Disabled Dog’s Unhappy Walk

I was walking disabled ministry dog Gracie who years ago was hit by two cars on the same day in front of a gas station where she lived after being dumped there when I noticed not for the first time how slowly and sluggishly she was walking. Was it her senior age? Arthritis? The masses underneath her back the vets had assured me seemed to be fine and likely a result of the accidents and her bone setting in place after being broken because she wouldn’t let anyone rescue her to take her to the vet ...

God’s Big Question

One day the Holy Spirit asked me a really challenging question. I wrote it down on my computer because I sensed strongly it bore a powerful message for all of us. I wonder if you will be as moved – and challenged – reading it as I was hearing it.

“Will you choose my will or your own?” the Lord asked me. “Will you deny self and follow me? Or deny me and follow self?”

In the Bible, Jesus says: “…”If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”...

Missing the Past

I called out to one of my handicapped ministry dogs, “Abby!” only to immediately remember after 15.5 years of her being in my care I had very recently lost her. That is when this message came to me. When we get caught up in missing the past, which I readily confess I have spent way too much of my life doing, we run the risk of missing the present and even the future because our focus is on the people, places, and things of what lies behind us and our eyes, hearts, minds, and lives are preoccupie...

Thinking of Going Back?

“Maybe I should go back,” I whined to the Lord.

Go back where? To my dog rescue work. To having a house. To being settled in one place. It wasn’t just that I was missing my dog who had passed away and those who had been adopted out. It was that I was for the umpteenth time in the past four years facing the challenges of being on the road for the Lord full-time with my handicapped ministry dogs and settling into my latest location while researching options for my next one. I was frazzled, disgrun...

Update & Prayer Request

As much as I would LOVE to tell you I’m now settled into my newest location on the road for Jesus in South Florida having a joyous wonderfully easy and comfortable time doing tons of writing, tons of streets ministry, and overflowing with happiness, comfort, and jubilation, I need to share with you the truth.

It’s been challenging settling in to an area vastly different than I expected (it’s exceedingly commercial not the Florida I remember from long ago with coconuts, palm trees, oranges, natur...

Quit Rehashing It

If there is one thing I’ve done really well over the years, and there is NOTHING good about this mind you, it’s rehashing my sin over and again AFTER I have sought and received the Lord’s forgiveness. Countless times, I have revisited in my mind – and emotions – how badly I messed up in various matters with one matter in particular. And I can promise you this. Not only does rehashing our sin once we have repented go AGAINST God’s Word and belittle His amazing love and mercy, but we open wide the...

Where Should I Go God?

“Where do you want me?” I asked the Lord as I flopped face down onto my hotel room bed in south Florida about 1.5 weeks after arriving at my latest destination on the road full-time for Jesus with my handicapped ministry dogs.

The Holy Spirit answered immediately.

His answer was simple. Blunt. And so powerful.

“In me,” He replied.

How do you know when the voice you hear inside is from God? God ONLY and ALWAYS speaks in line with the Bible.

I knew what God was telling me, and what through me I be...

When God Brings Us Out

“Thank you God for all you have brought me out of,” I told the Lord as I prayed briefly, half asleep, half awake, having just taken ministry disabled doggy Gracie out for a very short early morning walk. Then His Spirit compelled me to get off my knees and go write this message.

When God brings you out of something, do you thank Him? When God brings you out of something, do you remember down the road that He brought you out? Or do you hurry forward with your life and forget to acknowledge the go...
