Listen Up! || ‘Receipt’ Mind-Melting New Black Dahlia Murder
This dark band of Dahlia slayers is one that I let fester by the wayside of my listening habits for too long, something I still kick the proverbial self for. They just have the kind of name that you hear, or read in drippy metal font, and then think to yourself “Yeahhhh, I already know what this sounds like. Not worth my time.”

If I can hoist one piece of advice onto you, let it be this: Never fucking do that. It may have saved you from listening to some awful shit-music in the past, but how could you even know that without having eventually heard the band?

Bam. Pointless practice.

Continuing it will cause you to miss the surprisingly not-cookie-cutter sonic beast that is The Black Dahlia Murder. Trust me, they’re a beautiful, brutal, and intricate genre-hidden group that is more brutal than anyone ever called for.
