Santa Is A Cosmic Guinea Pig

Santa has the ability to travel faster than light, which suggests some sort of omnipresence. Santa also has the ability to know who has been good and who has been bad. That suggests some kind of omniscience. Santa also has the ability to have the perfect gift for every child.

Clearly, Santa is no mortal entity.

Furthermore, Santa is often described as fat and jolly.

Conclusion?

Santa is a cosmic guinea pig, possibly Cuddles. I mean, he does eat a lot of junk food, and he can be pretty cheerful...

Zero (Flash Fiction Fridays #56)

Katie looked at Cuddles. “Please, tell me you’re joking.”

The cosmic guinea pig continued to munch on a cookie. “Nope.”

“But… but that’s impossible, right? I mean… the multiverse is full of infinite possibilities. There has to be at least one universe where I grow up to be tall!”

Cuddles reached out and patted her hand with one small paw. “Listen, kid. I’m a cosmic guinea pig. I can perceive every single alternate version of you simultaneously. There are plenty of differences. Some of you ...

So…

Since I can’t do anything except sit down and write at the moment, I’ve been making some good progress. In fact, I’m doing what I used to do, which is sitting on the edge of my bed and writing.

30,000 words over the past two days.Ah, that takes me back to the past. Also, here’s an interesting tidbit for Book 5.

There are spider people. And, yes, Katie and the gang do meet them. I’m sure it will go splendidly.

FFS…

Not my week. Tripped over something two days ago and hurt my left knee (the right knee is the surgically reconstructed one). I didn’t hear a popping sound, and the knee seems to be stable and can bear weight although there is a painful twinge when it is bent back far enough. Straightening it is fine. I think I’ve just tweaked it, but I’ll have to keep an eye on it. No swelling, but it can take a while for that to kick in.

At the moment, I’m going down stairs backwards to take as much strain of...

Bathtub (Flash Fiction Fridays #55)

“Has anyone seen Blue Scales?” Jonathan asked. “He said he was going to have a nap. I was supposed to wake him up when it was time for dinner, but he wasn’t in his room.”

Eric laughed. “Is that so? I’m not surprised. This inn has natural springs for bathing, right? He’s probably over there.”

Jonathan dutifully headed over to the natural springs that were set up for bathing behind the inn. Apart from the more popular hot springs, there were also cooler springs available for those who couldn’t sta...

I Have A Normal Brain

I had a CT scan of my brain the other day. Apparently, it’s all normal although I’m sure there are people who would beg to differ.

I was half-expecting them to accuse me of being a robot piloted by a little guinea pig (think Men in Black style). Thankfully, my secret is still safe for now.

Writing Groups

Should you join a writing group? I don’t think there is a one-size-fits-all answer to that question. I have participated in online writing groups in the past, particularly in my younger days, and there are definitely upsides and downsides to joining a writing group.

For novice writers, just being around other writers can be very helpful. Especially when you’re starting out and you don’t have any real idea of who you are as a writer or how to actually go about writing as a craft or discipline, it...

How Strong Are Humans?

In the Unconventional Heroes series, there are a variety of different species. There are humans, elves, dwarves, goblins, dragons, ogres, trolls, and many others. So how do humans stack up physically?

Well, it depends. If you take your average human and compare them to your average elf or dwarf and don’t allow anybody to use magic, the human will be weaker than both the elf and the dwarf. However, the human will be quicker and more agile than the dwarf but slower and less agile than the elf.I...

Why is it called Black Tower Castle?

Black Tower Castle is the home of Timmy and the gang. It is built atop lightless caverns of doom, horror, and despair. It is also one of the most famous castles in the world. So where does its name come from?

Is it a metaphor for the black hearts of its previous owners? Is it a statement of its power and prestige?Nope.Way, way, way back when it was first built, the largest, most visible part of the structure was a black tower. Now, was that the same tower Timmy tossed Katie out? Who can say....
