Book Review ~ ‘Loving Cara’ by Kristen Proby.
Loving Cara by Kristen Proby
(Love Under the Big Sky #1)
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
******
SYNOPSIS
In this new Love Under the Big Sky series from a USA Today bestselling author, Cara agrees to tutor her former classmate’s nephewand learns some lessons in love!
Josh King is an expert at running his familys multi-million dollar ranch in Montana. (And all that outside manual labor has done wonders for sculpting his six-foot-three body, too.) But as sure footed as he is when it comes to the ranch, Josh doesnt know anything about how to deal with an adolescent boyso when his twelve-year-old nephew, Seth, is dropped off on his doorstep, looking scared and acting surly as hell, Josh knows he needs help in straightening him out.
Cara Donovan loves her quiet life as a teacher in her sleepy hometown, so she jumps at the chance to make a little money over the summer as a tutor. But when she learns shell be teaching Josh Kings nephew, Caras sweet summer job gets a little bit hotter. Cara tries to focus all her attention on tutoring Seth, but Josh proves to be a delicious distraction, while Joshs memories of the shy girl he once teased in high school are nothing like the beautiful woman hes facing now. Can he persuade her that theres more between them than a summer fling?

Book Review ~ Loving Cara by Kristen Proby – 5 Stars
What a gorgeous and sweet romance! Im ashamed to say that Ive never read Kristen Probys novels before (something that shall be immediately rectified) because in this first instalment of the Love Under the Big Sky Proby showcases her talent with words, and puts her high on my list for recommended contemporary romance authors.
The storyline was that of a sweet romance, a friendship from childhood suddenly forming into something more, which Im a real sucker for. Probe didnt fall into the common traps of making the romance too fast-paced however, and I loved the gradual change from the spark of physical attraction to the realisation that their feelings are love. It wasnt insta-love, and it wasnt a second-chance romance, it was something more unique and I adored the way that the relationship between Josh and Cara was based on mutual respect, past friendship and an understanding.
The characters were what made this novel such a standout one for me. Cara was a strong and independent girl which made me really admire her for the work shed put into becoming who she was. Josh also was hard-working and to me this was so attractive in a contemporary romance, as all too often recently Ive found the heros to be billionaires and without a care for money. Having Joshs strong work ethic and his pride and love for his family and their land made him so much more real to me as a person, and I fell for him right alongside Cara.
Their is the perfect blend of romance, humour, angst, family and friends that made this such a wonderful and relatable novel. Seths presence also made the relationships that the characters formed seem all that more special, as it was because of him that they were all working together!
This was a five star read that I recommend so much to those who are looking for a sexy, fun and heartwarming read.

Book Review ~ ‘Tangled’ by Emma Chase.
Tangled by Emma Chase
(Tangled #1)
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary.
*****
SYNOPSIS
When rich, handsome, and arrogant meets beautiful, brilliant, and ambitious, things are bound to get tangled
Drew Evans makes multimillion-dollar business deals and seduces New Yorks most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? Hell tell you he has the flu, but we all know thats not really true.
When Katherine Brooks is hired as the new associate at Drews fathers investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboys life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
How can one woman turn a smooth-talking player into a broken, desperate man? By making the one thing he never wanted in life the only thing he cant live without.
*****
Book Review ~ ‘Tangled’ by Emma Chase – 5 Stars!
I cannot remember the last time that I have laughed so much at a book! Im a soft touch when it comes to romance, and before I read Tangled I had found myself leaning towards more emotional stories, but Emma Chase just drew me in to this story (pun intended) and showed me that contemporary romance can still be emotional even when youre laughing your head off!
Tangled is the perfect laugh-out-loud book and I knew as soon as I read the first chapter from Drews point of view that I was in for a treat. Emma Chase nailed Drews character, and I loved his internal monologues, and how perfectly guy-like they were. When Kate entered the scene, a fiery, determined, career-driven woman, I howled at their sarcastic banter and the serious competition they gave each other to prove their worth and land the coveted client. Kate was the best heroine ever, and seeing how she completely wiped the floor with Drew, from drews point of view no less, was priceless!
I really liked the set-up of this novel, especially how it jumps from the present to the past and then catches up again. Seeing just how hopeless Drew is when it comes to women, and understanding their feelings was both hilarious and endearing. Just seeing him lay around moping, after were shown why he is hidden away with man-flu, and how it is his sister that has to beat some sense into him is something that will have women everywhere despairing.
I laughed and cried when Drew began his attempts to win Kate back, and despite the humour that was a crucial ingredient to Drew and Kates journey, I never once felt that the emotion and love behind their relationship wasnt implicated enough. Emma Chase did a wonderful job at combining the witty banter and humour with an emotional undertone that showed just how much Kate and Drew love each other.
A fun, heartwarming read, Tangled is easily a 5 Star read, and I cant wait to read more of these two characters.

