I Am So Tired of Bad News!

     I am so tired of bad news! I can barely keep up with it. It’s not always my own bad news. Rest assured I have had decades of seemingly relentless struggles, trials, tragedies, tribulations. But everywhere I turn it seems people have bad news to share.

     I don’t watch  television and only look at the news very briefly online, but people are constantly telling me about bad stuff happening. I know I am not alone in terms of being tired of it all. And I am writing this not to moan and groan...

This is NOT Sexy!

     When I reflected on the big sin I had fallen into, I realized how “sexy” it had seemed at the time. Now let me be clear. First, my sin had NOTHING to do with men, relationships, sexual relations, etc. The word “sexy” can be defined as “appealing”.       Every once in a while over the years I have felt shocked, hurt, horrified, saddened, and sometimes even devastated over losing someone or some people or some thing or many things in my life seemingly all at once. I Cried Because I Veered Off Course

      Years ago when I was totally broken I cried tons. Now I don’t cry so often. I’ve been really crying hard for the past few minutes. Godly sorrow produces repentance. That’s when we’re really truly sorry about our sins and how we’ve disobeyed and hurt and rebelled against God. This is why I’m crying. Because I did something terrible without even seeing it. And God in His amazing love and mercy just led me to repentance. See, I veered way of course.

Reaching the Unreachable

     I wanted to title this message “praying through walls,” but the words “reaching the unreachable” poured out instead. It’s all the same to me. I have a heart for the people around the world in the most dire straits. “The least of these,” per the Bible. So many of them are unreachable for different reasons.

I Ran Out of Luck!

     I would be blown away by how many people say things like, “Good luck!” and “I was lucky” and “I ran out of luck” except for the fact I once fell for this myself. This business of believing in luck and being lucky and wishing other people luck and such. The Lord has since corrected me. Now that I know God is Creator, all powerful, all knowing, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, almighty God, Father in heaven, etc., I don’t mess around with using the word, LUCK.

I Love Kindness BUT –

“I love kindness,” I said aloud after hanging up the phone. I had been speaking with someone at a government office with whom I had spoken before. Helpful. Kind. Such a blessing especially in this day and age. I would suppose most of us appreciate kindness. And I would imagine many of us are thankful for kindness when we receive it.
