As Time, Goes, By

Hello, world. Still here. This past 12 months...

Let's just say that my experience of living in a pandemic has been of suspension. Suspended activities, relationships, projects. It never seems normal enough to make a plan, set a goal, make a decision.

But while we're suspended, there are giggles, and new ideas, things are put aside permanently, people die, babies are born, aging progresses, very simple things become precious.

This same 12 months, without covid, would have been so different that it hardly bears rumination. And yet, there remains this conviction that if we just hold on a little longer there will be something normal again.

For me and my family, it has been a time of consolidation and reorganization, and preparing for many outcomes. Cleaning up and catching up. This page among that.

Feel free to reach out. Let me know how you are. I care. I will respond.

And if you are in the mood to hear what I've been up to, I have a new podcast series for this moment, about living on the color line in 2020. It's called the Auldton Laughing Club podcast, and it features the people around me, in various ways, living in this moment.

FEAST on some Knowledge in New York

If you've seen, heard, or been in shouting distance this past few months you know that I've been all about F.E.A.S.T's event, FEAST of Knowledge 2019 in New York City March 17

It's such an event that there's even a party to celebrate it: After-Party

What a lineup, what a day, what a team --

And that's after the SAHM Meeting in Washington DC and the Academy for Eating Disorders International Conference the four days prior.

As a home office person, that's more shoe-wearing and mascara than I do in a year, but oh, wow do I look forward to it. Make sure to register now, to make sure you have a seat, and we will be announcing Livestream options to watch remotely and scholarship tickets next week!

Coms and Nets and Web Pirate Treasure

Just when you think you're a savvy Internet person...

My domain of over 14 years, Laurassoapbox.net, has been pirated away. Thousands and thousands of links throughout the internet, gained the hard way: by relationships and conversations. All gone.

I'm republishing under a .com domain, just three little letters, but there you are. Years of work gone. The gold, the buried treasure, of the Internet is links and search engines finding you.

So, if you have or use links to this blog, please rename them with a .com so they still come here.

I have appreciated all the support for all these years, and will appreciate your help now in redirecting people to this address for any posts you find helpful. I am heartbroken at the loss, but not bitter. There is more work to do, more links to create, more parents to find information.

Hold your children, your wallets, and your internet passwords tight!
