UPDATE on Senior Disabled Little Miss Miracles

While 14-year-old-ish senior disabled Little Miss Miracle's eyes are now on the mend, for which I thank God, her inner ear infection has not gotten better overall. I have tried four different antibiotics, plus cleaning her ear through the day, and two different ear medications - all to no avail. She does not appear to be uncomfortable at all, but her ear problem does need to get resolved!

Her doctor is suggesting putting her under some anesthesia and flushing out her ear, as well as taking a h...

Whose Dream Is It? DAILY INSPIRATION 3/19

My precious friend and I gushed at the mouths one evening on the telephone about our little dream. In all reality, it wasn't a little dream. It was a BIG dream. I could not remember the last time I was so excited about a dream for my future, and to share the same dream with such a dear friend was the icing on the cake. We would dive into our dream in three years, and despite my predisposition to impatience, I would somehow manage to wait the three years for the dream to come to fruition. Then...

The Danger of Happiness - DAILY INSPIRATION 3/18

"You're happy now, aren't you?" a loved one asked me one day, noticing a change in me after decades of struggle. It was not as though I was no longer struggling, considering much of what I struggled with is for the long haul, but something indeed had changed. My heart - and my answer.

"I'm actually not happy," I replied honestly. "When I look at my circumstances, almost everything I ever wanted I have lost or I have never gotten. There is really almost nothing...

Running to the Rescue of a Loved One - DAILY INSPIRATION 3/17

Have you ever been so incredibly utterly desperate to see someone you love dearly get well from whatever he or she struggles with that you'll do just about anything and everything to help the person? Have you found yourself sticking on your stethoscope, so to speak, opening up your so-called medicine cabinet, searching your mind relentlessly for ways you can help the person get on the path to recovery, woken up in the middle of the night trying to come up with methods to help the person turn...

Right Gift, Wrong Use - DAILY INSPIRATION 3/16

"I'm using the gift God gave me in that situation," a beloved friend basically told me one day, also sharing with me how he was continuing to wonder what God's purpose for him is. "You might be using the gift God gave you," I essentially replied. "But that doesn't mean you're using the gift He gave you for His purpose." I wasn't just sharing with my friend wisdom from above. I was speaking from a wealth of experience - not of the right variety, mind you.

Decades before I believed in God, and a...

Are You Listening? DAILY INSPIRATION 3/15

Are you listening? A kindergarten teacher I assisted for a very short while before I was fired many years ago in some of my worst - and lost - years began the school year with this question. Are you listening? But I am not a kindergarten teacher, and the question I am asking you is not for children. It is for you.

You have time to listen to the radio. You watch and listen to television. You listen to a concert. You listen to your family. You listen to your frie...

The Blessing of Letting Go - DAILY INSPIRATION

When a friend of mine with tears in her eyes lovingly let go of a lovely handmade child's mattress her mother had made many years ago for a great grandchild, not many months after my friend's mother went on to be with the Lord at about 95 years old, she explained how very hard it is for her to let go of stuff that for her has emotional attachments. I hesitated to take the yellow mattress from her to be used for Walk by Faith Ministry's dogs as she had suggested, knowing full well they could d...

You're a Loser - DAILY INSPIRATION 3/12

A short while after I got off the phone with a friend whom God placed in my life after he was one of the only two people who contacted me about a newspaper article written about the Lord, me, and Walk by Faith Ministry with an emphasis on the ministry's special needs dogs, I couldn't help but think of how the Lord had sent my friend once again to me to remind me that God has a plan for my life and that the devil is a liar. "You're a loser." Have you ever heard the words echo and ricochet and...

Donations for LITTLE MISS MIRACLES

Senior disabled dog Little Miss Miracles, whose name was changed from Miracle to Little Miss Miracles given how many miracles she has already received, is once again in need of help. She was diagnosed with a very severe inner ear infection that is not responding to treatment so far, and now has an issue with her eyes with one eye even more so. Though diagnosed with dry eye, I am taking her back to the vet to see because she has worsened rather than gotten better upon starting her treatment.

I...

Got Shakespeare? DAILY INSPIRATION 3/10

The bumper sticker on the car in front of me couldn't have been more obvious. Black. White. One of those bumper stickers that can't help but grab your attention because of its simplicity - not to mention bold letters. With its bold message. GOT SHAKESPEARE? Normally I might not have thought much of it. I am a daydreamer. My mind wanders; it doesn't stay on any one subject for any period of time - not often anyway, not unless the topic secures my attention, as it so often does when it comes to...
