Finished challenge

I don't know why GR sometimes doesn't add books I've read to my Reading Challenge. I've actually read one more than it says. Though I should've set my challenge at 50 because I'll probably read more than I thought this year!

Free book!

To celebrate my 10-year anniversary as an author, my first published book, Guardian of the Light, is FREE thru Sunday, September 17. This book is very different from my other books with a paranormal/spiritual theme. Read it now while it's free!

10 years!

It's been ten years this month since I published my first book! And I've published ten books! Two standalones, two with sequels, and a four-book series. I never could have imagined digital books and self-publishing when I first dreamed of being an author decades ago.

I'm in love

I’m in love. With books. Sometimes it’s the best. Sometimes they let me down. I love immersing myself in a story. I love not knowing what’s going to happen. I love twists and turns and drama and unexpected laughter. Endings are important. It has to be a good ending, not necessarily a happy one, but the story has to tie up well and leave you with a wistful bittersweet feeling when you have to let go of the characters.

I have loved words my entire life. Some stories stay with me. Some I read more than once. I savor the profound, ponder the insightful, and delight in the humorous. I’m fascinated with the stories of people’s lives and the stories that come out of our imaginations. Stories are infinite and eternal and uniting. We can disagree on everything and enjoy the same story. We can live a thousand adventures from the safety of our chairs.

I love writing, playing with words, bringing characters to life, discovering the story as I go. I love the promise of the first page and the rollercoaster journey and wrapping it all up into a satisfying ending. I love sharing my stories with readers who lose themselves in my words and care about my characters as much as I do.

This is the joy of writing. This is the joy of books.

Happy New Year!

Is it just me or did 2022 fly by? I have many resolutions (goals) for this New Year.

I joined the GR Reading Challenge (my 10th year) pledging to read 45 books. This is less than usual because I hope to write more. Wish me luck! I have fragments of ideas and, hopefully, these will bloom into wonderful books.

As always, I want to eat better and exercise more.
Keep in better touch with family and friends.
Take a few more road trips (in my electric car?)
Possibly get a cat or 2!
And spend more quality time with my S.O. Despite living together, it's easy to hunker down in our offices and spend too much time apart.

And be more positive, kind, and generous!

What are your resolutions?

Reading challenge

I've never been so far behind in my GR Reading Challenge! Moving to another state really put a dent in my reading time. But there's still plenty of time to catch up. How can it be almost September? So many books, so little time!
