BookBeat in France: 'Updated' Audiobook Subscriptions - Publishing Perspectives
Today, Panzer made a stop at the Publishing Perspectives site. There he found a post about BookBeat's entrance into the audio book subscription market in France.
Audio books? Mom reads to me.
According to the post by Porter Anderson, BookBeat made the announcement of their entrance last week. The post also covers BookBeat's pricing structure for their subscription service and the reasoning behind the new pricing for subscribers. The post includes several links to previous posts about other companies in the audio services/publishing/distribution in France.
Panzer says, "This little kitty is confused about which pricing will be used in France: the new one or the old one?"
Note: This is a very long post. Bring a thermos of cocoa and two muffins for today's reading selection. If you plan to follow the links in the post, you'll need to decide what to bring to eat and drink.

A Monday Panzerism
Panzer on the human misconception of their importance:
I'm still not listening.
I went to the vet today. She cleaned my ears.I can hear much better now.
But that doesn't mean I'll do what you say.

Free Christmas Romance Audiobook

Earlier, Panzer found you a free Christmas movie on YouTube to help you get into the holiday spirit. Our traveling kitty boy does know, however, that some of you aren't interested in movies, so he also found you a Christmas audio book.
The audio book, Show Me A Family for Christmas, is by Alexa Verde. It's a Christmas romance almost seven hours long.

Today Panzer stopped in at the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. There our intrepid kitty traveler discovered a post about literary markets accepting submission now.
The title made it really easy for me.
The title of Erica Verrillo's post lists all the information you need to know about the publications' submissions opportunities.
Panzer says, "Be sure to read the guidelines before you submit."
Note: This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of cocoa and a chocolate muffin for today's reading selection. If you plan to follow the included links, you'll need to decided what to bring to eat and drink.

Amazon Kindle Scribe Review: This Note-Taking E Ink Tablet ... - CNET
Panzer was shaken from his evening nap by clapping and cheering coming from the Catosphere. Hopping in the Panzermobile, our brave kitty boy followed all the hoopla to the CNET site. There he found a review of the Amazon Kindle Scribe.
With two reviews it's confusing.
The review of the Amazon Scribe by David Carnoy is extensive. It covers the good and the not-so-good points of the tablet equally. The base Amazon Scribe is $340. Under the post title of David Carnoy's review at the landing page and before his review is a video review by Sarah Lord. This review is separate from the one by David Carnoy which follows hers. So there are two reviews of the Scribe.
Panzer says, "This little kitty can't believe the base Scribe is $340. Do they not know how much kitty kibble that could buy for me?"
Note: This is a long review. Bring a big cup of tea, a big muffin and two chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) for these two reviews.

How to (Maybe) Get Out of Your Contract When Your Scam Re-Publisher ... - Writer Beware (R)
It's been a while since Panzer has been to the Writer Beware (R) site, so he decided to stop in there today. He's really glad he did, because he found a post about scam re-publishers there. Re-publishers are those guys (and gals) who send you an email and offer to re-publish your book and get you wider distribution or get you a movie deal for your book or turn you into a seven figure traditionally published author. Just sign on the dotted line and pay your money.
This is important.
What can you do when that re-publisher doesn't deliver on any of those promices and isn't responding to your contact attempts? Victoria Strauss' post explains the steps you can take to (try to) regain control of your book. While the steps involved appear time consuming and complicated, it's important to follow through if you want your book back. The post contains links to all the major retailers' copyright infringement form pages.
Panzer says, "Victoria Strauss is knowledgeable about all kinds of scammers who prey on writers."
Note:This is a long post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading. If you plan to follow the links in the post, you'll need to decide what to bring to eat and drink.
