Shining (Norway) || Listen Up!!
Norwegian superstars Shining have released this track The Last Stand in anticipation of their upcoming album The International BlackJazz Society out October 23rd 2015.
The Last Stand is a step back into the jazzier sound of Shining’s earlier work, but what’s great about them is that this doesn’t mean that they are taking one step back to the same place musically. Not with these math-heads. They’re stepping back from 111, their most deeply industrial album to date, and bringing that knowledge with them. It shows in this track, which (last) stands out as the best example I’ve yet seen of how:
Organic signalling between improv-driven band members
can collide with
The planned out precision of industrial metal
to the point that they are one and the same. Shine on, you fucking beautiful Nordic geniuses! Your sound is thick with skill.

This retro side-scroller just popped up on the internet (click the picture to play!) in anticipation of Iron Maiden’s upcoming album The Book of Souls, it bears the name of the album’s lead single, and features Iron Maiden mascot, the lovable and inexplicable Eddie.
A whole game made out of a single Iron Maiden song. I’m sold.
Click the link and don’t be surprised if you end up playing longer than you thought you would, if not just for the 8-bit Maiden soundtrack. It’s a beautiful thing.

The ship is sinking towards idiocracy, and this dude (15 year old Brady Olson) just said fuck it and blasted another hole in the hull to get it over with. Deez Nuts have my full support. Love that this is real. Represents my violent ambivalence towards politics perfectly, points to the absolute joke elections have become and also adds to the stupidity of it.
It also makes for great polls like this:
10/10 would live in this time again. Although I’m kind of disappointed to see that Deez Nuts actually has a kind of ramshackle, but not fake, platform; and it has nothing to do with supporting gonads, just a 15 year old’s stances on some hotbutton issues.
Whatever, those nuts had my vote at “deez.”
