New Urban Fantasy Novel Fey Druid
Hello, faithful readers!
I decided to take a break from writing the next book in The Druidverse Superhero Fiction Series to tell you about my upcoming release, Fey Druid. Fey Druid is the 18th book in the central Colin McCool storyline, and the second novel in The Sylvan Cycle Series.
I wrote this book for all the Colin McCool fans who’ve stuck with me all these years. Many of the subplots, characters, and events hearken back to the first four books. If you’re one of those readers who rememb...

How to Become a Full-Time Author
How do you become a full-time author? Hmm. People ask about this a lot, and while I think there’s no one right answer, I’ll tell you how I did it.
Here’s what it boils down to:
Write every day.Hone your craft.Study successful authors.Learn the business of selling books.I know that sounds pretty simple, and maybe a little tedious. Let’s look at each component and see if we can’t flesh out how I became a career author.

On Writing Fiction With AI
Every so often, some clown will accuse me of writing fiction with AI. While I have no idea if these people have read any of my work, I’m quite certain they understand very little about the current capabilities of AI writing tools.
AI tools simply can’t produce quality writing. In my opinion, they can’t help a fiction author write faster, either.
Here’s why:

Urban Fantasy Author Update For Summer 2024
It’s time for yet another urban fantasy author update. Here’s what’s cooking in the Druidverse over the next few months…
I’ve completed roughly 50,000 words of the manuscript for Fey Druid, and based on my outline I’m well over halfway done with the novel.
It’s been less than a month since I dropped Treasonous Magic and about four months since I released Superhero World, so it feels like I’m finally back in my pre-cancer writing groove.
Currently, I plan to switch back and forth...

Urban Fantasy Author Update January 2024
Hi everyone,
I’ve been noticeably absent from the blog, my Facebook page, and my reader group lately. I apologize for my silence. The past few years, as many of you know, have been a challenging journey in light of my battle with cancer and subsequent surgery back in May.
In the aftermath, I realized I had perhaps too eagerly plunged back into work and training, not fully allowing myself the time to heal. Unfortunately, this led to escalating post-surgical and post-cancer complications.

Urban Fantasy Author Update July 2023
It’s been a while since I posted an urban fantasy author update. Here’s what I’ve been up to since you last heard from me…
On the summer movie front, I thought Guardians 3 and Across the Spider-Verse were the standout superhero movies of the year. The Flash was an okay superhero flick, but not quite the masterpiece we were promised, and not nearly good enough to allow fans to overlook the star’s many public scandals.
As for the small screen, I’m skipping the third season of T...

My Top Five Novel Writing Tools And Apps
Readers seem to like it when I give them a peek into my writing process. For that reason, this month I’ve compiled a list of my top five novel writing tools and apps for anyone who is interested in the writing tools I use on a daily basis.
IMO, any top 5 list of story writing tools had better cover both hardware and software tools for writers. Let’s start with the hardware, kicking this list off with my fave…
1. Desktop Keyboard
For serious writing sessions, I use a hardwired Das Keyboard Mod...
