You can read Pluto without knowing Astroboy. I hadn’t read the story it was based on before reading it, but just knowing Atom was astro boy when he showed up was really cool.

Real work is hard and nobody likes it, so have some Final Fantasy Tactics versions of the DA:I Conclave party.
I so badly want to do all the companions, and the advisors, and the various villain-ish figures. Can you imagine Cid Orlandu style Blackwall? And after that, even better, I’d draw the specializations as job-classes. If only.

Does the reduced page count mean a reduced price point?
For Island? Unfortunately not or at least not initially.
Right now (& until #7) it’s at 112 pages for $7.99 vs the average comic on shelves that are around 2.99 or 3.99 for 20ish pages (say $1.50ish for 10 pages) so even at 72 pages for $7.99 it’s still a better comics page per dollar deal than most books.
But still, I hope to bump the page count back up if we can get away with it and still get the creators involved advances.
dear mr boiler, please stop perfect binding island, it ruins two page spreads
Not all of them will be perfect bound. (it’s cheaper not to I think)
