My New YA Book Is Rated 5-Stars on Amazon!
Great jumpin’ Jehoshaphat!
My new YA bookColin McCool and the Vampire Dwarf has been out for about ten days now, and the book has already garnered five 5-star reviews on Amazon.
Thus far the reader feedback has been exceptional, and I’ve been more than pleased with the response the book is getting from readers. But today I received an extra-nice surprise when I saw that Jim Mather, author of The Arrow Catcher, posted another 5-star review!
Jim is an author I respect and admire, so I took his rev...

My Vampire Book For Kids is Now Available in Paperback!
Yes! I just got the first review copies of Colin McCool and the Vampire Dwarf from the printer. Every single time I get the first copy of one of my books in my hands, it’s like Christmas came early.
This edition of the book looks fantastic, if I do say so myself. My cover artist, Dafeenah from IndieDesignz.com, did an outstanding job on the jacket. I think the matte finish really does it justice.
The feedback on this vampire book for kids has been completely positive among early readers. Initia...

Colin McCool and the Vampire Dwarf Is Getting Rave Reader Reviews!

So, I guess the good news is that the first people who have read the finished book apparently like it a lot. :)
Here’s an example of some...

Editing, Editing, Editing…
I’m still going through the first edit of the book, mostly due to the fact that I set it aside to work on other projects. I find that if I walk away from my work for a few weeks, then return to it, I have a lot more clarity regarding the tone, character voice, direction, and so on.
And, I can honestly say that in this case that stepping back for a few weeks has absolutely been helpful. Tightening up a story can be terribly difficult, because often you have to cut away a lot of the work you’ve...
