Timmy is playing Pokemon with protagonists…

If you’ve read (or listened) to Book 5, you’ll have noticed that Timmy’s trend of collecting protagonists for the group continues.

What do I mean?

Just think of the current composition of the group. Any one of the group’s members would normally be the protagonist of the story. However, in this series, they’re part of a group, which might explain why the group tends to leave a trail of carnage and devastation wherever it goes.

Protagonists are there to save the day, right? Well, what about a grou...

Do clerics heal people for free?

It depends on what you mean by free.

Apart from the most militant and martially oriented of orders, most holy orders maintain a variety of outreach programs. These include providing housing, food, healing, and other support to those in need. Typically such assistance is viewed as a sacred duty or obligation, a great and noble task set forth by whichever god the holy order worships.

That said, stuff costs money. Typically, these outreach programs are paid for in a variety of ways, from tithes to ...

Where do all the corpses come from?

One of the best things about being a Grand Necromancer is the ability to field an entire army of zombies. Sure, a lot of these zombies are going to be monstrous (i.e., non-humanoid) zombies, but the majority of them are going to be the archetypical humanoid corpses for which necromancers are so famous. That said, where exactly do all these corpses come from? It’s not like corpses just grow on trees. Well… that’s not entirely true, but the eldritch sorcery or forbidden rituals required to make a ...

An Interesting Insomnia Story

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I occasionally go through bouts of periodic insomnia. During these, I get far less sleep than normal. Sometimes, I even go more than a day at a time without sleep.

When it comes to writing, the insomnia isn’t actually completely detrimental. This might sound crazy, but there’s a period after roughly 30 hours or so without sleep where my mind attains a sort of perfect clarity and focus. In that state, writing is quick, easy, and eloquent. ...

All Swords Under Heaven

Meixing sat near the campfire with Claw in her lap. The cat had enjoyed a hearty meal of fish before deciding to turn in for the night. Given his small size, it would be easy enough to move him when she needed to get up. In the meantime, she was happy to run her hand through his fur.

“What do you think is the scariest thing about Old Man?” Katie asked. “I mean as a swordsman.”

The swordsman in question was not present. Instead, he had gone with Avraniel and Spot to scout ahead… and to ensure the...

Audiobook News

For various reasons, the decision was made to split Two Necromancers, a Fortress, and a Titan into two parts for audiobook. Keep in mind that Book 5 is enormous. Even when split in half, each half is still comparable in size to Book 4. Yeah. I don’t know what I was thinking.

In any case, you’re probably wondering when it comes out.

Two Necromancers, a Fortress, and a Titan (Part One) will be out on 4th of November 2025.

Twerpiness Index

Thanks to Avraniel, Spot refers to Katie as the ‘twerp’. However, in the future, she won’t be the only ‘twerp’ around. So how does her twerpiness compare to those future twerps?

Thanks to being born before Spot, Katie isn’t actually considered that twerpy despite ending up shorter than a certain boy or certain girl.

According to Spot, who came up with the twerpiness index (Timmy came up with the name), someone’s twerpiness is basically a function of how much of their life he’s been around to see...
