Researchers in healthcare have been doing almost everything in their ability to come up with answers to complex health questions. With many technologies that have been invented failing to cover this gap, there seems to be a new way of things that will definitely contribute to large developments in understanding and manipulating the human body. It is no doubt that 3D printing is a significant breakthrough that has been sought after, even if many more will come along, this technology has really been the trendsetter.