SYNOPSIS
Chloe knew she was giving up the quiet life when she married Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt. She expected harassment from paparazzi but not from the writers of Blood Ritual, a television crime drama that brought national attention to a tough case she is trying to solve as a forensic scientist. While she and the rest of the Albuquerque Police Department once collaborated with the show, now relations have gone sour, and details that the police are trying to keep secret in the investigation are cropping up in episodes of a show watched by millions.
If that werent enough, everyone in Chloes life seems to be going through a rough patch, from her best friend, Lori, who is trying to plan a wedding, to her niece Kyra who is upset about Jasons choice of television roles, to Jason himself who is inexplicably moody and withdrawn. None of this drama is the type of thing Chloe knows how to resolve.
She is trained to do one thing: hunt down the big bad wolves of the world, but with her connections to fame compromising her work, she may not even be allowed to stay on the case. The clock is ticking as law enforcement agencies across the country try to find a serial killer before he strikes again. Chloe is faced with a choice, to help catch one of the most evil criminals in history, or provide support to the friends and family who have always been there for her. Either way, she knows she might make the mistake of a lifetime.

Beth nodded. “There are four AMBER Alerts around the country that could be Eisner. Aside from the child who go taken from preschool, one didn’t come home from school. She never got on her bus. One was on a church campout and he wandered away from the campsite, and the third one disappeared from her room in the middle of the night.”
I mixed the ice in my cup with my straw to avoid tapping my foot or otherwise showing my nerves (which were probably boosted by caffeine just now.)
“We’ll get him,” said Beth. “That’s what we do, right? You find him and I’ll hurt him. Deal?”

*****
Book Review ~ ‘I Need You’ by Jane Lark ~ 5 Stars!
A stunning addition to the ‘Starting Out’ Series. Billy and Lindy’s story will have you tearing up and smiling! I am a huge fan of this series by Jane Lark, as every time she introduces us to a new couple, and the struggles they face to be together, I always connect with them so deeply, and really root for them to get their happy ending.
Billy and Lindys journey was a really exciting one for me as a reader as getting to know the girl who at one point was the nemesis to Rachel, a character I had grown to care for, I was intrigued to see how Lindy justified her hurtful actions. Jane Lark portrayed Lindy to perfection! I loved getting inside her mind and seeing the real damage she hid behind the seemingly perfect, snobby girl who Id greatly disliked in I Found You.
Billy and Lindys relationship was really beautiful to witness. Getting to see Lindy come out of her shell, confide in someone, and finally begin to love herself and her body was heartwarming. From seeing the Lindys lack of self-confidence at the beginning of the novel the transformation she made was inspiring, and I think will resonate with many young readers who find it difficult to see their true beauty.
Billy was another swoon worthy hero given to us by Jane Lark, and I loved him from the get go. I was really pleased to see that he and Jason had repaired their relationship, and how he felt strongly enough about Lindy to berate Jason for letting Lindys self-doubt fester for so many years.
This was a heartwarming tale which sees the once unlikable Lindy in a new light, and tells the story of her blossoming under Billys love, which will make you laugh, smile and cry in equal measure. 5 Stars!

EXCERPT
He smiled and reached out to hug me. I
again tried to swallow around the lump in my throat. After several run-ins with
over-zealous fans, I hesitated whenever a stranger tried to hug me. Today I met
people that cared so much about each other that handshakes weren’t enough.
Elwood’s voice was shaky. “My whole
life I was called a retard. Told I was stupid, worth nothin’. At Caldwell, they
would hit me if I didn’t eat fast enough, make my bed right, or clean the
bathroom correct. Took my things, laughed at me when I couldn’t speak, and gave
me no respect. Hated it there. I’ll never forget Jack. He met me. Shook my
hand. Treated me like a man. He saved my life, and I love him.”
I could only nod as Elwood turned and
walked up the stairs to the bus. He waved from his seat as it pulled away. I
stood, unable to move, as I watched the bus turn down the street. My thoughts
were all over the place while everything around me moved in slow motion.
Liz turned toward me, and our eyes met.
She looked concerned. “Are you okay? Too much?”

