Thanks for the interest, Island is going to be a oversized comic magazine. an inch larger than standard comics in both width and height. With 112 pages ish (depending on the issues) Out July 15th for $7.99 . Here’s a recent interview me, Emma, Ludroe and Marian did with
Zainab Akhtar.
Everyone was picked by me and my hard core manga bra, Emma Rios. I’ve been so impressed with the work everyone has turned in. I think people will like it.
Here’s some links to most (not quite all) of the contributors we have lined up.
And there’s guys like Ludroe who doesn’t have a website and a couple other artist and writers who me and Emma have been talking to.

These are two pages from The Leopard, the Transphobic Revenge Giallo that I’m making. These pages were interesting to do because I realized I had never drawn like heteronormative cisgender sex before. And so it was difficult to kind of conceptualize in an interesting way that wasn’t just like reproducing images I had already seen.
So I had this Octopus that the dude Carlos has killed that comes around later in the scene, and I decided to bring that forward and use it and I think largely just use the Octopus to kind of disassociate my ambivalence about this kind of sex into. Of course in the process, I think the scene actually becomes not hetero-normative.
And on the plus side I get to enter into the tentacle porn club. The bottom panel on the first page is a quote of a Hajimi Sawatari photo that is one of my favorite photos from a serious of these really great octopus/women photos he did in the I think 70s.
This is probably too much information, but I thought the discussion of drawing this kind of scene was interesting to share.