Excerpt
Before I could react, he had pried my legs apart and was working along my inner right thigh, moving slowly upward. By now, my reservations were gone and I surrendered to him. And when his fingers reached the junction between my legs, I gasped when his hands slipped under my butt and gripped my cheeks, squeezing them in his hands. He could see every intimate part of me, I was sure of it. Letting go of my butt, his hands came around to my folds. At that moment, when his finger slipped between my legs, I clapped my hand over my mouth, suppressing my scream.
His fingers moved along my folds, tracking my wetness up and down. I was so wet at this point that my insides heaved with desire as he stroked me. I wanted to cry out, ask him what he was doing, but I didn’t. I let him manipulate my folds, slowly, methodically bringing me to orgasm. My hips began rocking in time with his hands. God, those hands were making me feel things I never thought possible. I could feel my climax building, like a wave caught in the shallows it was gaining momentum, waiting to wash over me.
I was at his mercy now. I ached for release and was willing to do anything to achieve it. But when his finger inched back and forth over my vagina, teasing me with the promise of what was to come. I bit my lip, desperate for him to penetrate me. His fingers did not wait long to slip inside of me, and when I felt the pressure of him moving deeper, I arched my back and moaned. He was rubbing back and forth over that spot, the one so many men try to find but give up. Well, Mr. Hands knew exactly where my spot was, and as he slowly moved in and out of me, I knew I was going to come harder than I had ever come before.

Cover Reveal ~ Only For Her Dragon’ by Julia Mills.

Only For Her Dragon
(Dragon Guards #6)
By Julia Mills
Coming January 13th, 2015

There Are No Coincidences…
The last bachelor in a Force of elite Dragon Guardsmen, Aaron O’Brien decided long ago that single was the only way to be. Mates and children and happily ever after were for his brethren. He alone has accepted the responsibility of stopping the traitor and restoring peace to his clan. Unfortunately, Fate didn’t get the message.
The Universe Does Not Make Mistakes…
Intelligent, determined and level-headed, Dr. Charlene Gallagher has always found comfort in logic and reason. When the inexpiable jumps up and smacks her in the face will Charlie cling to her old beliefs or let go and find answers in the one man that clouds her judgment and ignites her passion?
Fate Will Not Be Denied
Nobody said it was going to be easy. The fight will be real. It will take compromise and a love created by the Universe. Only Charlie can take the leap of faith and only for her dragon…
“Oh, you know Lance, he would ask for a repeat performance.” Samantha, her best friend since forever, chuckled.
But that was the problem…
Charlie didn’t know Lance, at least not like she thought she did. And what hurt worse was that she felt like she didn’t know Sam anymore either. There had been a time when they’d shared everything. A time when the longest they could go without talking was twenty-four hours and only then there was a hurricane involved.
The guy who said ‘Life changes in the blink of an eye’ definitely knew what he was talking about. One minute Charlie had been kissing the sexiest men she’d ever met and the next she had been looking at a dragon…a freakin’ dragon.
Of course Aaron had told her to go back to the party before he sped away, but Dr. Charlene Gallagher did nottake orders. So, she had followed. Running in heels across the forest floor, Charlie had heard someone in distress. The daughter of a policeman and a trained doctor, she had rushed headlong into the clearing.
It had taken her brain a second to process what she saw. There stood Sam, alongside her new family, looking at a mythical creature. Was it still considered mythical if she’d seen it with her own eyes? That was a question she had never gotten answered.
Too much tequila…think about it tomorrow.
Charlie had done the only thing she could. She’d run…far and fast…straight to her car. Then she’d driven like Danica Patrick to her condo. Once inside with all four locks secured and the curtains drawn, she had taken her first real breath. The flood gates opened and for the next twelve hours she alternated between screaming, crying and cursing.
The sun had risen as she starred out her bedroom window, too drained to move. Sleep finally came and so did the dreams. Fortunately, her cell phone rang three hours later. Unfortunately, Sam’s name came across the display. Charlie hit ignore.
And then she hit ignore every hour on the hour for the next two days.
Mom of two rockin’ girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!
